Great house and location in Costa Rica
Amazing house to rent in cabuya! The view is beautiful, we loved watching the sunrise each morning and sitting on the hammocks. Close to many beaches and things to do as well as many great restaurants. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolute Paradise
There are not enough words to describe Ms. Laura's amazing property. My wife and I enjoyed our 2 week Luna Miel here, honeymoon. What an amazing experience. The VRBO listing and pictures really don't do this property justice. Ms. Rosa, the caretaker was the nicest person I've ever met, even with a huge language gap. We made so many friends in this amazing community and our nights at the house were perfect. The sound of the sea put us to sleep each night and the amazing sunrise woke us every morning. We couldn't of asked more of our amazing host Ms. Laura. She arranged our transportation for us and gave us all sort of tips and suggestions. The chocolate cake really is to die for. Thank you so much Ms. Laura, we'll never forget our trip to La Conchita.

Simple Oceanfront Beach home in Cabuya
We enjoyed our stay in Cabuya. Cabuya and this home are very quiet and peaceful - just a handful of restaurants and 2 grocery stores. Love the backyard and sitting in the hammocks. Montezuma is 20 min away and Santa Teresa is a little over an hour. Yummy dinner and swimming at the hotel next door. This is a very rustic beach home. Power goes out a few times a day intermittently, no air, warm (not hot) water, slow wi-fi. Rosa is a terrific house host.

Gorgeous!
Gorgeous property and setting. The house was perfect for our family of 5, with everything we needed. The shaded back porch looks out across the yard to the ocean, which is steps away. We enjoyed relaxing in the hammock, meals on the back porch, long walks along the beach, and coming back to this retreat after each day's adventure. It is a very beautiful and private get away. The owner and neighbors who greeted us were fantastic. Highly recommended!

Great Beach House for Families
La Conchita is in an amazing location and you have several acres of beach front property to yourself. The house itself is a basic beach house and is not fancy. This was fun for our family with boys ages 10 & 12.... I hate to be places with precious glass vases when my children are wrestling like puppies! The house has everything you would need. Having front and back covered sitting areas with hammocks and tables made it so there was always a cool place to lounge. Really it seems hard to know why one would ever have to leave the property. If you sit long enough most of the animals (howler monkeys, white faced capuchins, coati, iguana etc would wander through the yard! The beach was not great for swimming.... but at low tide at sunrise it was beautiful to explore the tide pools and a higher tides walking along the shore was lovely. There are plenty of beautiful beaches just a few miles away. The kitchen had lots of dishes, utensils, pans etc. You will need to supply all foods including salt pepper, vinegar, oil. Also you supply you own hand/body soap etc. There was a safe and even the closet doors could lock with a key. We used and appreciated these security items but really felt that it was unlikely that anyone would break in. It is an area where it is helpful to have cash to pay as not all stores/restaurants take credit cards so when you travel there you may be carrying more money than you are used to and having a safe where you can leave it gave me peace of mind. The house is well laid out and cools off well with the ocean breezes. We visited the Cabo Blanco Park which was amazing but was a longer walk with more elevation gain/loss than we expected. When you get to the end of the trail, you will want to spend the whole day at the lovely beach so pack lots of water & food and count on a long day. We also hiked Rio Lajas to the amazing waterfalls with exquisite and very remote swimming holes but be prepared for a long day and again when you get there, you will want to spend hours enjoying it so start early and bring lots of food and water. This area is off of the beaten path of tourist and is well worth the effort to get out here. My only complaint with the House was the beds and pillows were not comfortable for me. To be fair: I have rented other houses in Costa Rica and really, these were very typical of others I have stayed at. I am sure it is difficult and expensive to bring high quality mattresses out to this remote location.

Natural Setting and Large Lot.
There is a lot of value to be had here. Cabuya is a small kinda remote town with some nice folks. The Beach in front of this house is visually beautiful but we did not swim there we opted instead to drive a really fun 4x4 road to Mal Pais 7km away which runs next to the nature reserve instead to surf and swim. We also swam on a nice beach on the road to Montezuma. After two runs on the road to Mal Pais it seemed easily traveled, but do not attempt with some familiarity with off road driving in my opinion, road can be rutted in some steap areas, with 3 streams to cross (just go slow). Lots of wildlife along road. We also visited Montezuma and went snorkling on Tortuga Island. As long time boaters in cold waters the journey through the big swells in an open boat with a sputering and stalling engine were to be remembered, in a good way. Glad the water was warm! Nice snorkling. There are nice people in Cabuya. Cemetary Island beckons you to visit. We did not although we had some very vivid dreams in this house, a kind of energy exists in this whole town in my opinion. And it is good. Not luxurious, but clean and does the job nicely. Property has a big gate and lots of room. Owner communicated very well and was a joy to interact with. There is a hazardous tree on the edge of the property, but it caused us no issues at all. We did see monkeys right next to the house a few times along with a very large black cat. There are some sodas and a great bodega right down the street. Suggest you have a 4x4 rented here to visit other areas close by. House is as pictured, simple, and the owner really had a lot of useful information and was wonderful. Costa Rica is so wonderful we are going back again and while looking for another house (this one was boked) I figured I would write a review. To sum this house up: not expensive, not fancy either, great owner and the caretaker Rosa was nice. A clean Tico style house in a less travelled Tico feeling town.
