Great place near Mendocino

Very bright, open house with a great kitchen and two good size bedrooms. The single bathroom has both a tub and a stand-alone large shower. Balcony and windows open onto a view of tree tops and the ocean in the distance.

Glorious in every way!

We loved everything about our stay at the Seaglass property! The home is beautifully appointed with amazing views. Lisa and John have created a warm and welcoming environment with tasteful furnishings and artwork throughout their home. The property has private access to Irish Beach within a short driving distance of the home. We truly loved our time here and will definitely visit again!

Irish Beach Gateway

The house was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped. So preparing meals was easy. We could see and hear the ocean. However, it's an easy 15 minute walk to the beach from the house. Irish beach was very nice, you can walk a long ways down the beach.

Perfect getaway.

We had a great time at SeaGlass. John and Lisa were helpful and communicative and provided us with a lot of great recommendations to check out during our stay. The area is pretty quiet and the perfect place to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life. The home itself has everything you need for a great trip (kitchen supplies, linens, fast wifi, games, movies, etc.).

Amazing tree house

We recently spent two nights at Seaglass and the pictures do not accurately represent the beauty of the home. The living area is literally a tree house, the view of the ocean is through tree tops and birds fly by at the level of the window. Gorgeous white beach theme furniture, wonderful watercolors by Lisa (we purchased one), comfortable deck, and beautiful tile and woodwork. The lighting really sets the tone, soft lights above the picture windows, under the fireplace mantle and underneath the kitchen cabinets. All overhead lights have dimmers. The home is well laid out, we stayed with our son, daughter in law and their 4 week old baby. They slept in the bedroom off the kitchen and we did not hear the baby at night. The bathroom is spacious with two sinks, separate bath and shower, and more unique and artistic tile. Irish Beach is a very short drive, and the key that is provided allows access and you can drive right to the beach. Lisa and John are excellent communicators and made us feel very welcome. Over the last 20 years we have stayed in literally hundreds of VRBO homes and this is in the top three!

Thanksgiving at Seaglass

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Seaglass/Irish Beach. Home is beautifully decorated and light-filled with amazing views. Comfortable beds! Easy access to great walks on the beach.

Magical Getaway

We could only stay for one night and were sad to leave. Beautiful home, lovely beach, great records, and fantastic views. Owners were quick to respond and clearly manage the property well. Especially loved watching the blue jays from the back deck. Hope to return soon,

What a gem!

Great location, serene and restful. Beautiful property. Well thought-out design lends itself to guests being able to spend their time as they wish; someone can chill on the deck while someone else can nap, listen to music, do yoga, watch tv, cook, whatever - all in spaces that can be made private or connected to one another. Absolutely lovely property. The only lack I would identify is the house could use a few more kitchen amenities (grill tongs - ice trays that work - a cocktail shaker - stuff like that) but nothing that's going to greatly change your overall experience! This house is a gem, and Lisa is responsive, gracious, and super welcoming.

Perfect house in a very private location

My daughter and I stayed here during our road trip from Portland to San Francisco. It was the perfect place to relax after a long drive. The house has everything you need including great views from the deck as well as from the magnificent windows in the great room and the bedrooms. We enjoyed starting a fire in the fireplace and listening to old records while cooking dinner. Then popcorn and movies in what we called the media room. We loved all the wildlife in the neighborhood, including deer, chipmunks and stellar jays. Walking on the private beach in the fog was amazing. So different from the East Coast beaches we are used to visiting. Short drive to the lighthouse where there are seals lounging on the rocks. Much nicer place to see them than with all the tourists in San Francisco at Pier 39. We also enjoyed the town of Mendocino. Glass Beach is about an hour drive away and it was worth it. We would love to return here if our travels bring us to the West Coast again.

Lovely home for a relaxing stay

This home was an ideal blend of luxury and simplicity that made it easy for us to relax and enjoy the area. We couldn't always see the stars or ocean due to fog, but when it was clear enough, the house was situated well to enjoy it all. Instructions around the house were clear and helpful so we had an easy time settling in, then closing up when we left. The king bed was firm and comfortable, and the shower was amazing. The Keurig listed apparently broke with the previous visitor, but we had brought a press with us, so that was not an issue. We used the provided space heater to take off the overnight chill and were very comfortable. One thing to note is that there are no curtains on the bedroom windows except one room on one side. They face trees and it still feels private, but the light might be an issue for some. All in all, an excellent vacation home that has obviously been well thought through for visitors.

Beautiful setting.

This home is very comfortable and has a nice feeling of spaciousness. Large windows allow many lines of sight to the trees and birds living in the area. The neighborhood was very quiet and the beds were quite comfortable so we enjoyed some good nights sleep.

Delightful getaway.

The house is phenomenal and was spotless when we arrived. It is surrounded by forest and quite secluded, and earthquake proof, having been designed by an earthquake specialist/architect. Nice stove, good Internet access, lots of light. Access to the private beach is a steep drive. We liked Manchester State Beach down the road better. The S&B store in Manchester is great and has everything you need. House has beautiful deck with grill. Two things to consider: 1) It is cold! It was foggy most of the time and rarely above 60 degrees. We were essentially in a cloud the whole time. Also, the power went out three days in a row for several hours at a time due to inland fires. Otherwise I would give a 5-star rating. The local house manager is awesome though, and promptly brought us a flashlight. If you want sunshine, go inland or south to Gualala. We made the drive several times. The owners, John and Lisa, are courteous and responsive.

Amazing! Clean and beautifully decorated

This rental is incredibly welcoming and tastefully decorated. The owners have spent considerable time putting together an amazing ocean retreat. The rental is extremely clean and the beds are comfortable. You will be glad you stayed here if you get the chance! It is very quiet and Irish Beach is lovely and secluded. We took a horseback ride on the beach and visited nearby Mendocino and Fort Bragg. The record player was a hit! We would give Seaglass 6/5 stars if the kitchen was more stocked with paper products, linens, some condiments in the fridge and if the pile of lumber/construction material was cleaned up! Our family would love to return.

Charming Tree House

Perfect house to get away and relax next to the ocean! Loved that the house was full of natural light and beautiful views because of all of the windows, yet we felt we had complete privacy. The house was very clean and welcoming with fantastic artwork adding a touch of personality. Excellent kitchen for cooking, super comfortable bed, and the shower was awesome! One of our favorite experiences was listening to the vinyl records from the deck...we even found a record to add to the collection! We will definitely book again, and we wished we had stayed longer!

We loved our stay at Seaglass!!!

We loved our stay here so much that we want to return someday! My family came out for a family wedding so only had a few quick days here but that was enough to want to return. The house was so cute and homey! Everything as so clean and updated, couldn’t have asked for anything better. They left us coffee and a bottle of wine which with so appreciated after our long drive and early mornings. We even went down to the private beach for a bit and despite the cold winds, had a fun morning, Thank you John and Lisa for sharing your beautiful home with us this past weekend!!!

Peaceful and quiet

I really appreciated staying in this very nice, private home at Irish Beach. It was just what the doctor ordered - a couple of days alone in a beautiful, calm setting. I was comfortable, everything worked well, there was access to the beach and wonderful walks, and I had plenty of time to just be myself. The shower was fabulous, the customizable lighting in the house was very nice, the bed was comfortable, and I loved the appliances. Overall, I had a wonderful stay, and I certainly got what I came for. With that said, I would like to make a few suggestions, after spending time at other properties inside and outside of Irish Beach. When I got there, I was surprised that there were no condiments in the kitchen, nothing at all to help me cook - no spices (well, there was salt and pepper), no cooking oil, nothing to put a leftover in like sandwich bags or foil or seran wrap...stuff you find in the kitchen. These things have been provided at all the other homes I've stayed at. I wondered how I would cook and serve a meal for 4-6 people with the number of serving dishes, plates and glasses provided. There were also no tissues in the bathroom or kitchen, and no kitchen towels (just paper towels and a sponge). These are small things that I've not had to bring or think about when staying at any other home. My purpose in mentioning these things is that I want to give constructive feedback, and I hope it's taken that way. None of this got in the way of the purpose of my stay. But, little extra "homey" touches can make a big difference! Respectfully submitted, CJ
