Our beautiful guest house is fully furnished to host you during your stay in the Bay Area. This free-standing unit is unique in its location in Orinda's selective and safe environment, where you can work, rest and enjoy the natural surroundings. The apartment is located close to the main house designed by NorCal modernist architect Roger Lee. It has a scenic entrance through a Japanese-style garden, and stunning views over a beautiful valley. The apartment is set close to a hill where deers roam free and wild birds fly over the valley. The location offers an unparalleled silent and secluded working/resting environment.
This cozy one-bedroom is fully furnished and equipped to make you feel at home. The living-room has a couch, an office corner, a dining table and opens to an outdoors patio where you can dine and work. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric stove and full-size oven, small oven, microwave, refrigerator, washer-dryer, and plenty of cookware and tableware. The TV is Roku.
Street parking is available at no charge. The outside patio and garden are cleaned on Friday mornings by our gardeners. There is no charge for utilities fr short term stays. Long term stays may require a share of the basic utilities, but internet and gardening are always free.
As for transportation, the apartment is a 4-minute drive from Orinda city center, with its restaurants, shops, cinema, library, BART station and wonderful community infrastructures. We are only a 10 minute-drive from the lively Lafayette city center, while the Berkeley campus is 20 minutes away. The BART station in Orinda offers direct connections to Berkeley, to San Francisco, for world class dining, shopping and cultural attractions, and to the international airport.
