This was our second year staying at Splendor on the Lake and yet again we loved it. While there are a few things around the house that could use updating (some lighting and patio furniture) the house is extremely comfortable, peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. Can’t beat the location and the private beach area and docks are outstanding. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful lake week at the property. The house is just as described and was very comfortable for me, my husband and our friends. The house is located on a beautiful point with lake access on a quiet cove and close to marinas, swim spots and great fishing. We loved our stay and would happily return next year!
We had a group of 6 from all over the country - we enjoyed the property very much - right on lake. It was very clean with a very well stocked kitchen. There were plenty of water toys and very close to boat rental places. The view was great. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck
One of the best locations on lake Norman! The house is older, but has been adequately updated. The cove is very protected, yet you are only seconds from the main lake. 2 restaurants on the lake are only 5 minutes away, as is a Marina for fuel and a boat ramp.

We just completed a family reunion, and this property was perfect. The check-in and check-out process was easy, the house was immaculate and there were so many little things provided to make us feel right at home. The steps to the lake and the sandy entrance to the water were ideal. We had a great time using the kayaks, paddle boards and boat docks. My nephews caught the biggest fish we have ever seen right from the dock. Simply a fantastic house, location and host!

We had three families and loved this home. Wonderful deck made all of our dining experiences great. Only issue we had was splinters from the dock. This is to be expected with aging wood though! Great view from a clean home!
The property was in a very convenient location. The back porch was wonderful overlooking the water! Had plenty of room for all guests. The kayaks were a hugh hit with everyone and we had some really good luck fishing with rangeling in some pretty big fish right from the dock. The steps down to the water was perfect for the dogs to get into the water. Overall, a really nice place to stay. If I was to mention anything bad, I would say that the walk way down to the docks could be a little steep for some people, but was not an issue for our family. Would definitely rent again!

Deceptive description
The host knew that we were a group of six 80 year old women looking for a five bedroom house. Two of the bedrooms have to be accessed by going outside and down steep stairs, like a separate apartment…no inside stairs leading downstairs. This meant having to go outside in the rain to get to the basement bedrooms. Nothing in the description specifically says that. The floors are uneven, there are not adequate pots and pans in the kitchen, lower cabinet door missing, the seals in the large upper windows in the great room are broken and you can’t see through them. Many of the mattresses are very uncomfortable. I could keep going. We paid a premium for this property and it is the farthest thing from premium that we’ve ever rented. On the positive side, the view is wonderful and the outside is beautifully kept.

Listing misrepresents actual house
This stay started with the greeting of a white front storm door that was dirty with a bunch of chipped paint. The primary bedroom has a king size bed with a queen size bed stuck in the corner. The listing and pictures leads you to believe the queen is in a separate room. The shower in the primary bath does not work and it was only after our stay concluded that I received the complete “special instructions” for working the primary shower. As part of the initial information received for your stay, you only receive part of the instructions, not enough to actually operate the shower. It’s a shower. Why make it complicated? The tub in the primary has a lot of hard water calcium stains as does the sink faucet on the main level bathroom. The shower on the main level is cruise ship sized. It is barely big enough for an adult to move around. The windows are dirty and foggy. Floors are uneven. The host provides unhelpful AI responses that are repetitively the same rather than actually engaging with you to answer your questions. The stairs to the primary in the loft are very steep, narrow, and dangerous. If you come in at night the lighting for these stairs is non-existent and extremely dangerous to navigate. You literally cannot see where you are walking up these steep and narrow stairs. This house is very overpriced, poorly maintained, with little thought given to how to be a quality host. I cannot recommend anyone to stay here, especially for the price.

Great View!
Nice home, but, the kitchen wasn’t equipped well. Missing a toaster and steak knives which the realtor dropped off. No frying pan big enough to feed 10 people. No can opener, no vegetable peeler. The bathtub did not work and only one person can shower at a time. You can not access the two bedrooms downstairs from inside. It’s a separate unit. The pictures online made the rooms appear larger than they were. It appears they used pano. The square footage is probably for up and down. The basement was invaded by centipedes probably from the storm that uprooted trees on the property. An exterminator was sent out but it did not remedy the problem right away. Wear shoes on the deck or you will get splinters. The decks and rails are loose and in my opinion, a liability. The rails upstairs in the house outside the master bedroom are too far apart. A child can fit through them. This is also a liability. Blinds or curtains are needed in the living room to keep it cooler when the afternoon sun shines in. It gets hot. We paid for cleaning and there were cobwebs and items left under and behind furniture. I absolutely loved having body wash, shampoo/conditioner, hand soap and air freshener in every bathroom. We also had a tub on the kitchen counter filled with goodies and chocolates in the bedrooms! Plenty of towels and sheets on the beds. And again, the view. This home needs just a little attention and it would be perfect. The realtor was wonderful, attentive and a pleasure to work with!
2 boat slips and lake area was wonderful. 2 kayaks and paddle boards for us to use as well as a bunch of floaties. Small beach was perfect to just float in the water after boating. Wrap around deck was awesome with the great views of the lake.
The vacation property is well located for swimming, kayaking, boating and any other water activities. it is somewhat secluded yet near restaurants and stores.
Muong was very responsive to any of our concerns and/or problems.
Really enjoyed the property. The property manager was very responsive and accommodating.
Excellent location and layout, would definitely stay at this property again.
Very nice private location we had my wife’s birthday there had a great time house was well equipped. The only thing was we did not know it was a 3 bedroom house upstairs and a 2 bedroom apartment in the basement and the 2 don’t connect unless you go outside and walk around to the basement. Enjoyed our stay and plan to do it again this fall.
House is overprice by a lot!!! wasn’t clean at all, found spiders, bugs. Pictures in Vrbo site make the house look bigger but in reality is small. House is Dated and broken, table games were not complete, small pool table missing balls!!! Hot water heater only works from 3 to 5 minutes. Property manager seems to be nice at the beginning but turn into something else when we started to talked about all the problems. In general a very bad experience I would never repeat again!!! We notice the house is on sale probably that’s why they don’t fix anything and they are trying to get as much money as they can. I know I’m missing a lot of bad things in this short review, but the summary is guys don’t rent it is not worth it!!!
We were looking for a lakeside property to host two families who were driving in from Cary, NC and Atlanta, GA over Columbus Day weekend. The clean and very well equipped house is located on a secluded point so you have an impressive 300 degree view of the water. We enjoyed fishing from the dock area and from the kayaks that come with the rental. The property contact was very responsive and excellent to work with. There are lots of shops near the property if you need supplies. The house is split into two separate units if you are seeking privacy from the main group. We had a wonderful time and would definitely consider a return trip to this location and property.
The house is well located, offering a great view and privacy. Stores are just a short drive away, as is a state park with hiking trails. We enjoyed walking there, as well as in the neighborhood, and kayaking on and swimming in the lake. The set up is two separate apartments, which worked well for our group. While the decor is a little dated, the house is comfortable, clean, and bright, and we felt quite at home. The kitchen is easy to use and included more spices than I have never seen in a rental, which made cooking a treat. Muong is a professional owner, who has her guests' interests in mind. She is committed to continuous improvements, was very accessible, offered tips to make our stay go well, and even went out of her way to purchase items that I had asked about prior to our coming to make our stay better. We had a great time and hope to have the chance to go back.
Guardrail flimsy, a little scary. Not enough to ruin our stay.
Tremendous potential.
