About this property

RiverWatch is located in the Historic District of downtown Beaufort, SC. Suite B is a short walk-up second floor unit that's beautifully decorated with a coastal and beach theme. There are two (2) very comfortable bedrooms with the Master having a Sealy Posturepedic queen and the second bedroom having a double. Additionally, there is a queen sleeper in the living room with a thick coiled spring mattress. All linens are provided.
The full bath has a shower and tub combination. Your kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove, dishwasher, medium refrigerator, full size microwave, blender, toaster, and coffee pot. There are also essentials for cooking and dining. A shared washer and dryer is located on the first floor as well and all detergents are provided.
This property is well equipped with free WI-Fi, and easy to use Roku offering multiple channels and unlimited movies, a 50" 4K Smart TV, Blue-ray DVD player and four DVDs movies, all filmed in Beaufort.

There are two bicycles per unit for your peddling pleasure as well as a Hunting Island Beach FREE access pass.
Directly in front of your entrance @ 701 Congress St. are two parking spaces, one each for Suite A & B. More parking is available behind the Cafe. There is one boat or RV parking spot on the corner of Congress & Scott St.

Cozy & Comfortable

This cozy apartment was very clean and comfortable, a real home away from home. It was conveniently located, walking distance to the main downtown area in Beaufort but far from noisy roads and events. It is located right above Magnolia Cafe which offers delicious options for breakfast and lunch. It’s spacious enough to sleep a family of 4 or 5 and has all the essentials to stay in and cook if desired. We will definitely keep it on our list for future visits.

Nice getaway

Perfect apartment for a weekend getaway for us. Parking was tight for a big SUV like we have but we managed. Very clean and would stay again.

The location is at the edge of downtown making it quiet but walkable, about 12 minutes walk to the downtown marina and restaurants. Not once were we 2 ladies concerned about our safety and we are both danger aware from larger cities. The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and appliances you need including coffee, tea, creamer, filters etc. The shared laundry includes detergent. The 2 bedrooms gave us privacy for different sleep schedules at an affordable rate. My daughter raved about how comfortable the queen in the larger bedroom was. I was fine with the double bed and pillows. It also includes beach towels -for Hunting Island beach, (the free passes were such a nice perk), not across the street, hair dryer, shampoos, conditioners. Be aware it is a little hike up the stairs with luggage if you have any disabilities. Everything is very convenient, even sojourns into the various islands. The National Cemetery is a short walk away. We had a 5 night stay and it was the perfect solution for us.

Wunderschönes Beaufort

Eine wunderschöne FeWo in zentraler Lage zum Stadtkern ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß und unmittelbarer Lage zum Fluss. Sehr schöne ruhige FeWo, leider ist das Café/ die Bäckerei , nicht wie im Inserat beschrieben , jetzt schon länger geschlossen und auch die unbewohnten Nachbarhäuser wirken nicht heimelig. Aber die nähere Umgebung lädt dann doch auch zu einem Abendspaziergang ein , toller Südstaatenflair .

Great stay for MCRD Parris Island

We stayed here for our son's graduation from Parris Island. Everything was better than expected! Every clean, accommodations, and great communication. Just 12 minutes away from the base and very easy to get there with just 3 turns. Kitchen has everything you could need.

Excellent communication prior to our stay. Great location! Place was clean, private and secure. Kitchen well equipped. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed extra days. Arranging additional days to our rental was easy to do. It was convenient to the main part of town yet far enough away for peace and quiet. The bikes provided were an added bonus! There were a couple of things that we felt could be improved. The condo, especially the furnishings, need to be updated. The couch was very worn in living room. The AC unit worked well in one bedroom but not very well in the other one. We plan on visiting area a few times in the next year or so and we’ll definitely consider this property when booking lodging!

A great place to recover from long days on the beach!

I took my nephew on a fishing trip to Hunting Island and Edisto Island for a week. This apartment was a great place for us to relax and recover from long days of fishing. No complaints!

Another perfect stay!

I look forward to my to r at Riverwatch, each year! Stumbled on it five years ago, and have returned many times, since then! The location is perfect; the bikes, the pass too Hunting Island, the coziness of the apt and it has everything to need! Walking distance to the waterfront park and shops. I absolutely adore this property!!!

Mini vacation

The place was nice and clean. Very happy with staying here, would stay again when we come to Beaufort. Communication was great with host. Beaufort is a lovely town and easy to get around in and this place is close enuff to everything.

Beaufort Weekend

We love this property and have stayed here previously. It is always clean and quiet, and the hosts are great to work with. Location is perfect for wandering around downtown, close to shops and restaurants. Also easy to get out to Harbor and Hunting Island for time on the beach.

Awesome stay

Great place to enjoy a weekend in Beaufort.. close to everything. Apartment had everything you could possibly need. Very clean, comfortable beds. There are stairs so anyone with mobility issues it might not be the best option. The cafe was not opened during our stay but several options close by. We felt very safe and it was very quiet. Highly recommend! We even took advantage of the beach pass, but arrive early as parking geta full fast!

Four Days at RiverWatch

Very clean two-bedroom apartment, with all needed amenities, which provided an extremely comfortable four-day stay for my friend and myself visiting Beaufort and the surrounding area. Location in uptown at the edge of the Historic District gave easy access -- walking or driving -- to all of the lovely sites and historic attractions in the downtown, as well as to great restaurants and shops. Do not miss a horse carriage tour of the historic district if this is your first time in Beaufort with its gorgeous antibellum homes and other important historical features of the district. The only improvement for the Riverwatch property would be an upgrade to the staircase leading from the building's entrance on the first floor to the two upstairs apartments. The staircase is difficult to negotiate without a good deal of care and its condition presents a poor impression of the property on first arrival.

Mark Is an almost lifelong resident of Beaufort having been part of a Marine family until grade 6 and attending Junior high thru college in Beaufort.
He has been a Banker as well as entrepreneur with several local businesses.
As a "Lowcountry boy" growing up in the marshes and active in boating & sailing he can tell you most anything you need or want to know about Beaufort County, its history and places you'll want to see.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property in 1987. It consisted of 1 office and 3 long-term residential rentals. in 1997 we added the Magnolia Bakery Cafe and Garden Gift Gallery. (now paused in business) The original building was built in the 1950's and has been upgraded several times.
In 2016 we converted Suite A (1 bedroom) to short-term rental as a test. With overwhelming positive response in 2018 we converted Suite B (2 bedroom) to short-term rentals. Please see VRBO #912215 for our current 5 Star Reviews.

What makes this property unique

This property has cool river breezes, large southern Magnolias and Spanish Moss covered oak trees It is within walking distance to the historic Old Point (across the street) Downtown, the Waterfront Park and sweeping views of the Intercostal Waterway.
There is reserved parking directly in front for both A & B units but if that is taken there is extra parking beside and behind the building. Both units have 2 bicycles each together with free Beach passes at Hunting Island State Park
