Cozy beach cottage located in the Maritime Forest, nestled in the Ibis Roost community is conveniently located near the Beach, Market and a private community Pool. "A Great Escape" is a beautifully decorated 3 bedroom/3 full bathroom cottage with a quiet island location and accessories that are ideal for families.

A spacious floor plan features open living/dining space with an assortment of books, videos, and board games. A den on the first floor with a sleeper sofa and sliding barn door for privacy. A bright, cheerful sunroom is located off of the main living area and overlooks the maritime forest. Large front porch for those just wanting to sit and relax.

Cable TV and Internet Service with a strong WiFi signal. Large flat screen TVs in all rooms

Access provided to the Ibis Roost community pool, which can only be used by Ibis Roost families and their guests (30 homes) and is just a 1 minute walk away. Bald Head Island Club Lifestyle Membership is available separately (use of the pool, playground, children's spray ground, restaurants, fitness center, golf, tennis, croquet (for a fee).

Great spot but things should be tested first

The garage door did not function. We were able to get it open once with a bit of a struggle. After we closed it we were unable to get it open again. We tried troubleshooting all morning. We call the property manager to troubleshoot as well (and asked for the key to unlock it) They sent someone who came without a key. We lost access to beach chairs, bikes, and the golf cart for most of the day, our only full day on the island, as we didn’t want to keep waiting around for it to be fixed. Definitely disappointed with that, but otherwise grateful for the house.

My stay at 14 Ibis roost

The property was clean. Everything was in his place. The carts Were entirely perfect as was 95% of this property. I only criticism the small kitchen with no pantry. It was well stocked with silverware and dishes.

Great Stay!

Great house to spend a vacation at BHI. Spacious and very accommodating! I love that the 3 bedrooms/bathrooms were all spaced apart. The screened in porch was a perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee and drinks before dinner. We had absolutely no complaints other than we needed a few more days to enjoy the place and the island more!

We had a great time with the family!!

We spent a week in the island, had a great time exploring the island with the golf carts. Enjoyed the pool and the house was clean and well equipped!!

Great place to stay!

We had a wonderful visit to this cottage! Bikes were included and fun to use on the street/cul de sac. Very convenient location. The house was well stocked with everything we needed!

A Spacious and Welcoming Home

We enjoyed our time in this bright and comfortable home tucked away in the Maritime forest. It provided everything we needed, and more. The golf carts were both in good working order, and we could look forward to relaxing on the amazing screened in porch for evening meals at the end of each day of exploring. There were staples aplenty for fixing meals, laundry facilities, very good beds and manageable temperature control. The decor was cheerful and relaxing. There were some palmetto bugs that emerged and I suppose that's to be expected when staying in a forest so luxuriant with growth. Thanks for a great escape!

Peaceful and clean

Everything related to the house went well. The only problem we had was with the tram. There was miscommunication and the tram picked as up almost 3 hours later than planned.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

For our family of 5, this house was perfect. My 14 year old enjoyed having the upstairs to himself and my girls (11 & 9) enjoyed the bedroom tucked away in the back part of the house along with their own bathroom. The master suite was great for me and my husband. The kitchen was well stocked and even had a crock pot, which we used for a roast! The house was well stocked with linens and games for the family. We had plenty of tv’s and sitting areas to spread out and relax. We would certainly stay here again. For a 3 night 4 day stay, this house was perfect.

Perfect stay, will be back!

Our experience at The Great Escape was everything we had hoped for and then some. The house was exceptionally clean, and the set up was perfect for our family of 5 (perfectly suited for 3 small children with the high chair, pack n play, toys, etc). As soon as the dates become available, we will be booking this house again for next year!

Spacious, Sunny house in quiet neighborhood

House is roomy and there is a neighborhood pool. Front yard is overgrown so hard to read the address and kitchen is tiny, beds are full not queen size,but other than that great.

Great Family Getaway

The size of this cottage was perfect for our family. The house was stocked with lots of extras that made our stay comfortable. The beach towels, chairs, sand toys and cooler made our times at the beach a hit. The golf carts and bikes were a fun way to get around the island. We would recommend to anyone!

Wonderful stay!

We loved our first trip to Bald Head and our long weekend at The Great Escape. The setting was very peaceful and we liked that the neighborhood had a pool. The house was so nice and bright with plenty of room, and we hope to return with more of our family in the future. One suggestion would be to have a lamp or two to use on the screened porch because there is no overhead light and it was a little dark. Also, there wasn't dishwasher or laundry detergent when we arrived, but a quick call to the property folks resolved that easily. Another problem was that the unit was supposed to have a hairdryer, but there was none to be found. The property folks offered to bring one early Monday morning, but that was the day of our check out. I was able to borrow one from a friend who is a resident on the island -- it was inconvenient (and a "hat day" for sure!) But overall, we loved the Great Escape!

Vacation with kids

Great house! Was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Property management company was very responsive and helpful. Quick ride to the beach, marina and Bald Head Island Club. This was our first trip to the island with small children and we had a great time!

Fantastic Stay

We had a great visit and the property was wonderful. Bikes were in great condition and we really enjoyed them. Layout was great--plenty of space for all, and location was central to everything. Pool in the neighborhood was a nice bonus too. We'll be back!

Ideal Maritime Forest Location

Perfect space for 4 adults and two kids! The house has a wonderful layout that allows for multiple relaxing options and numerous windows to let in the light and see the glorious flora and fauna all around. Well outfitted kitchen and comfy decor. Handmade soaps are a lovely touch in the bathrooms. Two golf carts for plenty of sightseeing.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere and home

This home was excellent to stay in. We were very pleased with the space. My favorite spot was the back sitting room- reading since it was chilly in January at night. One downside was the kitchen was extremely small but very well equipped and organized. Only one person could essentially be in the kitchen.

Wonderful Weekend Away!!

We had a wonderful stay on Ibis Roost. We were 3 families with 4 children under 2 and found the house a perfect size. Well equipped with one high chair and a pack n play. Not too many hazards to baby proof for the girls. Once we got the golf cart situation worked out (the large cart wasn’t charging properly but the property manager promptly sent a new cart and solved the issue) it was a lovely 5-7 min cart ride to beach access. 5 min to the grocery store (be advised they have special senior shopping hours that don’t align with their google hours). 12-15 mins to Jules. Pros: The house was very clean and well stocked! The rooms were spacious and also well stocked with extra pillows and blankets. The kitchen was also full of cooking utensils, serving dishes, and random spices. Tons of dining space, indoor and outdoor. Lovely screened in porch. Lots of beach chairs and towels available to borrow. Cons: the kitchen is REALLY small. Like, two people is a crowd type of small. And if you want to be in the dishwasher and the fridge at the same time, good luck... it’s not happening. But honestly, that was not a deal breaker, just a little inefficient.
