Tangerine Cactus Desert Cottage

Charming and unique cottage at the base of Black Mountain in Cave Creek. Natural and private desert landscape with two private patios - one with a natural gas fireplace for cool evenings when you want to stay outside to gaze at the stars. Minutes away from the town of Cave Creek, a small western town with big hospitality and a fantastic selection of restaurants, shops, golf courses, live music, and uniquely western activities.

The cottage is nicely updated and appointed, but maintains its original charm with a modern flair. The open floor plan of the great room is perfect for gathering, and the bedrooms, bathrooms, and den are located at the other end of the house for privacy. Updated kitchen with new appliances. Two sets of french doors from the kitchen/great room extend the living space to the outdoors. Updated bathrooms and comfortable beds. Beautiful Saltillo tile throughout the home.

A favorite spot is the enclosed patio with built in gas fireplace and grill, plenty of Arizona sunshine, and a large round table to accommodate dinner gatherings.

Just a few blocks off Cave Creek Rd with easy access to major highways.

Dream Desert Hideaway
This "cottage" exceeded our expectations. The eclectic southwestern decor of the house with its distinct gardens and patios. and fireplaces were fun to explore. Being in the desert was a thrill, and the nearby shops and restaurants of Cave Creek made it that much better. Carol was attentive to all of our questions. This desert get away made our stay in Phoenix so much more.

Outstanding Property
We wish we could give this property 10 stars! The Tangerine Cottage is a very special place. The eclectic decor is amazing, inside and out. The patio begs you to sit in the sun in the morning and sit by the fire in the evening. The kitchen was well equipped, (it even had sharp knives)!! It was very comfortable for 2 people and easily handled a large family gathering for Thanksgiving dinner. The neighborhood is quiet and a joy to walk around. The location is perfect, close to great restaurants and lots of shopping for local fare. Carol was incredibly responsive to our questions, responding to our texts within just a couple of minutes. We cannot wait to return to this magical property!!

5 Star Relaxing Couples Retreat in Cave Creek, AZ
April 2022 My Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Tangerine Cactus Cottage. The artsy south western decor of this beautiful cottage, inside and outside, immediately takes you to a peaceful calm. There are several private patios to choose from with gorgeous landscaping and plenty of parking. We were lucky to be there when the cacti began to bloom. Full amenities -- we wanted for nothing as every detail was addressed. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!! We took daily walks throughout the beautiful, quiet, and friendly neighborhood to downtown Cave Creek where there are excellent restaurants, bakery, Hip boutiques and antique stores. Carol was super accommodating and easy to communicate with. We hated to leave!!

A Gem in Cave Creek
The Tangerine Cactus Cottage is as cool and eclectic as it’s name implies. Carol is such a friendly and accommodating host. Her wonderful design and artistic style permeates the cottage and the nicely appointed grounds - inside and out. It’s your own piece of desert paradise just a couple of minutes from the hip Cave Creek strip. Highly recommended

Beautiful cottage, conveniently located in Cave Creek, AZ
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tangerine Cactus Cottage. The cottage is wonderfully decorated in a SW style theme, fun artwork, history, cabinets, and even a beautiful large wooden carved door hiding the W/D, clean all around, spacious fully functioning kitchen, nice sized bedrooms each with walk-in-closets and separate bathrooms, perfect sized living and dining rooms, lovely front, back and side yards, with lots of chairs with cushions, cacti gardens, good parking, clean, soothing hot tub. An easy walking neighborhood, close to excellent restaurants, grocery stores and downtown Cave Creek. Great hiking trails throughout the area. Carol was super accommodating, easy to communicate with before, during and after our stay. We plan to visit again and will recommend this cottage to friends and family who may plan a trip to AZ.

perfect space for a getaway!
The Tangerine Cactus was such a lovely place to call home away from home for my recent trip. First of all, communication with the property manager was easy, and all instructions were very clear. The neighborhood was quiet, and the patios are very private. Secondly, the pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the space is! It was clean and spacious but also so cozy. Cave Creek is an adorable town with plenty of restaurants, shopping and live music to keep you busy. It's also within driving distance of plenty of cities and other attractions to visit, but you may find you just don't want to leave the cottage! The cleanliness, decor, and comfort of home really was the icing on the cake for a lovely trip.

Tangerine Cactus Cottage
The Tangerine Cactus Cottage is amazing! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary this October and we absolutely loved this place. It has a ton of character, modern appliances, comfortable furniture, and is immaculately kept. We loved the three different outdoor spaces to sit and relax during different times of the day. All very fun, especially the outdoor fireplace and bar. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need. The beds are extremely comfortable and the two bathrooms are great. The location cannot be beat - the neighborhood is very quiet and safe, and the town of Cave Creek and everything you want to do is minutes away. Cave Creek is a fabulous area with lots of fun shops, great restaurants, and a lively music scene. We highly recommend staying at the Tangerine Cactus cottage and would stay here again for sure!

The desert garden is gorgeous, the cottage is compact, but the living room and kitchen are good sized. The owner has written up a great guide book for the house and things to do in the community. Communication with the owner was easy. If I ever come back to Cave Creek with friends, I would want to stay here again.

Comfy Cottage
My husband, myself, son and our small dog were very pleased with the Tangerine Cottage. We stayed for a week in the month of May. It has lovely furnishings,( quirky and fun), the kitchen had everything needed, along with a nice outdoor grill. We loved the three different outside areas that were all fenced in. The Cave Creek area has great shopping, restaurants, golf and hiking. It is close to Scottsdale for additional excursions. We would and may stay there again!

Great private spot in Cave Creek
Loved this place! I came here for a quick golf get- away and a little R&R. The house is situated in a great location - easy to get to Cave Creek yet in a beautiful serene neighborhood. The house itself was very clean, open and perfectly appointed. The kitchen had all the utensils needed to cook several meals...Carol thought of everything. I'm a bit of a bed-snob and the beds were comfy ! The best part of the house is the outside patios - there are 3 patios to choose from. My favorite patio was in the front of the house - Sitting there with a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night and looking at Black mountain was really relaxing. Thanks for sharing your house!

Exceeded Expectations
I can't decide which is better - the Tangerine Cottage or Cave Creek! This property is squeaky clean, beautifully decorated and comprehensively equipped. We loved the three distinct outdoor areas. The backyard was perfect for our dogs. The front patio is wonderful for taking in the morning sun and contemplating the saguaro. The side patio with outdoor gas fireplace and bar-b-que is fantastic, too. Inside, the linens are top notch and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The gas fireplace in the living room was especially nice during the couple of cool and rainy days/evenings. Did I mention how clean everything is? No cringe factors here (which we have experienced in other VRBO properties.) Everything is inviting and conducive for a relaxing visit and our week went by way too quickly. We visit Phoenix almost every year at this time for Rockies spring training and this was our first time staying in Cave Creek. It was an easy 30 minute drive to Salt River Fields. The neighborhood where the "cottage" is located is eclectic and a welcome change from the monochrome of Scottsdale. Every house is different and walking the dogs each day allowed us to explore and interact with some of the year-round locals. It's also a short walk into "downtown" Cave Creek which is also a nice bonus. We will definitely be back!

The perfect Arizona experience!
We spent a month in the Tangerine Desert Cottage and it was a wonderful Arizona experience, crazy weather and all! The fireplaces were much needed and very lovely! We couldn’t have asked for better owners to work with. The cottage itself was delightfully decorated and had everything we needed. Very funky! Great hot tub and outdoor sitting areas, even when snow/frost covered. We loved walking through the Cave Creek neighborhood with our golden retriever, seeing the amazing art work there as well as the museum and being able to walk to Oregano’s for pizza. We would come back in a heartbeat! Thanks, Carol and Tim, for a great month.

Ecclectic SW decor, cozy beds, and great kitchen
Charming atmosphere with SW flair. New upscale washer dryer and kitchen appliances. Top of the line mattress and linens. Internet and TV was perfect. Our host was extra helpful and even supplied me with local referrals for shopping. Lots of how-to instructions left for our benefit. Less than 10 minutes from Cave Creek. Area is committed to avoiding outdoor light pollution so arriving before dark makes finding the neighborhood and house easier. Would recommend this property to all who want a quiet, cozy retreat!
