Built in 1895 as a duplex cottage, The Modern Historic South has been lovingly restored and modernized with your comfort in mind in the fall of 2017. Two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, amazing kitchen, front porch and a back patio area will make your stay a place to relax, unwind and enjoy!

This is a warm, bright, luxurious space to host you and your family. Ace location- walk or bike to the University and to Old Town. Inviting front porch to relax and unwind, or frolic in the backyard. A wonderful home away from home experience!

Remington Street is in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. It is a short walking distance to shopping, food and entertainment. Originally a street where much of the university housing was supplied, the neighborhood has become a transitional zone with homes and businesses in close proximity to one another.

Perfect home and location!

This is a wonderful place to rent if you have a child at Colorado state or if you just want to enjoy Fort Collins and old town. The home is very clean, updated amenities and comfortable beds. The host is friendly and responsive Iwould definitely rent this place again.

Perfect for a campus visit

We adored this home and loved the easy walk to CSU campus. We were worried about it being a duplex, but it was totally quiet- as if it were a single family home. Beds are comfy. Kitchen is stocked. Front porch was a great place to watch the afternoon storms roll in.

Great space in a quiet neighborhood with easy access

Apart from a hiccup when we arrived and the entry code didn't work, we had a great stay. The house is spacious, well appointed, clean, with a nice porch to sit out on, on a tree lined street close enough to any shops and restaurants you might need. Beds very comfortable and shower hot with good pressure. Overall, no complaints.

We were impressed from the moment we walked through the door. The house is nicely updated while still keeping its charm. The parking is perfect. The house is immaculate. (my favorite part). Bathrooms and kitchen are nicely stocked. Good location. We will definitely be repeat customers.

This home was better than advertised. It’s located in the perfect area and we couldn’t have been happier with the entire process. The hostess was very responsive and helpful when needed. Ideal base for attending CSU events and visiting Old Town

We're a senior couple from Redmond, WA who loved our one week stay at this beautifully restored home. We enjoyed CSU sports events, restaurants and shops in Old Town, and visits with family all within minutes of this property. It is beautifully remodeled with every imaginable feature and is probably the cleanest of any Vrbo we've ever rented. There's a private parking area off the alley right behind the home which made access to our rental car extremely convenient. Harriet Fox is a wonderful host who responds immediately to any question or need. Thank you, Harriet, for your superb hospitality!

We love this house

This is the second time this year that we have stayed with Harriet. The home is lovely - the front porch and backyard just add to the amenities. It’s an easy walk to downtown and the trial gardens. Our son, who lives in town, can get here easily - it’s a great central location and a lovely home.

We enjoyed our visit to Fort Collins for 4th of July weekend. The house is clean, comfortable and has everything a couple would need. The location is perfect for walking to CSU and Old Town. Easy drive to RMNP and great hiking in the mountains. Two thumbs up!

Wedding group perfection

Was in town for family wedding and this rental could not have worked out better for all of us. The side by side duplex allowed us to have family members on both sides. The two bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen table is expansive and allows for family breakfasts and card games. We enjoyed the front porch, lovely back yard, ease of parking. Harriet is an exceptional host. Very responsive to all requests. The bbq grill was clean and convenient for our needs. The stackable washer dryer allowed us to leave town with a suitcase of clean clothes

A great location

We had a great stay at the Harriet’s lovely home. We stayed over Easter weekend and Harriet was super accommodating. She promptly answered every question i had over the weekend. The beds were really comfortable. We walked back and forth to downtown several times and enjoyed the enjoyed just being in the house. It’s a great setup for some family time. . There were a bunch of fun board games under the TV that we didn’t get to play, but hope we can come back soon and enjoy some more!

Hi, I'm Harriet! I have three grown kids and now want to share my love and respect of the history of Fort Collins. Sometimes, when I sit on the porch, I can visualize the horse and buggy's riding down the street in front of the house. I feel like a steward of this piece of Colorado history!

I love to cook creatively and have a gourmet kitchen which is well suited to food prep and dining:) The five things I can not live without are my grown kids, my family and friends, my enthusiasm for life, my garden, outdoor living and yoga. My life motto is: Success in life is not getting what you want, but wanting what you get!

My college years were spent in the fabulous Fort Collins, and since then, the town has done nothing but grow and incorporate all the fun things that Colorado has to offer! This house is respectfully remodeled with all the modern amenities sophisticated renters would enjoy! Relax inside or venture forth to the vibrant day and night life, just steps away.
