Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants.

There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.

The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.

Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.

The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.

Lovely location - with a few flaws
We loved our stay here and the flaws were minor. But they were, still, slight annoyances. We arrived in the late afternoon, right at check-in time (4:00pm) and followed the direction to get in the front door. Annoyance #1: Once you find the key in the lockbox, actually getting the front door unlocked and open is a challenge. Judging from the comments left in the guest book, this has been an ongoing annoyance for years. Annoyance #2: It was chilly when we arrived and we looked for instructions on how to turn on the heat. There were none. There are two free-standing AC units for hot days, but for cold days...how does one warm the house upon arrival? I texted the listed contact number and got no response. After some searching, we found the baseboard heaters and turned the dials to start them warming up. A simple note would have helped us locate them sooner. Annoyance #3: The back door, leading to the hot tub, is always locked from the outside. If you close it on the way out to the tub and you're the last person leaving the house, you'll be locked out. Annoyance #4: The main full bath upstairs has just one vanity that appears to have been built for a small child. Yes, these things are minor. We laughed and rolled with the punches. Knowing these things in advance, we would still likely stay here again. The location is great, and the proximity to places for hiking, biking, and sightseeing is superb. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds were comfortable.

Quiet & relaxing
This house is close to town but has a country feel. The spacious deck and private hot tub are quiet and relaxing. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed including coffee beans and grinder. We found the bed to be super comfortable. We found this rental to be a good value.

Baja Norte
Beautiful home with spacious bedrooms. Loved this home! Was very private and just far enough away from town to be able to enjoy peace and quiet. Very central to hiking trails, restaurants and wineries. This home was 5 star clean and well stocked. The hot tub was clean and maintained. We hope to visit and stay again next year. Thank you

Hood River hideaway
Baja Norte was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with friends. It is very quiet and secluded yet close to town and all of the activities. The kitchen was very well appointed and our dog really appreciated the fully enclosed yard.

A lovely little cabin
The house smelled (and was) very clean upon arrival. The hot tub was in excellent condition. It is a very well-maintained property. The bed was ok and there was a strange mis-mash of glasses at the house. I would definitely stay again.

Log cabin charm
Overall excellence. Rustic cabin is part of the vibe. Would've appreciated info on heating (instructions on baseboard heaters, given no thermostat, tips for lighting wood stove or whether flue had damper to open). A bit noisy given nature of upstairs floorboards, but overall liked the home, loved the setting, enjoyed the hot tub, well-stocked kitchen. Would rent again!

Perfect Relaxing Retreat!
Our stay was all about relaxing and playing music in a beautiful location. The woodburning stove was an awesome feature for a winter retreat, and the hot tub was clean and hot - everything you'd want. The house was only about a 10 minute drive to downtown, so it was super convenient. 10 out of 10!

Lovely cabin!
Lovely, cozy cabin. Easy to access. Hassle-free check-in. Very well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels and linens, and bonus - they were super nice quality and clean! Loved the reading nook, all the greenery. One small thing that would help is some kind of way to know for sure that the hot tub will def be available before booking. Would def come back!

2 day stay for a wedding
We really enjoyed our stay. The home was spacious, lots of comfy seating, and so clean. It was easy to find things in the kitchen due to all the nice labeling. Kitchen was super clean. The beds were comfortable with nice pillows and linens. The dining room was well lit and roomy. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the nice big back deck. The setting was private and so pretty with all the tall trees. We felt like we were in a forest. We would definitely stay again. The only minor feedback would be brighter lighting given the dark wood walls and the doors and windows are hard to open and close.

Great place to stay
Baja Norte was everything we could have asked for! It had everything we needed and more. The fully stocked kitchen and plentiful towels and linens were awesome to have and the ~multiple~ working AC units and several fans kept the place at the perfect temperature for us. As others said, the doors/door knobs can get a little tricky on the front door and upstairs bathroom but they didn't cause any real issues. The kitchen knives are dull but as long as you're careful, they didn't hinder anything. There was plenty of space for all of us the jacuzzi was AWESOME. Would absolutely stay here again!

4 Star
Location was great. This house was super cute and cozy and had everything you needed. The only reason is it is getting a 4 star is because the beds were hard as a rock so no one got a good nights sleep and there was no starter for the fire place and it took awhile for the house to heat up. Other than that it was a beautiful location.

Great stay!
Baja Norte is a warm, cozy, and inviting rental. We had everything we needed. The house was clean, the kitchen was very well stocked, and everything was in good working order. The beds were comfy. I went to use the hot tub, but found the water was cloudy so I opted not to use it. I know it's serviced regularly (the service person come by they day we were leaving, but didn't speak with him), so I'm not sure if cloudy water is an issue or not...it just didn't look right. It's just a 10 minute drive into the heart of Hood River, yet it feels remote and very cabin-like. I also really appreciate that they use free & clear laundry detergent for linens, as I am sensitive to synthetic fragrance and it's often an issue in other rentals. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Hood River.

Lovely log cabin for dog owners
We booked this cabin primarily so we could bring our dog and it was perfect. There is a very large fenced yard and a very large deck and our dog enjoyed running around. The house is very well stocked with nice linens and towels. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed to cook all our meals. Only two suggestions: The confirmation notice we got said pets "must never be left alone inside the home unless they are crated." So we made a dinner reservation and brought our crate. When we arrived there was a sign that said pets could never be left alone in the house so we had to cancel dinner. Should have been warned. Second, there are no instructions for anything, including TV, heating, hot tub. We could not replace lock box because there is a specific order in which you need to do things but no instructions. Arrived rep came quickly, which was great.

Best appointed kitchen I have ever rented.
I have been traveling and staying in rental homes for a couple decades, and I have to say if it's not the best, it is very close to the top appointed kitchen. I've had the pleasure of staying at very nicely displayed spices, all the drawers are clearly labeled with their contents so you don't have to go digging. A very nice ground coffee was left for us to use and it was just all around. Lovely in that sense. But there are some real problems with the infrastructure of the home, one being the door hardware on every door in the home. I got locked into the bathroom for 20 minutes until I got rescued from the outside. The bedroom that I stayed in the very comfortable sleeping wise, the door didn't close and I had to put luggage or items out of the closet to even keep it a little closed. The front door took us 10 minutes to get in backwards and forwards and push and pull didn't get that. Could you try again then I think the owner of the house needs to fire whatever electrician they had hired we blew circuits no less than a dozen times. The AC unit in the. back dark room doesn't work at all and when it triggers, I think that is what was blowing a circuit. I think there's plenty of electricity to be had but it's not. but it seems they are all on one circuit at times especially the front of the house we didn't get in the hot tub but the owners are wonderful in the way that they have laid out baskets of towels and amenities in the bathrooms. I wish we could give it five stars but when I got stuck in the bathroom, I got a little scared. Thank you for letting us stay in your home first trip to Oregon and our first stop was lovely.

Nice cabin but…
Your Comments Beautiful cabin with plenty of room and great location to Hood River, Parkdale and Mt. Hood. Would consider staying here again but there are a several details that are missing. Generally there is a lack of information on if/how the wood stove is used, how the cable TV is used, how to sharpen the super dull knives, and how/if the electric heaters are to be used. Also, it definitely had an “out of season” feel to it. The deck was not yet usable, no places to sit on the deck, and there is no yard. This place could be a four or even five star rating if details were addressed.

Wonderful location, clean and comfortable
We loved this house, comfy, cozy, clean, well stocked with everything needed for an enjoyable home base while exploring the area. Close to downtown but felt really quiet and secluded in the trees on a large lot. The hot tub was a wonderful treat at the end of each day. Comfy beds, lots of towels. Only thing that I would change about this house is the front and back doors automatically lock when closed so always put the key back in the lock box on the front porch or you could accidentally get locked out. The door shut behind us while we were in the hot tub and we had to walk around to the front door to get back in the house. But we will definitely stay here again 😊
