Litte Slice of Paradise

This is our third stay at this property. We very much enjoy the serenity of the mountains and the location of this property makes us feel like we are the only ones around. Yet, it takes us only a few minutes to be in the heart of town - Banner Elk or Boone. The amenities are all provided and our family enjoyed relaxing, playing games, putting together a puzzle and exploring the property. We found a sweet church for Christmas Eve Services and had a rib roast for dinner made in the oven at the property! Thank you Mike for everything and we can't wait to come back in December of 2025.

My second time staying at Creekside.

The cabin is nice and very well appointed and the surrounding property is astounding, especially if you are looking for a bit of quiet seclusion. Mike is a first class host. All of the instructions are clear and complete. Creekside is my first choice for a mountain getaway.

Relaxing getaway!

Remote but yet close to attractions, shopping, restaraunts which was exactly what we wanted. Cabin was beautiful, peaceful and comfortable. Bed was firmer than what we are accustomed to but everyone has a personal preference. Host (Mike) was very helpful and everything was as described.

Cute private cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin, you couldn’t see any other cabins around and the kids loved exploring the woods and creek behind the house. The description of the cabin could be a little more detailed. There is no AC so if you are going in the summer months be aware that it can get a little warm inside. Also, be warned that in the winter months that there is a sign requiring a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get up to the cabin. Overall we had an amazing time and everything we needed was at the cabin and Mike even went out and purchased another fan for us since it was pretty warm inside the house. He communicated with us throughout our stay and was always quick to respond if we had a question! Thanks again for a great stay at your cabin!

Great cabin

The cabin was a great place for us and our dogs. It had all we needed and it was secluded with pretty property. The location is central to a lot of things but the road going up was steep and curvy. Overall we had a great time.

Quiet Getaway in the Woods

My family and I really enjoyed staying at this beautiful cabin, which is located in a relaxing, remote (but not too remote) area. Although it is tucked away in the woods, there is easy access to everything: grocery stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. The property is so relaxing, especially with the stream in the back. The host, Mike, was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. He was a pleasure to work with. My family and I had a wonderful time!

Great cabin in a wonderful spot

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The forest is beautiful and quiet. Neighboring cabins are far enough away that you can't see or hear them. The location is convenient to Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, Boone and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will stay here again if we are in the area.

Wonderful vacation cabin

The cabin was lovely. Mike was very kind and accommodating. The cabin had anything you could possibly need. I was a little nervous about not having AC but we opened up the windows and the cool breeze was perfect. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Thank you to Mike! We will be back.

Another wonderful stay!

This was my family’s second stay at the cabin. It was just as fantastic as the last time. The solitude of the location, yet proximity to attractions makes this a perfect spot. Mike, the owner, is very responsive and kind. AND.. my fur baby loved it!

Friends' weekend getaway

Had a great weekend with friends, showing them all our favorite places in the Linville/Banner Elk area. The secluded cabin was just perfect for us. Not another building in sight. The creek was such a treat.

not perfect but close to it !!!

Most comfortable bed ever!!! Slept better than at home. Location is private, no other houses in sight, and this was late March and there were no leaves on the trees. Living room furniture was comfy. Bathrooms were clean and comfy with good hot water. Kitchen is adequate. If you plan on cooking large meals you may want to bring your favorite cookware. We found pretty much everything we needed so it wasn't a problem for us. It was a wonderful and relaxing vacation. We're trying to nail down some dates for this fall !!!!

Great cabin in a perfect location

This is our second stay and we loved it. It’s close to banner elk, Boone, and blowing rock. All attractions are within 30-45 mins, with plenty of great locations to eat. Loved that the cabin is high on the mountain with a great view. It’s isolated enough to be a quiet get away but central enough to get around. We highly recommend it!

So Peaceful!

The quietness of the mountains is what draws me to them. I can walk outside and hear nothing but the brook...it is awesome. This beautiful cottage is a favorite of ours. You need games, books, puzzles? They are there. Extra blankets? Yes, those too. I loved walking around the property and not seeing another soul. It's close enough to town that we could get there easily. We had a lovely time and will be back.

About the host

Hosted by Mike Burnette

Host profile image
My wife and I are recent retirees and now we split our time between the NC mountains and Raleigh.

Why they chose this property

We also have our private cabin on an adjoining 9 acre property next to Creekside, so any questions or otherwise we're only a couple of minutes away. We've been renting this cabin ourselves now for almost 15 years and probably half of our business is returning renters. One retired couple have rented from us in the summer months for 10 years, so we have a lot of clients that enjoy the privacy and location and return often.

What makes this property unique

Very private. Located between Boone and Banner Elk. Gated community of 200 acres with only about 25 cabins. Surrounded on 3 sides by US Parkland (Julian Price Park) and protected land owned by the Blue Ridge Land Conservancy. Property is at 3800-4000' elevation. Summers rarely get above 75-80 degrees during the day. Nights are cool and mosquito free. 15 minutes to Boone or Banner Elk. 30 minutes to Beech Mt or Blowing Rock. Winter skiing 10 minutes away at Sugar Mtn. or 30 minutes to Beech Mtn. Tubing 10 minutes just across the road at Seven Devils or Sugar.
