Cabin price based on 2 people all extra guests and pets are $20 more per night per extra. Make sure you verify all before arrival. There are no tents or camping allowed on the property.
I do have the internet upon request. I want people to spend time together not by texting but by bonding as in the old days. I will give you the password, but I do not want guests downloading movies or streaming music, it will slow down or shut down, remember this is your mountain getaway.
The house has well water, you may want to bring drinking water, with travel container. Some do not like well water for drinking or making ice.

Check-in 2 PM
Please ensure the last guest cleaned the cabin, if something was left undone, please take a photo and send to us.

Tasks: EACH ITEM NOT DONE WILL BE A $50.00 DEDUCTION FROM YOUR DEPOSIT.

THE DISHES ARE CLEAN AND PUT AWAY, AND THE COUNTERS LEFT CLEAN.
THE FLOORS ARE CLEAN AND ALL RUGS HAVE BEEN SHAKEN OUT AND PUT BACK AS FOUND. (If the floor is wood then sweep and mop, there are brooms and dustpans for you to use. If the floor is carpet, then use the vacuum and after you are done empty the vacuum.)
ALL GARBAGE HAULED OFF, IF A DUMPSTER AVAILABLE THEN PUT IT IN IT . (From May to October there will be a dumpster on the property) DO NOT LEAVE TRASH IN THE CABIN.
The OUTSIDE AREA SHOULD BE CLEANED UP, THAT INCLUDES ANY OUTSIDE BATHROOMS YOU MIGHT HAVE USED.

I always said, "Surround yourself with good people, make their lives better and make yours the same."

We all share this planet and space.

No cell phone service

For the price point, it frustrated me that I needed to bring linens, paper towels, toilet paper, and clean the property on my way out. If there was a reasonable alternative I would have stayed there for the same price point.

"0" stars (did not stay there) - No TV or washer/dryer...but still advertised as having them.

We booked this property but did not stay there and have filed a dispute on the credit card charge. Shortly after we arrived, (after driving 1,900 miles), we found that there was no TV service or washer/dryer.The property was, and currently is advertised as having TV and a new washer/dryer. The TV satellite dish is obvious in the photos, but the lines to the TV were cut and taped off. We would have never booked this property if we had known that. (The manager had told us it had everything you could need). The description comments also state that there's a new washer and dryer in the bathroom, but there was no washer/dryer anywhere at the property. We spoke with the property manager twice, the first time within 30 minutes of arriving, but after 5 hours, we never got any reply let alone a suitable answer. Therefore, we notified her by text that were leaving the property and would not be not staying there. She responded the next morning by text saying, "Thank you for letting me know" and that "the washer/dryer had been removed". We never did get any explanation about the TV.

Charming,peaceful and relaxing

We had a lovely time at Little Bonanza! The property was well maintained and peaceful. Jeff is a GREAT guy and it was a true pleasure meeting him. We had a little bit of an issue at the end of our stay when we extended our stay by two nights and were then told we needed to give ANOTHER deposit and service fee which we refused of course because we had already paid a deposit/service fee. I emailed Brent(Jeff's brother) because Jeff was on vacation and left management to Brent to ask if we could pay the extended two nights in cash or check since thru VRBO we were asked to pay the deposit AGAIN but Brent said it couldn't be adjusted and we HAD to pay a SECOND deposit. I told him he could keep the extended two nights out of our deposit(after numerous attempts via emails and phone calls trying to pay the two nights sans the deposit/service fee) and return the balance but never received anything back at all. I'm sure there was just a disconnect somewhere or a lack of understanding but I don't blame Jeff. It would be nice to get the remainder of our deposit back though! It'll be fun to see the review they left us as patrons since VRBO wouldn't let us see their review beforehand but I stand by my review.

Such a beautiful area!!

We loved staying here for the weekend. We reserved due to a wedding nearby at the Steel Horse Inn and it was absolutely perfect. The space was great, clean and accommodating. This is not a place to sit inside and watch tv all day. If you want to watch tv, bring a dvd. The WIFI we could not get to work for our devices, but honstely we did not try too hard. We were there to unwind and disconnect! Security was great and we loved the ease of gaining access. We would definitely go back. The only downside was that the shower head is low. Might I suggest a handheld in its place? Thank you again for a lovely stay and we hope to be back next summer!

Born a carpenter wanted to be a mechanic, ended up an electrician and now hospitality manager. :)

Where to start, hhmm, how time goes bye, Someone once told me, You know when you start this, you are going to have to deal with people. I told them, "No", people will have to deal with me, my place my rules".

Some of my favorite sayings,

1. Ignorance is Temporary, Attitude is forever

2. Forgiveness is the fragrance the flower left upon the foot that trampled it into the

ground.

3. Engage brain before opening mouth

I was born and raised in this area and still growing up. I look at these cabins as my babies and my guests my children. I have done my part now my children take care of my babies and together they take care of me. Sounds good coming from someone that was never a parent, I think that would be the dream of a parent. Having children that you know are respected by many for just being what they are, everyone involved with them know they will take care of you and you will take care of them.

This reminds me of my theory on working, Surround yourself with good people, they will take care of you and you will take care of them, which will make every ones life better.

A break down of my life, high school in Buena Vista, then the Marine Corp and volunteer for every thing that came up, overseas duty, jungle survival, etc. Once out of USMC, got into construction, houses, schools, power plants, Telluride Airport, pump stations, fresh water and waste water plants, etc. Then projects in Hawaii, Kuai, top of Mauna Kea, volcano national park, Kuai missile range, then Johnston Atoll Chemical burn facility, Adak , Alask, then Micronesia, Diego Garcia in the Indian ocean and much more.

Then on my own to Russia, Costa Rica, Belize, Jamaica, Colombia, Panama, etc.

A few years back, New Zealand, couch surf, hitch hike then rent a car, freedom camping, picking up all hitchhikers and taken them wherever they wanted to go.

Life is truly what you make it, ;) Jeff

Why they chose this property

Location, Location, Location

When I bought this place I saw the potential it had, just as I see in people.

Here is part of my past and another place I bought, 35 years ago

My Uncle drove out here and said I heard you bought this boy, I said, Yes. He asked what I was going to do with it. I told him fix this( My house) place up then that one(Cottontail) and rent it out then possibly that one(Rabbit Den or Lodge) and then that one(Thumper) and I am not sure about that one(Wild Hare). I said, What do you think or see, Chet? He said , you really want to know what I see. I said , Sure. He said, All I see is a lot of work. I chuckled and after 35 years still chuckling and working.

That is why I say I did my part , you do yours. I do not need no more work.

Opportunity brought this property, skills and attitude made it where it is, now it is up to everyone to keep it going.

I traveled around the planet working, came home and worked then left again to work. People say, you are so lucky going to Hawaii, I said yes 6 days a week 10 to 12 hours a day, well, life is what you put into it and you get out what you put in if everything goes good. The Filipinos once asked me, What is your favorite beer? I said , Free beer. So they laughed and said so free beer is your favorite? I said,, hhhmmm ,"No". They asked what is better than free beer? I said . "Cold , Free beer."

I like people with a good attitude in life so if I can bring them around me , even if I never meet them I know their good attitude and positive energy will part of this place.

Thank You all for reading my words , if you come here great, just know. I created this place or brought it back to life for all to enjoy and take care of, so it can take care of all of us, I did my part you do yours. Cheers "Semper Fi", "Pura Vida", "Aloha"

What makes this property unique

Meeting other people that wanted a place in the mountains to get away from the hussel and bussel of the city, someone with similar interests and the respect as you or not meeting anyone, just relax and do whatever you want. You have access to just about everything, high lakes, trails or bushwhacking, fishing, hot springs, or the creek. Get on your mountain bike or just do some real good day hikes or morning/evening hikes, explore the historic ghost town, where you can just think about what went on 100 plus years ago.

Once here you will do as you want, plans will change and the time will slip past , so keep that in mind. Make some plans but do whatever you want, go rock hounding, rafting, hike a mountain, set and stare, a drive to to the San Dunes, the near bye hot springs, go to the local pubs and art stores in near by Buena Vista or Salida or get a broom and brush of the spider weds or pick up branches, wash some windows, play some horse shoes, star gaze at night, go for a walk down by the river and just relax. Feed your wild side , roast some marshmallows, make smores, all good this is your home in the mountains, Enjoy
