Perfect stay for vacation!

Well usually I have a difficult time sleeping in hotels , but we all had the best sleep ever, especially when you are listening to the sounds of the ocean and the fresh air breeze!

Hot as Hades

I really wanted to love this place. We were so excited driving up and walking in. This place could easily be 5-stars for the view alone if the owner would put some darn AC upstairs. For what we paid per night, no AC upstairs (where both bedrooms are) is ridiculous. We were there in late Oct/ early Nov and when we arrived, outside was cooler than upstairs. A portable AC unit would have been great. This was also one of the least clean rentals we’ve stayed in. The front load clothes washer was very moldy and stank very badly. Yuck. Pros: - The view - sunsets were amazing. - The proximity to the pool and grills. The pool was great. - We saw rays and turtles off the back porch. - The beach amenities were great - update the listing to include these. Cons: - So freaking hot. You can listen to the waves crashing all night because you’re so hot that you’re awake all night, since there’s no AC upstairs. It sounds romantic to listen to the waves crash all night until you are up all night, basking in your own sweat and not sleeping while you are tormented by the sounds of crashing waves reminding you that you can’t sleep and that you are sweating. Then you need to pee. - No ice maker or ice trays. See above. The owner does not want you to find reprieve. - No deadbolt on the front door or secondary means to lock the door - didn’t feel very safe. - Moldy washer.

Great location

Everything was great! The only thing we didn’t like was how hot the upstairs was. Both bedrooms are upstairs and the temperature was very uncomfortable. We ended up buying another fan because it was so hot! Even with both fans and the ceiling fans going it was still really hot. Other than that it was a great stay!

This condo had a direct views of the water where you could sit and listen to the waves crash against the rocks with your morning coffee. Location is great and condo was comfortable and clean. If you are looking for a great reasonably priced place to stay right on the water this is it

Always a wonderful stay

Our fourth stay at this condo and it's wonderful. Had an issue with the key lock box but on our random 30th time trying to open it, it just popped open. Would definitely help to replace it. Clean, quiet, and always great to fall asleep to the waves crashing. Will return! Feels like home.

Condo 187

The condo was very nice especially the lanai. Every morning we had coffee on the lanai and the evenings with the sunset were amazing. The roar of the ocean was the best part . The condo was clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen , and the bedroom was very comfortable. The cool breeze coming in at night , slept like a baby. Great place!

Great Spot!

This was our second stay at the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club, but our first in this unit. This complex is ideal because of its close proximity to shopping/dining/movie theater yet is away from the crowds of downtown Kona. The pool is great after its recent facelift! The beach was not even a 5 minute walk and was great to walk over to. This unit was very clean and very well equipped with all you could need: ice chests, boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, etc. It's an end unit, which made it even more quiet and private. The view from the lanai is to die for and every morning was spent out there. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and we look forward to coming back!

Absolute Perfection

Our group stayed for a few days in this condo in May 2022. It was absolutely perfect. The view from the lanai was gorgeous and better than the expensive hotel we stayed at for the first half of our vacation. It is also within 5 minutes driving distance to all conveniences you'd need. We highly recommend this condo!

Returning customer

This was our 3rd stay in this complex of condos & townhomes. Unfortunately, we will not return to this unit. Photos online are very misleading & should be updated reflecting what is actually at the unit. The unit was dirty upon our arrival, there was mice droppings on top of the refrigerator along with a month's worth of dust & the oven hadn't been cleaned in a while. Some lights were inoperative & living & dining room furniture was so old & uncomfortable that we spent a minimal amount of time using them. We were also charged $15.00 per day for "Air Conditioning" which we never used during our stay, the A/C unit was a window unit. Just about everything about this unit felt cheap & that the owner put the least amount of effort into preparing this unit for renters. The proximity to the ocean is what's allowing this unit to be attractive while viewing online but does not make up for the lack of comfort. All three of us visiting this unit plan to write very poor reviews with Yelp. My wife & I have been visiting the Kona area almost every year since 1998 & this was the most disappointing unit that we have stayed at.

Amazing Return Trip

I always feel the greatest compliment to give a place is a return trip. I was there in May over Mother’s Day with my daughter and a lot of grief in our hearts from the loss of many family members during Covid. To sit on the patio and hear/see the waves crashing up was the most healing trip. I returned last week to bring my husband and enjoy a week at the same condo, it was everything we needed. Location, privacy, instructions for check in and out were clear. Kitchen had everything, although I would request to add more bath towels, and better bedding for twin beds. I bought a light comforter and blanket which I left. All in all both trips to condo 187 were incredible experiences and I can’t wait to come back!!

Ohana approved

Had a wonderful time at the condo, great location and easy to find. Kitchen was stocked with basics and very clean. View was amazing, it was great having a cup of coffee in the morning on the patio and then watching the sunset in the evening. Has all the beach necessities(could use some new towels). Would definitely stay again!

Shoreside Keauhou Beauty

Our family stayed for 4 days. We were sold with the BEAUTIFUL VIEW. We felt like the lanai led right into the ocean! It was gorgeous to hear the ocean waves outside our window! The kids loved that the unit was walking distance to the pool and tennis court. Unit was clean and it was fully equipped with all that we needed (toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc..) There was a cooler we used on our road trips and it was easy to cook with the spices and kitchenware that was provided. Mahalo for a good time we will be back!

Beautiful view

It was smaller than we thought. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 toddlers. It just wasn’t big enough to accommodate everyone comfortably so two of us moved to another place. The interior has had some updating but clearly needs more. Location is convenient and the view from the patio is spectacular.

Good stay, beautiful view, convenient location

My husband and I really enjoyed the wonderful location and the linai and beautiful ocean from this house. Overall it has great amenities and features. However, we struggled a bit with the bugs and in the bathroom ant problems in the kitchen despite following everything in the welcome checklist that was provided. I would request them to do basic pest control to avoid this problem in the future.

Great location!

The location of this condo couldn’t be better! Whales and dolphins off the front porch, and a quick walk to the beautiful pool. The indoor amenities could use an upgrade, however. We were there for a month and the linens, furniture and kitchen items were all very well used. It was super clean when we arrived though, and the interim cleaning was great!
