Lovely and relaxing two bedroom hideaway overlooking Manokin River and unspoiled marshes; five minutes from gas, groceries and restaurants, but light years from stress and worry. Short drive to Crisfield, Salisbury and Ocean City. Excellent venue for hunters, college parents, nature lovers and photographers. Elevated views of river and marshland; eagles, herons and assorted wildlife abound. Quiet enjoyment of nature with all modern conveniences (the loudest noise you will hear is your relaxed sigh of relief).

This private get-away features two full bedrooms, one full bathroom, full kitchen, laundry, and tv. We do have internet for basic use but ask that you do not stream on the wifi as it is data limited; easy designated parking. Comfortably sleeps four, plus a sleeper sofa in the common room. Watch the sunrise over the marsh from the living room and deck; watch sunset over Manokin from large dining area window.

A nature lover's retreat

This place could not be more perfect. This was our only weekend away for the summer for our family (couple, 19-yr old son, and grandmother) and it lived up to and exceeded our expectations from the description on the website. The house is immaculate, nicely designed, warm, and comfortable. Everything is well-organized and easy to find. (In fact, we were impressed that anything we needed was here, and yet the house is uncluttered.) The large center table in the kitchen makes it easy to cook. We spent most of our time on the deck with beautiful views of the marshes. All we heard were sounds of birds (including ducks in the evening) and crickets. There is a nice table by the back window which one of us was able to use for writing while the other three sat on the deck and in the living room which also looks out on the marshes. The place was welcoming when we arrived with ceiling fans going (in addition to the wonderfully cool AC) and local ice cream in the freezer. We texted Bridget with occasional questions about places to go in the area and she responded immediately. We are already checking calendars to see when we can return.

A lovely respite

The apartment is in a beautiful setting with views out over an expansive marsh to the Manokin river, with a spacious and private deck to enjoy it all . Large quality sliding doors in the living area afford a great view from the living, kitchen and dining area. Although we'd planned an afternoon of walks, we found ourselves unable to leave the comfort of the deck with it's captivating views across the marsh, and the myriad of birds (even spied a bald eagle perched in the tree). The apartment is comfortable and stylishly decorated, and is well equipped with upscale appliances and amenities. The wireless internet was fast and responsive. We were only able to stay for a few short days, but look forward to an opportunity to return for a longer visit.

Beautiful getaway!

This was by far one of our best rentals! The hosts provided everything we needed, was quick to respond to messages, and the location was wonderful! We were able to easily take one day trips to Ocean City and Chincoteague. The apartment was even more beautiful than the photos, with all new appliances and very comfortable beds. The area was quiet and peaceful; just what we wanted for a weekend getaway. Would definitely recommend! 10/10!

Great House with a Fantastic View

Our experience at this property couldn't have been better. The house was in pristine condition upon arrival... and the legend is true... there is a pint of local ice cream waiting in the freezer! The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had everything needed to make our stay comfortable and was able to answer any and all questions in a super fast manner. The house itself had an amazing view of the marsh/water. We were lucky enough to regularly see bald eagles fly by a few times a day. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted a super clean/quiet house to relax and catch in a great view!

Beautiful location

The property is just beautiful with a balcony overlooking the marsh. The interior is pristine and had everything we needed, including a container of local ice cream in the freezer. All in all it was a lovely place to stay and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of their life.

Best Rental Ever

This was, hands down, the best experience we’ve ever had using any of the rental apps. The place is beautiful, clean, and has everything you need to relax and enjoy the eastern shore. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and helpful... they could give a class in hospitality to other rental properties. Seriously delightful. Book this place and you won’t regret it.

Beautiful, relaxing place

Staying at this very well-appointed property was a treat. Waking up to coffee on the deck overlooking the beautiful marsh was relaxing, restorative and a perfect way to unwind. The hostess has thought of everything and the home is extremely well appointed and organized. The unexpected, but totally appreciated ice cream from the local dairy was an added treat. Wonderful place - would definitely stay again!! Thank you.

If you love mother nature, you'll love this place.

With spectacular natural beauty and a charming living space, this rental is a real gem. It was very easy communicating with Bridget, the place was immaculate, and the locally brewed beer in the refrigerator was a very nice addition. We watched a beautiful thunderstorm roll across the horizon. We saw a bald eagle. I wish we could have stayed longer. I hope we can come back.

Beautiful Manokin Marsh House Get-Away

Wife, me and two friends wanted a quiet get-away where we could stage ourselves for exploration of the Southern Delmarva and Salisbury area. We could not have made a better choice than this charming two-bedroom, all-included refuge from the busy city work-a-day world. From the outside, very little hints at what awaits. Your initial view is of a garage (a nice garage, but still a garage) with windows and window-boxes of flowers up above the car storage area. Then you walk around behind and see there is a nice deck overlooking unspoiled marshland that once dominated all of coastal Delmarva. Up the stairs you enter the apartment through sliding glass doors that give 24/7 views of nature. The living area is furnished in stylish rattan seemingly plucked from the most elegant of sun-rooms. A mid-sized TV sits ready for anyone bored of looking down at the river and marshland below (we did not; the TV stayed off our whole visit). Beyond the living room area is the full kitchen (stove refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, sink, counter space and cabinets, etc.). And Beyond that is a four-set dining table at the window looking west out over the main house and another view of the marsh as the Manokin river wends it way unconcernedly to the Bay (sunsets are magnificent through this window). Colorful curtains conceal a full washer/dryer if you stay long enough to need laundry. Bedrooms branch off from this main living area--one to the south and one to the north. The south bedroom is decorated in "Napa Valley" fashion, informed by the owners' love of America's premier wine district. The other decorated "India" style, with art and artifacts from travel in that region. All is tastefully done; pleasant, attractive and relaxing. One well-appointed full bathroom serves the apartment. Unless you travel with strangers who can't bear someone having shared the shower or sink, this is more than sufficient for a group of two or four. Weather permitting, the deck may be where you will spend most of your stay. From the outdoor furniture here you see nothing before you but unspoiled nature--craggy trees lining the lazy river; marshland that fills and empties of water as the tides from the nearby Bay ebb and flow. Birds abound, especially the Eagles who like to perch atop the bleached limbs of long-dead long-leaf pines and surveil their domain. From this base, all of Southern Delmarva and its charming towns and beaches are within an easy reach.

Really nice home...stunning property!!!

This 2 bed home is perfect for a weekend away. It is at least a half mile off the main road and is surrounded by trees and the river. It is so relaxing to enjoy the river views with a cup of coffee and not hear or see another human anywhere around you! The river is perfect for kayaking, although it was too cold for us to attempt this. The home is clean and spacious. It has everything you need (including reliable internet) for a week or weekend away!
