The cabin was the best. It was quiet and relaxing. It was big enough for 6 adults.
Can't say enough good things about our stay. Just wish it was closer to Wyoming so we could use it more.
Our communication with the owner was great.
Thank you for a great trip.
Very comfortable and great location near SW Harbor downtown. The back porch is great for morning coffee and evening drinks. Would definitely stay again!
This is a great location and Southwest Harbor is a great area. Lots to do nearby-we hiked, biked, and enjoyed Acadia. We loved the neighborhood and it was very private but in walking distance to restaurants. The owners were so kind and helpful. The house has everything you need and is so comfortable. A beautiful setting. We hope to come back and we would definitely stay here again.
The place was great with many extra amenities. The location was also great, central to many things to do. We enjoyed family games around the table each evening. We didn't want to leave.
Great cabin in Southwest Harbor. Our family of three (two adults, one teen) thoroughly enjoyed our week here. A 10 mins to the downtown of Southwest Harbor with the library, restaurants, and Island Explorer shuttle bus (the 7 takes you right to Bar Harbor) but incredibly quiet and restful. Big deck for stargazing and lounging in the hammock. Easy drive to many family friendly hikes (Ship Harbor, Flying Mountain).
I can't say enough positive things about our week staying at Mike and Dee's cabin. The location is perfect and exactly what my family was looking for on the quieter side of the island. The cabin is very warm and welcoming and is hugged by a number of beautiful trees. It is so peaceful and private, yet close enough to town to walk. The cabin had pretty much anything you would need. We loved Acadia and hope to have another visit in the future! Thank you Mike and Dee for sharing your cabin!
We felt right at home thanks to Mike and Dee’s thoughtfulness and recommendations. The cabin felt as though we were staying at our grandparents that wanted us to enjoy and love the area as much as they do. We appreciated all the art from local artist in the house. There were two families, 4 adults and 4 kids(13 to 6) and we felt we had plenty of room. The deck around the house and perfect temperatures allowed us to spread out. We enjoyed walking down to the cove and harbor and getting ice cream in town. I wish I would have brought bikes to explore around more. A lot of what we did was within a few minutes of cabin(lighthouse, echo lake, flying mtn hike). Getting to Acadia main entrance and Bar Harbor was easy and now I can’t imagine staying anywhere but on the quiet side of the island!

A Wonderful Relaxing Spot
Six other members of my family and I (seven total) stayed at 'the cabin' for the first week of September 2007, and we all agreed that it was perhaps the best vacation that we have ever taken. The house was perfect, and exactly as stated. It has so much character on the inside and on the outside. There's a huge deck outside where we lounged around while waiting for the food to cook on the grill. The backyard is secluded and is well-shaded and has a large picnic table. The house is located 5 blocks or so from downtown Southwest Harbor which is a lovely town with a fantastic bakery, little grocery store, awesome pizza place, a hip (slightly yuppie) wine bar, and a terrific breakfast place and several other restaurants. We started every morning by walking into town to get coffee of to just smell the salty breeze coming off the harbor. I would without hesitation reccomend this home to anyone vacation on Mt. Desert Island.
Lovely and well maintained home. Had everything we needed. Beautiful decks were wonderful for relaxing. Southwest Harbor “quietside” area is perfect home base for explorIng the island!
Excellent cabin! Close to everything, yet perfectly secluded for privacy.
Two friends and I stayed at this cabin for a week. It has a great rustic feeling (but with all the modern conveniences) that you'd want from a cabin at the edge of Acadia.
It had everything we needed during our stay. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware, dishes, flatware, etc. There's plenty of bath towels, sheets and there's even some board games in addition to 2 TVs and wireless internet. The house is extremely clean and well maintained. It's evident the owners take care of it and have owned it for a while because there are a lot of little touches that make it feel special. The wraparound deck is great and has several seating areas. This is a house where you can mingle with your friends but it also provides enough outdoor space so you can find a spot of your own if you want to quietly read a book. One morning I sat outside watching a deer graze in the yard and that was a real treat given that it was no more than 30 feet from me and knew I was there. The location is excellent. Even though it's just a 10 minute walk into town you'd never know it when you're at the cabin because it's so peaceful and quiet. In short, this place is a great find.
Great location. Wooded lot, shaded deck. Everything you need is in the cabin.

Retired couple who are getting to enjoy our wonderful home in June and come back in Sept and Oct. During July and August we are in the Pocono Mts where we get to enjoy our grandsons.
Why they chose this property
We bought this home because it was on a quiet street in a great little town , away from the crowds of Bar Harbor, and still close enough to enjoy the park and all it's beauty.
What makes this property unique
The peace and quiet of our cabin and sitting outside on our large wrap around deck. Enjoy the birds , take a walk or just sit and read a book.
