Castles and fortresses are located in the immediate vicinity. Tourist attractions such as Quedlinburg or the Hexentanzplatz (Witches' Dance Floor) in Thale as well as the idyllic Bode Gorge can be reached quickly. Other excursion destinations include: Bismarck tower, Falkenstein Castle, Anhalt Castle ruins, Harz narrow-gauge railway, the Brocken.
