About this property

Our beautiful guest house, built in 2016, is located in the foothills of the Manzano Mountains, a part of the Cibola National Forest. The views to the west display the full grandeur of the Manzano mountain range with peaks reaching over 10,000 feet. The forest has many hiking trails and roads for wildlife viewing. We are only 5 miles from the impressive ruins of Quarai, which is part of the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. The other two units, Abo and Gran Quivira, are just a few miles further away. We are only 6 miles north of Mountainair, New Mexico. Mountainair is known as the “gate-way to ancient cities.”
This small house has a comfortable queen bed and a fireplace.There is a full bath with a shower/tub combo and a vanity crafted from native alligator juniper. In addition, there is a small refrigerator, a small kitchen with microwave, and a hot plate. A gas grill is available on the porch allowing for inside or outside dinning.

A great getaway

This place is great. It is clean, quiet and we had a very relaxing stay. Our host was superb. We enjoyed excursions to the local historical ruins and to nearby nature trails. The food and hospitality at local restaurants was great. At night we enjoyed star gazing and quiet. Don’t hesitate about booking this one-it is a wonderful getaway.

Last minute getaway

I was feeling very stressed and needed to get away from Albuquerque at the last minute. I was lucky enough to find Wayne and Loraine's place available. Just what I needed!! They were fantastic hosts, the place was great and the patio grill area perfect for a glass of wine while I grilled my steak. I will definitely see you guys again!

Very clean, friendly hosts, and beautiful surroundings

Stayed a night with my wife and was very relaxing and calming. Being out in the middle of nowhere is really nice, and the location of the guest house is perfect. Very clean and well maintained, didn't have any issues and Wayne and his wife are very friendly. Gives you a serenity like no where else.

Quiet, comfortable, and very private guest house surrounded by beautiful scenery

This was my first experience with HomeAway and my expectations were exceeded in every way. Although we were only staying for one night, it was a first class experience. Wayne responded very quickly when I emailed him ahead of time to ask for exact directions. When we arrived, we were greeted with a thoughtful note and bottle of wine. There were even chocolates on the pillows. Wayne texted me in the morning to let us know that we could take our time leaving as there wasn't another guest coming that afternoon. The room was very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this guest house and would definitely stay there again if I'm ever in the area.

Beautiful House, wonderful hosts

This place blew my mind, if you are staying in the ABQ area you HAVE to give this a look. Wayne is a consummate professional with excellent communication, and his house is stunning. It's about 5 minutes north of a cute little town called Mountainair, and the scenery is novel-worthy. Plains to the east, breathtaking mountains to the west. The house is immaculate, with a wonderfully appointed guest suite with all the touches you can think of, he even left us chocolate! I wish we had had more time to stay there, but alas all vacations have to end....
