About this property
Artistic hideaway in the heart of the historic district
This newly renovated apartment in a 160 year old Savannah townhouse reflects the contemporary art sense of Savannah. The airy space is artistically decorated to showcase the owners love of travel, light and color. They share their eclectic collection of art and books from all over the world.
This street level apartment is steps from Chatham Square and the Design District and two blocks from Forsyth Park. It is a quiet neighborhood, minutes from a huge selection of restaurants, bars and shops.
The open plan cooking/living/dining space is as comfortable as a work space as it is for relaxing and recharging. The bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub with jets.
The kitchen has been outfitted by a professional chef, and offers a comprehensive selection of tools. But Savannah has so many great restaurants, you'll want to check those out.
The bedroom offers a soft, quiet space to snooze away before another day of exploring Savannah.

Lovely spacious apartment perfect for two adults! Location is perfect, one block from Forsyth Park in one direction and historic Savannah in the other, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Bring your bikes as there is a covered on-site location to stash them! Owner is nearby and is just a peach! Plan a working respite from this location and you will NOT be disappointed!
The apartment had everything you needed including a rice cooker. The kitchen supplies were outstanding including even a knife sharpener. Enjoyed reading several books. And I could enjoy walking to wherever.
A charming, comfortable, ground floor appartement, very well equipped, in a superb location. If you want to get to know Savannah like a local, park your car and take to walking, you’ll soon discover the beautiful architecture and flora of this historic city.
Rubi was fantastic to work with. Always accommodating when we needed to extend our stay. Would highly recommend staying here.

Quaint, cozy, clean and in an ideal location.
This property was exactly what I was looking for, it exceeded my expectations. Rubi made sure all was taken care of regarding parking permits, etc and anything I needed to know. It was truly the best home away from home I could have found while working in a Savannah.

About the host
Hosted by Rubi McGrory
Bill and Rubi McGrory met working in the yachting industry. Their work has taken them all over the world, all while indulging their guests in absolute luxury. Bill skillfully navigated the yacht and guests adventure everywhere from the Great Barrier Reef to the Red Sea to the Caribbean and Mediterranean, while Rubi prepared 5 star cuisine in the galley.
Bill loves tinkering with vintage motorcycles and Rubi has MFA from SCAD. She is a working artist, writer and private chef.
Why they chose this property
Rubi and Bill chose Savannah from all of the places they've lived and visited. Rubi grew up in New England, while Bill hails from Australia, Ireland and London. Savannah is the perfect blend of small city, vibrant art scene, warm hospitality, plenty of trees, temperate climate and close to the ocean.
What makes this property unique
Bill and Rubi completely renovated the apartment in 2008, allowing the light to come in and fill the space with joy. For years the apartment has been home to designers and artists while they furthered their studies. In 2018 and 2020, Rubi again took her artist's touch and refurnished and redecorated it, creating a warm and vibrant home for you to enjoy during your prolonged stay in Savannah.
