Perfect weekend getaway with great fishing experience
We had a great time a the Mama Bear Cabin. It was so cozy and had everything we needed. The fishing spot the owner shared with us worked out great, we were able to catch some salmon and stock up the freezer. We didn't want to leave.
Had everything we needed. Property owners were great. With this being our first trip to Alaska they helped us set up multiple adventures. The fishing on the river was awesome and Joe was very helpful getting us all set up and even came down to help us get started. Excellent place, Excellent hosts.
Fishing in Alaska was on Dad's bucket list. I booked the Mama Bear cabin not really knowing the area. Joe was a great host and showed us where to fish and had equipment for us to rent. Very helpful and a guininely nice person, as well as his son. Couldnt ask for a better stay. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.
We had a great time and loved staying in the cabin. We would for sure come back! I would suggest getting a fan installed or something because the bed without the window it gets very hot up there at night. Also a price list of how much it is to rent gear. We misunderstood that renting gear would be $20/person per day we thought it was $20/day for us so that ended up costing much more than planned. Otherwise beautiful cabin great location. We would love to bring our families and parents back here for another adventure.

Nice tranquil cabin
The cabin is about 30 minutes outside of Soldotna. Clean design, perfect for 3 people but doable with 4. Great amenities, shower, tv, refrigerator, freezer, grill.
