Peaceful and cozy cottage

This was a delightful cottage. It was warm and inviting. We loved everything about Cottontail Cottage. Our host, Peter, was very charming and went out of his way to welcome us. He even returned a sweater I had left there. This cottage was so close to everything we were interested in. The farm across the street was very enjoyable to watch. The flowers blooming everywhere were just lovely to see. We loved sitting on the front porch for morning coffee and watching the fog lift. The warm blanket was a welcome comfort in the evening sitting on the porch. This was a very much needed getaway for us. We look forward to returning again. Also, the cookies were scrumptious!!! Thank you for opening Cottontail Cottage to us.

Little Mountain Gem

We had so much fun staying in this cottage. It was convenient to access property(no steep, curvy roads or small parking places), very clean, and everything you need to enjoy a mountain stay. Our favorite parts were the screened porch with beautiful view, the short walk to and around Black Rock Mountain Lake, and the matching recliners!! The location is great. Brasstown Bald, Ana Ruby Falls, Talulah Gorge were three places we visited and enjoyed hikes. Black rock Mountain has great trails, too. Peter met us and showed us around the cottage. Can’t wait to visit again.

Absolutely Awesome

This cottage is one of a kind. We have stayed at many VRBO rentals and this one was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked like no other, the rooms were clean, the screen porch was a great way to start our morning especially since it rained the whole week. All of the personal touches were remarkable. The information manual was so well put together. We will return to this cottage for sure.

Winter weekend in the mountains

Peter and Debbie are wonderful hosts and the cabin is lovely. It has everything you need with lots of attention to details. Peter and Debbie met us at the cabin for a late check-in and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Cottontail Cottage

Well worth it!! The Cottage is lovely, comfortable, well equipped for any of our needs. Our host assured us of his help if needed. He has assembled a book of resources throughout the region ,we could use for recreation, groceries, interests, anything we'd want to explore during our stay. We ended each day with a fun walk around Black Rock Lake nearby.

Fantastic cabin in the Georgia hill country

Our trip to Rabun Gap was to attend a local car show, three old married guys traveled without spouses from New England. Having spent several days driving antique cars we were ready for a break from the road and this house was exactly what the doctor ordered! Our hosts have done a fantastic job with the house, it was equipped with everything we could have asked for. Plus, they keep the house immaculate, it didn't come off as a rental property at all. My wife and I rent a lot of VRBO/AirB&B houses, and from my experience this property is as good as they get. After checking in we had no reason to bother our hosts for anything, I wish I could say that about all the hosts we rent from! Evenings on the screened in front porch listening to the crickets with a nightcap in hand were delightful. We even found a big plate of homemade cookies waiting for us, yum! I highly recommend this property, if we find our way back to the area I would rebook this house in a heartbeat!

Cottontail Cottage, Rabun County, GA

Overall, a wonderful stay. The cottage was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The highlight was definitely the screened-in porch. I'll fondly remember cool crisp mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee, overlooking the bucolic vista of the vegetable farm and the cows wandering along the grass on the hill across the field, while the Smoky Mountains slowly emerged from the mist. The cottage had everything we needed including a well-equipped kitchen, clean linens, comfortable sofas, and lots of floor space for our four legged family member. The owner, Peter, went above and beyond when we arrived late; he met us at the cottage and showed us all the little details that helped make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. The location was great as well, close enough to the main highway to be convenient to route 23, but far enough away that you really felt like you were out in the country. We hope to return sometime.

This was our second stay here at Cottontail and we absolutely hope to return again and again. So relaxing and has everything you would need. Loved the new oven and fully loaded kitchen. Thank you Deb and Peter for being such gracious and accommodating folks. We enjoyed visiting Helen, Ana Ruby Falls and the local golf was fantastic also. The Mexican food was so good and generous portions. Loved their Carnitas, refried beans, rice and guacamole was best ever. Can’t wait to come back and thanks again Deb and Peter for all the comforts and hospitality you provided!

Very clean. Great location. Owners were awesome. Flowers and cookies were very much appreciated. There was nothing else they could have provided. They had tons of helpful info really appreciated that. Our rafting trip was canceled and we didn't catch any fish but still rank this cabin as one of the best. We will be back soon.

Loved Cottontail Cottage

Perfect getaway in Clayton Ga. Love the Wolffork valley. We took the backroads from wolffork to Hiawassee and Helen. Roads we had never seen before which is what we love to do. Downtown Clayton was awesome for shopping and eating! Clayton Cafe has the best breakfast!! Thank you Peter and Debbie for the homemade cookies and the fresh flowers. You guys are awesome host. When we called because the tv wasn’t working you answered and saw to it immediately. Again, thank you for a perfect week and sharing your beautiful home with us. Valley Life

Lovely cottage, clean, great views of mountains and the valley. Nature sounds - birds beginning to nest. Cows moo in the pasture across the road. Lots of farming preparation getting underway in the valley. Beautiful waterfall just before the cottage.

All you need to know is that I am a picky person when it comes to rentals when we travel. I am a detail person in everything. This place was great in ALL aspects of a vaca rental. The host are wonderful and his wife makes the best cookies!!!

Gorgeous View! Super clean! Great hosts! Already booked again!

Wow, we had the best time with our friends! The view was inspiring and the cabin was soooo comfy and clean! Everything we needed was provided and it was so easy to get to, unlike other places we've stayed in the mountains. We enjoyed hiking, exploring downtown and eating out, but the best times were sitting in front of the fireplace drinking hot chocolate and laughing with our friends. This was the very best getaway, we feel recharged to go back to work and we've already booked another stay!

This has been a perfect getaway in the mountains! Rabun County and Cottontail Cottage are absolutely gorgeous! Our favorite moments have been sitting on the front porch rockers taking in the gorgeous view and sitting in front of the fireplace each night. We took a few day trips which were wonderful. I think I took 3 rolls of film in the 4 days we were here. We will have to save the rest for next year when we plan on coming back to Cottontail Cottage! Thank you for your hospitality.
