Sitting on a bluff on the vast North Newport River, this direct waterfront cabin offers spectacular river views, not to mention colorful sunsets. The cool rustic décor, rare woodwork in all rooms and wooden beams in the vaulted living space make this cabin a very special and memorable waterfront rental. Feel like you are back in time away from all the hustle and bustle. Relax with a cocktail on the deck or dock. Bring your boat and dock at the private COVERED deep water dock. Explore the barrier islands by boat or charter a trip with a local captain. Bring your poles and fish directly off the private dock. Or if you would like to go the beach by car, head north 50 min to Tybee Island or south 50 minutes to Jekyll Island or St Simons Island. Explore the historic sites in nearby Savannah GA and then come back to this cabin and grill out with the family in a peaceful setting. The very nicely appointed cabin with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths comfortably sleeps 6 guests. Its rustic but very nice with all the new modern touches including brand new appliances, cool coastal décor and quality home goods/linens. You won't be disappointed with the MOONSHINE CABIN! What a view!

The Moonshine Cabin was great. The location of the property was beautiful. We enjoyed the panoramic view of the North Newport River from the cabin. The sunsets were epic. We had a lot of fun “car hiking” in the afternoons exploring this area. The beds were very,very,very comfortable. I believe they were brand new. Wonderful memory foam that felt like you were sleeping on a cloud! Kitchen outfitted with top of the line appliances and items to prepare any type of meal. There is a dual coffee/ Keurig maker. The communication with Dana, the property owner was quick. We are pesty seniors that can’t figure out these fancy TV’S. The next door neighbor has a dog…River, a huge, adorable and “stick crazy” yellow lab. Come and stay here just to meet him. I will never forget him and will never look at a stick again without thinking of him. Thanks y’all for a wonderful Christmas stay(they even had the cabin decorated and a tree!) can’t wait to return to Colonels Island.

Moonshine Cabin - a great break from the rat race

We had a lovely few days at the Moonshine Cabin. The cabin was dated but well equipped with everything you could possibly need, all of which was good quality. The place was spotless. The location was fabulous and just what we needed - quiet and peaceful. We could never tire of the view from the deck that overlooked the river. The only sound was the birds and an occasional passing boat. We can't wait to go back.

Islands Getaway

We had a very enjoyable stay. The cabin was so spacious. The back porch was a pleasant surprise. The views were amazing and beautiful sunsets. And dolphin sightings were a plus.

Perfectly peaceful

Moonshine cabin met all our requirements: close enough to Savannah and Jekyll Island for day trips; far enough from neighbors so our dogs had room to play; something for the tween and teen to do while parents relaxed. Even checking all the boxes, this cabin exceeded our expectations. Very clean, comfortable beds. Huge back deck complete with more than enough seating options—and even an outdoor TV!

Good vacation rental

Pros: dock was awesome, beautiful view, clean house, plenty of parking, right by a marina, price Cons: fishing off the dock is difficult due to how deep the water is, how much the tides change and being on an oyster bed. We couldn't crab off the dock because it was too deep and we mostly only caught toadfish which was disappointing. All in all it was a solid house. If you bring a boat, it would be amazing! But for what we wanted fishing wise, it could've been better.

Could Have Bern Better

Pros: Close to dock, dock is covered and has fans, running water cleaning station, pretty outdoor lights on dock and house deck, ice maker in freezer works well. Cons: ice and water have a sulfur taste (bring bottled water), rugs are tripping hazard (especially in hall), dishwasher is not secured, no step-stool to reach cabinet shelves (I am 4’10), sheets on master bed slip, pots and pans handles heat quickly, dishes are no microwave friendly for they get hot quick, communication with manger was not as prompt as other places we have stayed, ceiling fans and lights not clearly marked. Not a bad place but just could have been better. Please remember to bring skin-so-soft for the no-see-ums.

FANTASTIC!!

God, thank you! I felt so relaxed at this lovely, fantastic, beautiful, tremendous home! And I really enjoyed sitting on the dock "of the bay". We caught a few fish which we ate, and we saw one dolphin way out and a few jelly fish. The deck was tremendous and enjoyable; the breeze from the water was great! Never really hot! Plus they have ceiling fans on the dock. Man, I'm hoping to return here maybe next year or later. Worth the trip! Thank you, Dana! Tanya

So peaceful and relaxing

Very nice cabin but the back porch and covered dock overlooking the river steals the show!!! Dolphins pass by nearly every morning and evening. Owners are very attentive. Would love to come back in the fall.

Great week at Moonshine Cabin

My family had a great week at this cabin. Setting was ideal. We brought our own boat and really enjoyed going out to St. Catherine’s to drop anchor and spend the day. My boys fished from the dock every day. Caught many crabs by dropping a trap on the other side of the river. Dana was very helpful and quick to reply. Would definitely stay here again!

Memorial Day weekend

My wife, son, and I enjoyed our stay at the Moonshine cabin. Weather was not the best but the cabin was cozy and we just relaxed and used the dock to fish when we could. We will definitely return.

Wonderful Escape

Our stay was great from beginning to end. We were there to explore the area with our boat, and this was a perfect place to start. The half moon marina is very close and they were friendly and helpful. The moonshine cabin was clean and in a beautiful setting. We will be back.

Great place

This was our second stay at Moonshine. The house was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The covered dock is a plus for sitting enjoying the view, reading a book, and enjoying life. What you see in the photos is what you get - no surprises. Highly recommend Moonshine Cabin.

Fishing trip

I found the house to be better than expected. The dock for my boat was great and the view from the back deck was incredible. The house was very clean and the property manager was very responsive and friendly.

Wonderful back porch!

We really enjoyed our stay....especially the back porch. The only problem we had was the boat motor tore up so we only got to fish one day so we spent a lot of time on back porch. Very nice location. We look forward to going back at a later date.
