Just five miles west of Pittsfield you will find the Hancock Shaker Village featuring a 200-year-old Shaker site complete with buildings, artifacts, crafts, gardens and farm animals. In Stockbridge, visit the home of the first missionary to the Native Americans, Reverend Sergeant, circa 1739. The Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge features the largest Rockwell collection in the world.
Performing arts: Tanglewood is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Other performing arts festivals during the season are the Berkshire Performing Arts Center in Lenox, The Berkshire Performing Theater Festival and Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, the hub and Mecca of dancing in North America, according to Time Magazine.

The resort features a vertical drop of 750 feet, a lift-top elevation of 1,818 feet, twenty-four trails, five lifts, one terrain park, and 75% snowmaking capacity. 20 Min Drive to Ski Butternut, also known as Butternut Basin, is a ski resort in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, located on Warner Mountain in The Berkshires. Channing and Jane Murdock took control of the area in 1963, naming the area Butternut Basin after the large groves of butternut trees located in the basin of the mountain.
