"Hidden Secret" High Country romance & respite, on 4 acres
A secluded get away providing an opportunity to rejuvenate or maybe to rekindle a romance in a luxury studio.... This location on four private acres, however, is central to restaurants, shopping, hiking and fun in the High Country. This property is nature at its best. Your patio gives a view - and sound - of the Creek below and the beauty of the mountains above, providing sunshine as well as a forested area which provides cool shade in the Summer. Spring brings many songbirds and a full moving loud stream; Summer brings berries, mountain laurel and native Rhododendron, while late Summer yields butterflies on an expansive area on the Creek. Hiking opportunities along the Blue Ridge Parkway and NC Mountains to Sea Trail are a quick drive over our hill, and the New River can be accessed about a mile away. Many options are available for restaurants about 20 minutes away in Boone as well as in the charming town of West Jefferson. In the winter, you will find skiing options begin about 45 minutes away in Blowing Rock with Beech or Sugar Mountains further out. Autumn in the High Country may provides trees turning red, orange and yellow and crisp evenings as the sun sets. Relax on the patio at the end of the day enjoying a glass of wine , cider, or coffee - no matter the Season, .... at "Hidden Secret!"

It seemed that the owner was doing construction upstairs and they worked until midnight both nights and started early so it was very noisy, there was tape over the door knob telling us not to remove and you would not have been able to lock the door
We had a lovely couples getaway. This place is the perfect hideaway and we loved using the fireplace. The little creek is a short walk from the house and we got the blessing of seeing a few inches of snow while we were here. It was beautiful. I would love to stay again in the future!
We had a fabulous stay at the Hidden Secret. It was close enough to everything we wanted to do. Enjoyed the outdoor area and the coziness of the suite. We look forward to coming back again soon.
Peaceful Getaway Retreat to Celebrate our Anniversary
This property is in the basement of the host's home. They have fixed up a very nice little apartment and made wonderful use of space. Everything we needed was included. They left information about the area which we found helpful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch looking at the view, listening to the stream and listening to those windchimes. The windchimes may be the most beautiful I have ever heard. We enjoyed our stay and would book again if wanting to come to this area.
We spent the weekend at your wonderful rental once again and had a wonderful time. Everything was clean and comfortable. I absolutely love the wind chimes. We sat on the bench outside as the sun was setting Friday Night and listened to the creek and the wind chimes. So relaxing.
We had a wonderful stay at Hidden Secret. Everything was as described and the studio was super clean. It’s perfect for a couple :) The hosts were very welcoming and responded quickly to any questions we had. The nature is absolutely beautiful and the sound of water is so soothing and relaxing. We enjoyed having breakfast on the patio despite it being cold :)
If you want to stay in the mountains with BEAUTIFUL view, this is it!!!! I stayed here alone to explore the beauty of the mountains in NC. Rich and Pat are the hostesses with the mostesess! They were so helpful and knowledgable giving me suggestions on where to go eat, shop, and hike. I am a people person who loves relationships, so I loved feeling like I was family when I stayed here. Did I mention the beautiful property? Many of my friends asked me to share this property after they saw my social media posts.
Very cozy and quiet with a beautiful view. The cat visitor was a nice touch and super cute. We had a great stay and Jefferson state park is right down the road with an amazing Mountain View. Would definitely stay again for a weekend getaway.
Wonderful spot for a quiet get away. This VRBO was convenient to several local towns and restaurants for shopping, food, and entertainment. The accommodations were fabulous and the owners were wonderful hosts. The natural areas of the property were beautiful and the views were great.
The house was difficult to find especially since the day turned to night and the area is heavily treed.
The apt. Was exactly liked the picture in VRBO. Cozy, comfortable. The outside is beautiful! Garden. Sloping terrain. Changing leaves. Peaceful.
We chose this listing for my brothers visit. Our home is about 10 minutes away. We needed a place for overflow guests visiting here for the 41st Annual New River Canoe Race. This property was perfect. My brother was comfortable and we would choose this property again, especially with its proximity to both West Jefferson and Boone.
We really enjoyed our time there. Rich and Pat were great hosts. Thanks so much for the croissants. We look forward to the next time we go to mountains. Great location. Short drive to anything in the area. Again, thanks so much for your hospitality.
Mike and Teresa Hawkins.
This place was so well done, everything we needed. The fireplace was such a treat, and very easy to use. I was very impressed with how the owner did this apartment, deer on the property, rushing creek sounds below. Really enjoyed my stay!
