About this property

Escape to the Blue Ridge mountains and discover our GETAWAY. This mountain cabin is on over 2 thickly forested acres surrounded by the Cohutta Wilderness area and the Chattahoochee National Forest. You will experience seasonal mountain views, expansive decks, an outdoor covered hot tub, pool table, ping pong table, air hockey, PlayStation and much much more.

After a day of exploring all that the Blue ridge area has to offer including hiking, rafting, fly fishing, biking to name a few, you’ll find it hard to resist a rocking chair on one of the decks overlooking the wooded mountainside, breathing in the refreshing mountain air and listening to the sounds of the woods. Once your day is complete you can cook dinner on the Weber charcoal grill, propane gas grill or in the full kitchen. Retire to the living room for an evening of movies Netflix, Prime and DVD's) and PlayStation 3 games or to the expansive game loft for a competitive game of pool or air hockey! In the winter warm up , in front of the gas fireplace or relax in the hot tub.

A beautiful short drive from the cabin is Mercier Orchards and downtown Blue Ridge which features many dining choices, galleries and quaint shops, Lake Blue Ridge for boating, tubing and fishing and the Aska Adventure area is a also short drive as well as the Ocoee Whitewater Center, which was home to the 1996 Olympic Games! There are many wineries in the area that are easy to get to, educational, have away winning wine and are great fun! Whether you're coming to the mountains with a family, group of friends or a romantic Getaway this spacious cabin will not disappoint!

Perfect getaway!

We loved the location of The Getaway, but the screened in porch was by far my most favorite perk of the property. We enjoyed starting our day out on the porch and that’s how we would end our day. Loved listening to the birds and seeing all the wildlife. All-in-all The Getaway met our expectations and more and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Just what the doctor ordered!

Having lost my sister, mom, and dad in less than two years' time, I was in desperate need of tranquility, so we booked this cabin for the week following my dad's memorial, and it delivered! The drive here was easy, so close to town. We stocked up on groceries and hunkered down. The first night we spent in the ground-floor master bedroom, but that bed didn’t agree with our backs so we moved to the bedroom upstairs, closer to the pool table 😉. The cabin is spacious and comfortable, the plumbing works great, and the kitchen has everything we needed and then some. Add Netflix and a great sound system, who could ask for more? That said, we spent a lot of time on the shaded, breezy, screened porch, listening to the birds. Hated to leave, and we want to return! Thank you!!!

Spectacular!!

My husband and I came up for a quick trip. We were invited to a friend’s wedding. The house was beyond clean and we loved every part of it. We were only a 10 min drive from the wedding venue and downtown. We truly enjoyed our time in your cabin.

Anniversary trip

The cabin is very beautiful and in a quiet area. We were celebrating our 47th anniversary. The owners were so thoughtful and had a card and nice bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. We appreciated it so much. My mother had passed away the week before so it nice to have some quiet time to start the healing process. We worked two 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles while we were there. Something we love to do but usually are too busy at home to manage to fit in. I would most definitely stay there again.

Awesome President’s Day Weekend!

Our long weekend trip to The Getaway was perfect! Played lots of pool, enjoyed the hot tub and indoor/outdoor Bluetooth stereo sound system, and the new shower in the master bedroom was a great addition! Very peaceful! Watching deer pass by in the mornings was a plus also! This was our second trip to The Getaway and can’t wait to return!

We had an amazing time watching tv with the fire going, sitting on the deck watching animals, in the hot tub, playing pool even just playing cards. The house was amazing and in a very relaxing location! Couldn't have went anywhere better!

Our home away from home!

I believe this was our fifth time of staying at the cabin. We love the peace of it and look forward to going every single year. We’ve already booked again for this upcoming year. The owners are extremely communicative and very helpful with anything you might possibly need. I highly recommend this cabin if you’re looking for a sweet little place as a home away from home.

Spacious in quiet location

We arrived at this location for the first time after dark. This involved several gravel roads, tight spaces, and sharp turns. If you arrive after dark, be prepared to take your time. The house itself was well furnished and very clean. It's not the quietest cabin around though- the floor creaks; if its breezy you'll hear the windchimes at all hours. Same with random pops and squeaks from the building itself. If you're a light sleeper, bring white noise. The master bedroom bed was too soft for us. We ended up using the firmer mattress upstairs. Despite the length of comments here, we really enjoyed this location. I think it needs some TLC, but it was still a great experience

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful and the host has I think everything there that you would need. Blue Ridge is such a cool little town. We’ll definitely look to come back and use this host’s property again when we do.

Quiet, peaceful. Second bedroom upstairs. Navigating steps in old age is little more challenging. Otherwise pleasant stay. Thanks for the use of your home, while we visited family.

Beautiful!!!

Beautiful cabin in the woods. This cabin was very cozy and welcoming. The fireplace was perfect for the cold nights. My son really enjoyed playing pool and having the entire upstairs to himself. The cabin was exactly as described. I would highly recommend this place to anyine who plans on visiting the area.

We live in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. My wife is a cardiac nurse and I work for a large hospice organization in South Florida. We hope to retire to Blue Ridge in a few years and reverse our order of visits. Visit Florida and live in Blue Ridge!!

Why they chose this property

We first discovered Blue Ridge in 2000 when our son was 6 years old. We starting visiting there and renting cabins and decided we should own a cabin and have everything the way we like things. A lot of thought has gone into the customer experience as we were once the customer. We hope you find that we have thought of those little things that you too find important.

What makes this property unique

We have provided all those things to do after your days of exploring Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas. After your day rafting, hiking, fishing, shopping, wine tours or whatever your day entails, the cabin has it all after. Hot tub, expansive porches, books, music system, DVD's, Netflix, pool table, ping pong, air hockey, corn hole, board games or whatever you like to do...it's there for your enjoyment!
