About this property
Stage-One Camping - Barebones Camping in the Jungles of Tulum
Stage-One is in its infancy with a crude access cleared and spread by hand, five campsites with footpaths, a few sets of new gear and the first bathroom installation on-line as of November 15 2017.
Welcome to Stage-One Camping. We are glad to have you staying with us. Our number one policy at this property is the provision and execution of honest guest service. We want you to be as happy and feel as comfortable as possible; if there is anything that you are not satisfied with or believe that can be improved upon, do not hesitate to speak up, we will work to try to accommodate your request.
Gear, Bed Linens and Toiletries.
We setup, maintain and break down the gear. You get a large 8 person tent with a hermetically sealed pillow-top double sized mattress with pillows and sheets. Tent cleaning and turn-down service with fresh Bed linens occurs every other day with fresh towels and toiletries provided for you daily. The Shower is very hot and we hooked up a Yacht bilge pump to it so it has great pressure.
Have Fun, Camp.
We are looking to make your experience fun. We provide setup and break down of the rented gear at stage-one; We can gather you up firewood for a fire or BBQ. If you are looking for a more secluded experience for your-self or a group, Campsites can be created further away on the land with a few days advanced notice.
Explore the Land.
We have 230 acres of jungle with rugged paths and intense flora and fauna. There is an unimproved cenote about 2 km back into the land from the initial build out area. Hiking trails are being worked out gradually. Our guests are
free to explore the whole place and relax their senses. Just be careful, you are in the wild jungle. Some areas of the terrain are extremely steep, there are cavernous ditches and small holes as well as fallen trees, please use precaution.
Public Transportation.
Public transport vehicles are available in high frequency both coming from and going to Tulum. These vehicles range from shuttle vans to full size buses. At the Tulum bus station, there is a line called MAYAB that leaves every half-hour towards Carrillo Puerto/Chetumal. The bus is specialized for frequent stops along the route. Pay attention to the mile marker signs, you want the driver to let you off at mile marker km 212, Mayab charges $35 pesos per person, it is before you get to Pino Suarez. Alternatively in Tulum, you can grab a shuttle van that departs every 15 min toward Carrillo Puerto (same direction as Chetumal.) They charge $35 pesos per person as well. Just let them know you want off at km 212. In addition to public transportation you can hire taxis, but the buyer beware, they charge up to $350 one way. We go into town about three times per week. If we have the space and there are just a couple of people, we
will happily give you a ride in with us.
Come and stay with us, grow with us, live in nature for a while.
