Kayak weekend
Pleasant cabin very sound proof. Don’t hear the road from inside cabin. Have to walk through woods to get to river but great spot to watch birds. Nice fire pit. Nice east kayak trip along the Ausable.

Quaint & Quiet
Quiet little place to stay that is dog friendly. Sometimes we run into problems with our Great Dane being too big for pet friendly VRBOs. That was not the case as Findlay’s. They even had a little doggie poop bag station for us. It’s quiet and close to other places we were able to take our dogs. Highly suggest the trails in Hartwick Pines, (15 minutes away), the beach at Mission Point and all the pup friendly breweries in Traverse City (about an hour away from Findlays.) Everything at the cabin was clean and as described. Great little cabin for a weekend get away up north. Host were on site and helpful with any questions we had. They even let us check in early with no problems.

Spotless, impeccable views, well-maintained grounds
We were welcomed with a loaf of freshly made bread, what a nice touch. We stayed in Cabin D. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was nice and clean, had lots of kitchen equipment, and several lovely places to enjoy a meal or coffee on the property by the water. My daughter and I walked around and spotted wildlife and edible plants while my husband waded in the river. We stayed in the spring so it was cold at night and hot during the day, the AC and heat both worked really well. We walked over to the food truck in the parking lot of the outfitters next door for dinner, but there's also a diner, ice cream, and great thrift store on the strip near the cabin.

Cozy and clean
We were headed to the Grayling area vacation with friends that were staying nearby in the Hartwick Pines Rustic Cabin. We needed a place that was pet friendly and offered electricity for our young children(9yrs, 6yrs and 1yr). This place was exactly what we needed. It was cozy, cute and SUPER clean! I don’t know that I’ve ever stayed in a rental or room so clean! It had everything we needed. We didn’t we didn’t hang out on the property much because we spent most of our time with friends in nearby Hartwick Pines(8 min away) but we did explore and found the grounds to be beautiful. My oldest son even found a Petoskey Stone in river! I met Brenda at check-in and she was so nice! Great communication before we arrived too. I’d absolutely stay here again with my family if we’re headed back to the area and would recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodations in the area.

10/10 recommend
I booked the cabin for a little weekend getaway for my dog and I. It exceeded all of my expectations. The cabin was cozy and the property it was on was truly breathtaking. The cabin is perfect for a couple or someone and their dog. Not much privacy for more than that. The fresh baked banana bread provided by Brenda was delicious and a really nice touch! Location was awesome so close to everything you’d need! Hartwick state park is extremely close and well worth the fee. There are two breweries 2 mins away! Paddle hard brewing and rolling oak brewing company. 10/10 recommend both! All in all we definitely will be coming back again.

Cabin-Cottage Experience!
Lovely piece of property! The cabins very much had a cottage short of feel and we truly enjoyed our experience. The owners had alot of amenities included and really put thought into what their guests might need during the stay. We also had our 2 littles (1-2yrs) with us and cabin #D was set up safely for them as well. The main highway into town runs right past the cottages, but that was no bother to us — we liked the convince of it being right there, as it made for quick trips for everything around! Lastly, we thought the gifted home-baked banana bread from Brenda was a really sweet touch. Thank you both for the wonderful stay!

Friendly, clean, and affordable
Finley’s cottages gives you the real up north experience. Brenda was very friendly and available for any questions we had. Cottages are conveniently located near canoe/kayak rentals, bike paths, and the State park. They contained all the essentials for cooking/barbecuing on site. But be sure to have a meal at the Grayling restaurant and visit the Goodale Bakery!! Both are a must!
