About this property
Beautiful lakeside property with full amenities
This lovely lakeside home features three bedrooms and sleeps seven comfortably. There is a large open living room overlooking the lake with a parlor propane stove in the corner and a dining area leading out to the upper deck. The spacious kitchen has a gas stove top, an electric oven, a microwave, a free-standing island, and is fully loaded with all the cooking equipment you'll need. The master bedroom on the first floor sports a king-sized bed and a direct entry to the upper deck. The master bath is newly-renovated, with a tub/shower combination. Upstairs are two more bedrooms containing two queen-size beds and a single, with another bathroom between them.
This home comes with air conditioning (yes, occasionally even desired in Maine!), cable, and wi-fi. The upper deck just outside the dining area connects to a lower deck, which is practically on the water. From there it's a few steps to the dock, where you can jump in or launch the two kayaks provided.
Many people think of a "pond" as being a small swimming hole. But Taylor Pond is a pristine Maine lake about a mile and a half long and three quarters of a mile wide. It's big enough for swimming, boating and fishing, but small enough to be not crowded with large motor boats or jet skis. Although you'll feel like you're "away from it all" here, you are only 10 minutes away from local shopping, cinema, golf and mini-golf. Also within easy reach are restaurants of every variety, from fast-food to elegant. The Bates College campus is also only 10 minutes away. Come enjoy the best of both worlds!

About the host
Hosted by Susan Trask
We are Susan and Woody and we have lived on Taylor Pond for the last 30 years. In every season of the year we feel so fortunate to be living on this beautiful lake! We purchased this property next door to us on the pond in 2017 and are excited to be able to share it with others who appreciate being on the water.
Why they chose this property
From living here, we know firsthand the joys and benefits of lakeside living. In the summer, we love to swim, kayak, fish, sail, and take the grandkids tubing and waterskiing. The property faces west and we get the most amazing sunsets over the lake. In spite of the fact that this feels like a remote location, we are only an easy 10 minute drive to shopping, golf and mini-golf, cinema and a variety of restaurants -- from fast food to elegant. Portland and the coast of Maine are within a 45 minute drive and LLBean in Freeport is just 30 minutes away. Are you visiting Bates College? It's a short 10-minute hop away!
What makes this property unique
This home has a charming décor with rustic wide pine floors in the living/dining area and slate tiles in the kitchen and entryway. There is a propane parlor stove in the living room and the house has four zone air conditioning. Yes, even in Maine it's nice to have air conditioning occasionally! There are two outside decks, one just outside the dining area and the other located practically on the water with easy access to the dock.
