Escape the hustle and bustle of the busy city, here at Persimmon Green you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the country side. There is no better place than the heart of Leicester to enjoy a getaway vacation of pure relaxation. This fanciful home is located on seventy-five acres of mountainous farmland, on which you will find hiking trails, ponds and an abundance of wildlife. Experience the beauty of Western North Carolina right from the covered decks

The house has 2 stories that are completely tiled with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths with a garden tub, 2 living rooms, full kitchen, bar area, carport, and covered decks.
There are marked trails and roads that you can walk on. Mini greenhouses and gardens and ponds that you can enjoy the evening by. The yellow poplar trees are home to hummingbirds that are found regularly feeding within eyesight.
This is a working farm and you will be able to harvest some goodies for dinner when the vegetables are in season. You will be able to interact with farmers as this is an agritourism site.
Icenhower road is excellent for taking long walks on. Over the years there have been many bicycle races and bicycle clubs that pass by here. For motorcyclists, you can ride the Rattlesnake which is a beautiful 10-mile ride from here and is full of twisty turns. Visit Downtown Asheville NC, is only a quick 20-minute ride. There is ample parking for horse trailers

We loved the porch with amazing views. The birds and quietness were peaceful. We enjoyed the lower level. The whole place however, had a tired feeling. Some remotes that did not work, and DVDs we could not play. There were wood bees that were everywhere on the porch. Some places not real clean including coffee pot which still had coffee remains, also the bedspread didn't seem fresh, and rugs not vacuumed. We resent paying large cleaning/property fees.

Amazing get away

Our stay was incredible, the house was clean and cozy. Persimmon green had everything the listing described and more. Staying here truly felt like we lived on the farm in the best way possible. Highly recommend!

This place is a deal. Beautiful view of rolling green hills and thw mountains beyond. Remote (so don't count on great internet connectivity), but Asheville is only about 25min away. Lots of bird-watching opportunities, and cool hiking trails on the property. One of our party uses a rollator and had full access to the main floor. My only complaint would be cleanliness. In particular, the downstairs shower and shower liner had mildew present, and the microwave above the oven was quite messy. Other than that it was a great stay.

Winter Getaway

Overall the property was up to date and clean. Beautiful master bedroom suite was quite large. We enjoyed the wrap around deck. We were expecting a hot tub and a Jacuzzi bathtub. No hot tub as shown on the amenities list. I would recommend investing some money in to the linens, bathroom rugs and bedding. As luxurious as the tile floor as throughout the home, it was those items that brought down the comfort of our stay. The views and atmosphere were great. Nice seeing the cows and sheep in the pastures. Our family and 2 dogs enjoyed the stay overall. I would recommend that you take care of the broken staircase that goes down to the lower level as it could be quite hazardous.

Beautiful Farm Vacation

The house and property are wonderful! We enjoyed the house and the sights and sounds of the farm. We made friends with our neighbors the small herd of cows on the property. The house had everything we needed. We appreciate the down stairs could accommodate some extra friends or family and allow them to have their own space. We enjoyed mornings and afternoons on the deck taking in all the beautiful scenery. I enjoyed hiking the trail right behind the house and finding the astounding view from the campsite area. We are looking forward to bring our daughter and her family some time. I would love to spend a night at the camp site with them. We definitely are looking forward to staying again. again.

Really nice home situated on a hill overlooking the farm. A nice balcony to enjoy sunrise and morning coffee. Very comfortable beds. Owner was available and ready for any questions. We enjoyed and had close proximity to Asheville for restaurants.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. The scenery was beautiful and it was peaceful and quiet. We loved waking up and eating breakfast out on the porch and watching the sun rise and hearing the birds. Also the fireflies at night was truly magical. The house is very spacious, especially the master bedroom and bathroom!

Beauty and Relaxation

Thank you, Ronnie, for a lovely vacation! The house was large and allowed our teens their own space downstairs. The kitchen was well appointed, too! Waking up to the songbirds and beautiful views was such a treat! Nice hiking trail right behind the house! Beautiful view from the campground and the farm and surrounding area are beautiful! We were truly able to relax and have the best of both worlds! 20 minutes to West Asheville and less than 30 minutes to downtown! Great location!

BEWARE!!!Stay Away From This Property

Upon arrival I had to contact host for access code to door.. Upon entry, we had to kill several bugs on the kitchen floor.. The place was so outdated and worn out. The house was built 20 yrs ago according to the host, and he was not kidding.. The house and its furnishing were absolute garbage. The furniture was stained and very worn out. We booked for 2 nights and after the first night we left. The mattresses were stained and very old..They were very uncomfortable and we never slept that night. The oven was the original and it was soooo, dirty that I wouldn't cook anything, even for my dog.. I guess I could write a novel on this terrible experience... I have camped in better places than this dump. I called customer service and complained and they couldn't care less...I should get a full refund for this terrible experience... BEWARE OF THE POSTED PICTURES OF THIS PROPERTY!!!!!!!

Beautiful Location

We were visiting for a wedding in Leicester, and were lucky to find this property. Beautiful overlook of the farm property with a great view during leaf season. We woke up every morning to see the sunrise over the mountains. Ronnie was helpful in getting us situated as traffic delayed us until after dark. Persimmon Green is a great location within driving distance to everything while still being secluded enough for some peace and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

Hi! I'm Ronnie. Local to WNC for 3 generations, our family acquired this property for farmland in the 70s. Myself and my siblings were raised here, as were my children. You might even see the grandchildren running around or swimming in the pond. I'm as comfortable on the farm as I am on my motorcycle. I love to ride. Don't hesitate to ask me anything!
