About this property

Skiers, Cyclists, Runners! Newly-Built 3 Bedroom House on the MVSTA Trail!

Moose Hollow(a legal, licensed nightly rental with a current Okanogan County health permit as required by law)is a newly-built, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, nestled in the trees, located about 3 miles from Mazama. The home shares in community space that connects to the Methow River and trail system allowing for ski-in, ski-out access to the Methow Valley's renowned trails. You can ski, stroll, ride or run to the popular suspension bridge just one mile away, and/or launch into the miles of trail system. The location is an ideal base camp for the world class outdoor activities that the North Cascades provides.

It is a great house for families and friends to enjoy. The main floor has a great room with the living, dining, and kitchen areas all connected and opens to the covered patio through the french door. The main floor is rounded out by the king bedroom, one full bath, and the mudroom. The vaulted ceiling ties in a loft/writing space on the second floor, which then connects to the queen bedroom and a bedroom with a twin over full (with trundle) bunk bed and a second full bath.

There is a wood burning stove in the great room and miscellaneous games available for relaxing after your adventures. Available entertainment includes a CD player, board games, cards, cribbage board, puzzles, blue tooth speaker, Kuub (Swedish lawn game), and horseshoes. This will be a place you will love to come to enjoy all your favorite Valley activities!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YEAR ROUND TRAVEL INFORMATION--READ BEFORE BOOKING A RESERVATION:
1)It is the responsibility of the guest to have travel plans in place to travel either over the North Cascades via Highway 20 OR to travel over Steven's Pass through Leavenworth OR to travel I-90 over Snoqualmie to Blewett Pass through Wenatchee and then up the Columbia river to the Methow Valley. If one route is closed, it is the YOUR responsibility to make alternate plans for travel. NO REFUNDS will be given at any time of the year simply because an alternate route must be taken and add additional travel time. Highway 20 is closed in the winter and mountain passes can be closed anytime of the year because of wildfires, rockslides or other occurrences. Directions over all the routes will be sent to. you 3 days before your arrival. Make sure to check pass reports(and they can change while you are en route) and print out the directions before you leave.

2)Trail Access/Closure Information:
If you are coming to hike, bike, or ski on a trail or system of trails which happen to be closed before or during your stay, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. Trail closures can occur anytime because of fire, rockslides, mud flows...and we have no control over this. There are many hiking, biking trails of various kinds in the Methow Valley. If access to the North Cascades is closed via Hwy 20 because of any reason, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN because of this. There beautiful hikes in and around our valley that we would be happy to recommend.

INTERNET POLICY..PLEASE NOTE:
**We strive to provide the best internet service we can get here in the very rural Methow Valley. Internet speeds vary throughout the valley and outages or tech issues can occur that we have no control over, and for these reasons NO REFUNDS are given if the internet is problematic. We also do not guarantee that the internet will meet your work/school needs. Should you have an issue with internet service, please send us a message through VRBO describing the problem. We will then contact you to troubleshoot. If the issue is not resolved, we will then contact the internet provider, and/or homeowner. Please note... our valley is very rural and getting service personnel to fix things in a timely manner can be a challenge. We rent lodging, not office space.

Public internet is available at the Winthrop library with enhanced internet speed (parking lot or inside the library). Alternatively, for a fee you can go to the Dropzone in downtown Winthrop. Thank you for your understanding!

IMPORTANT WINTER INFORMATION :
**Should you travel to the Methow during the winter months it is important to understand that you must be prepared for winter driving(keep chains, shovel...in the car) and all the inconveniences it causes you and the community you are visiting. The weather can be extreme with large snowfalls, unexpected technical issues, frozen pipes, impassable roads/driveways). If it snows while here you will have to wait for plow service just like every other person in the valley. There are a limited number of plow companies and Methow Reservations nor the owners of the house are in control of the plow company schedules. They have many different contracts and many miles of roads, driveways...to plow. If a plow person or a snow shoveler shows up to clear any area around the house, please do not argue with them or turn them away. Move your vehicles if asked. Your cooperation and patience are required especially after any significant snow accumulation. Should you get stuck you can call Classic Towing in Twisp, WA

**Propane Fireplace--should there be tech issues or the propane fireplace upon your arrival please send a message through Airbnb. Methow Reservations and the owner will try to troubleshoot and remedy the problem. If the problem requires a part or there is an issue with the propane company that may take longer that your stay, NO REFUNDS will be given.

Great place.

Hi, we enjoyed our stay and hope to come back. Very minor things but I would include kleenex in the bathrooms. Provide better instruction on how to light the wood stove. Leave instructions on how to access the trail from the neighborhood. I label the trashcan with kindling. We arrived with no kindling and just large pieces of wood. Difficult to understand when the flew was open or closed so first night struggled to get the fire going. Found the kindling the next day out by the shed which made all the difference. Otherwise great place and great location.

Great cabin near Mazama and popular hikes!

We loved our stay in this cabin near Mazama. It was very close to the Mazama store and less than 30 mins from Winthrop and popular hikes, but felt very private and secluded. Our group of 7 adults stayed very comfortably here. One piece of advice - it was a little hard to find at night, so go past the home under construction and then take a right, a left, and another right. Also, we thought maybe not all the sheets had been changed prior to arrival - FYI to the hosts for future guests

Girls weekend

Nice place we were happy to not be right in Winthrop. Heat vents in upstairs bedrooms were loud and if you like to cook bring g your own pans. Comfortable beds and space to hang out together. Could use some table lamps.

Sunflower stay

Stayed here for the Sunflower relay and had a great time. The property is great for 2 families with kids. Super close to the Mazama store and other shops and right next to the Mazama community trail which was great for exploring and for cheering on runners. Would certainly stay again.

New, spacious, clean, convenient

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this new mountain home. Nestled in the trees, the house was very quiet and so well insulated from noise as well as outside temperatures (the house remained cool without use of AC despite the outside heat). The rooms were spacious, clean, had plenty of natural light and tree views, and the beds were comfortable. Plenty of room in the well appointed kitchen to easily prepare meals. Easy access to town and trails.

Lovely home, great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home was very comfortable (central a/c!!) and the large windows let in lots of natural light. Great access to the MVSTA trail! The only reason for 4 stars on cleanliness was that the kitchen countertops had a light layer of grease that we had to wipe down when we arrived. Not a big deal. We will return here when the smoke clears!

Great house! Great location

Loved staying here. It was a short walk to the cross country ski trails which provided a ton of fun skiing. The only downside was the bunk bed room had a ton of static electricity. Normally I'd give the house 5 stars, but dropping because of the kids room.

Fantastic house for families

The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The layout of the house worked great for 3 kids and 3 adults. Also the location was great for accessing both the N Cascades and Winthrop. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful stay!

We loved our time in Winthrop, Washington! We found the house to be very clean and comfortable. The setting was remote enough to feel private but close enough to Winthrop's downtown and grocery store to be convenient. Access to the North Cascades Scenic Highway and lots of hiking in the National Park was another plus. The gorgeous drive to the Newhalem Visitor Center was about an hour and 20 minutes and absolutely stunning. Extra bonuses for our family- our teenaged boys loved using the guitar and we had enough wi-fi to use our firestick and all devices. We highly recommend this lovely home!

Great place, very sweet for families

This is truly a lovely place for a relaxing winter getaway with family and friends. The fireplace kept it warm and cozy even when the power went out twice. I would recommend they get a backup generator for when the power goes out. The water doesn’t run with the power out either. The house is very cozy and decorated in a lovely way but parents of young children should note you’ll have to move some things to avoid breaking hazards (eg ceramic vase on table etc). Our kids loved playing in the snow, sleeping in the bunk beds, and watching the kids’ movies there. The location is about a 5 minute drive from the Mazama Store and main ski trailheads, so it is not a walk out the door to ski place. Thanks for the stay!
