Nice month of July near Woodstock
My family enjoyed there stay in Janna’s house. Although July was very rainy this year we found plenty to do and enjoyed the area very much. The house had plenty of room for two couples and my daughter’s dog. We had to contact the owner a couple of times but Janna got back to us immediately and answered our questions. Our biggest thrill was seeing a mama bear and her cub in the woods behind the house! Truely in the country!

Incredible landscape setting
Everything was excellent, but the landscape setting was unparalleled. Beautiful, Catskillian, comfortable outdoor spaces to enjoy fires, books and meals, and gorgeous views out every window, all set in the mountain woods, lake and trail system of a state park. And though it is an incredibly peaceful retreat, you are close to towns, restaurants, music and culture.

Fairytale winter getaway
We stayed at Jenna's Woodstock house for a week over New Year's - it was a perfect ending to 2020. Calm and and relaxing by the fire - walking up to light snowfall and quiet and deer in the yard. The house is clean, spacious and comfy and has everything you need set up for you. The beds are comfortable, plenty of linens and paper goods; kitchen has everything you need - just bring food to cook and spices, etc. You won't run out of things to do, interesting books, house even has a history. The absolute singular tiny complaint were the stink bug/conifer seed bugs and lady bugs; but you're in the country, so deal with it. Firewood may be wet so expect to purchase while you're there if you prefer fires daily during cold weather, but the house is heated and you have full control - this is not a need. We would return here again and again. Jenna was responsive, easy-going and accommodating! Loved, loved, loved it.

Lovely, nostalgic, curated mountain retreat
This property was lovingly handcrafted by the owners and it shows. Attention was paid to the details which made our trip that much more enjoyable. Perfectly situated close to the bustling village of Woodstock and the hamlet of Phoenicia, you lack for nothing by way of amenities, activities or dining out. We love it here and we will be back!

Heavenly retreat
We attended a wedding at Onteora Mountain House. This house was perfect - quiet, peaceful, comfortable beds, all the amenities for our short stay. And the AC was a real plus for this hot and muggy July weekend. Thank you Janna for your quick responses. It was a true pleasure.

A perfect weekend!
We had the most lovely three day weekend visit. The house is spotless, warm and cozy, and we wanted for nothing. From the charming outdoor seating areas, to the BBQ and picnic table outside, to the tasteful decor, you can tell that this is a "home", not just a house. It has been deeply loved, which makes it very easy to fall in love with it. Our three kids - and small dog - loved curling up by the fire, cooking big meals, reading and exploring Woodstock. Janna couldn't have been more gracious or communicative. We will be back FOR SURE! Thank you!

Gorgeous Home!
Six of my closest girlfriends and I had a get away weekend here, and we could not have been happier with the house. Beautiful time in the Woods and Mountains
The peace and quiet are so alluring, when your in the woods. Yet. the kids had a wonderful time as well.. The skiing is close by, the Emerson spa is close by. ,the best pancakes are close by.....and the views are wonderful for that peace time I need to write in my diary.......the house is so cozy, warm, clean, and has so much style with mixed in eras. From the bedding to the equipment in the kitchen, the house offered everything we needed. We are definitely going to book several dates for skiing, and jump to summer time too! the park across the way in the woods, was perfect to take the dogs to, where there is a lake ( frozen now and the kids loved watching the ice fishermen), and there are great trails along the stream, as well as a fenced in huge dog park. We went to Levon Helm's for a private music event,, that included his daughter Amy Helm and some of her usual guests like Theresa Williams and Larry Campbell....etc. its a must weekend for a great way to gather and get out of the city. I cant wait to get here in the summer months to enjoy what looks like some great areas on the property to hang out and to have large dinner parties on the patio and get the fire pit going! We did not need a thing, but the owner called to check in and introduce herself and offer any help if we needed it......the snow was taken care of in a timely fashion, and we had plenty of firewood to enjoy a winter afternoon inside after skiing.....

Lovely cottage in the woods
We really enjoyed our stay here. Janna was very accessible via email and answered all my questions before and during the stay. Her home is lovely and unique, with a great kitchen, tons of light, and beautiful outdoor spaces. We were there with young children (7 months and 23 months) and very much appreciated the fenced-in front yard. The fire pit even came pre-stocked! The lake mentioned in the ad, while certainly walkable, wasn't really swimmable--there were lots of plants growing in it and rangers who looked like they wouldn't be too thrilled with anyone swimming there. However, it was pretty and there was a nice picnic area and gorgeous nature trail through the woods, and we were happy driving to the Big Deep in Woodstock, where the kiddos were able to splash around. We also had to improvise a baby gate out of a laundry rack to keep the toddler from climbing the stairs to the second floor, as they were quite steep. So, pro tip, if you're bringing a toddler, don't forget the baby gate!

AMAZING HOUSE & LOCATION
I stayed here with 7 of my friends for my 30th birthday and we had an amazing weekend! This house has perfect entertaining spaces and is in a perfect location! So close to downtown woodstock, kayaking, swimming and great food. Janna was so accomodating and quick to reply. Some things my friends and I all really loved about this house were the kitchen, the light dimmers in every room, the ac units in every room and the Sonas! So clean and we had everything we needed to cook with. Would love to stay here again.

Tranquility and Style
It's rare to find a place where comfort and style are equally matched, especially in such a beautiful setting, and photos cannot fully convey the atmosphere of this charming cottage. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The master bedroom was so comfortable, and the attached den was the perfect spot to binge watch our favorite shows. The view from the great room was spectacular, and the kitchen had every convenience. Our dog particularly loved the fenced in yard. Janna is meticulous in ensuring all aspects of the rental are handled with the utmost hospitality, and she provided excellent recommendations on local restaurants. We can't wait to come back!

Serenity and tranquillity
With a large family and the normal hustle and bustle, we needed a place designed for relaxation and we found it here. Nights were spent outside near the firepit with a glass of wine, playing board games and days either relaxing outside or inside near the large window. We walked to the nearby lake and drove into Woodstock. Although we didn't cook during our stay, the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, etc. Bring tick repellant!!! Definitely will be back.

Loved it!
The pictures don't do it justice -- once you see the house in person you will appreciate the lovely little details and care that went into making this house a warm and inviting place. It is also exceptionally clean -- my dog likes to hunt dust bunnies and he was sad to find none here. We took full advantage of the kitchen. The kitchen was fully equipped with a variety of pots, trays, cutting boards and other essentials. All you need are groceries! The owner shares their salt, pepper and sugar but you should probably bring everything else. The gated front yard was great for our dogs to run around in. They truly had a blast and so did the humans. We sat around the fire pit and sipped mulled wine which we had made in the kitchen. Also, the indoor fireplace was very nice and cozy. The owner provides a binder full of information you'll need. Janna was also very responsive and generous from beginning to end. Highly recommend this place! We will be back!

We love to fix up homes and bring back the beautty! I have years of experience in my work as an interior designer. I have a dog, Betty, she loves the country! We fenced in and gated much of the area around the house just for her. Woodstock is such a great community, we love it there.

Why they chose this property

Woodstock is what I call an island in the country. Its full of city people that have come to the country, and with them they have brought the arts, music and nature appreciation. this is a non judgemental community, its wonderful. I also call it a commune but we all have our own homes to go to. we meet up in the restaurants like its one big dinner party, or at the bearsville theater or on the hike to overlook. we gather together to help each other when in need, to raise funds when one is in trouble due to a house burning down, or when one does not have the insurance coverage for their illness. you feel the goodness instantly.
the house is the last of the artist style homes along this road from woodstock. I loved the 12' floor to ceiling stone fireplace, and the 11 foot window in the main room, and that i what drew me to this diamond in the rough. i knew that i could make this shine. Also, the location is such the you feel like your way out in the country, but only less than 10 min to the village by car.

However, many Americans are not aware that numerous ladybug species are considered invasive pests within the US. One of the most significant pest species belonging to the ladybug family is known as the Asian lady beetle. These beetles first appeared in New York state in 1994, but other sources claim that the insects were found in the country a decade prior to this. Since their introduction into New York state, these insects have been increasing their presence within and around homes. Although these insects do not bite or spread disease, they can invade homes by the hundreds or more, causing annoyance to homeowners.

What makes this property unique

The views in the morning from the masterbedroom bed are so romantic. sometimes one can see the family of deer looking for some berries. while hanging in the hammock, you cant believe what nature passes by! To go swimming in the lake is so refreshing. To just take a quick drive down the road to the Bearsville theater, you cant believe what music shows up there!

Asian Lady Beetle Invasion? The term “ladybug” is often used to refer to all the small beetle species that belong to the Coccinellidae family of insects. Spotting these insects in the wild is often exciting for people, and ladybugs are commonly treated with some degree of affection and/or reverence in the United States. Luckily, researchers have determined when Asian lady beetles will become numerous enough in the wild to pose a pest problem in homes.
