Owner was very nice and helpful. The only downside is the hill down to the lake if you have walking issues. Might ask To rent owners atv to get to the lake
The cabin was beautiful and clean, and had everything we needed; from fresh towels and linens, to pots and pans and condiments. The private beach was a short walk down a hill and the water was shallow enough for kids to be safe, but deep enough to use kayaks and swim as well. The hosts (Marty and Annie) were the best part! They were kind and helpful, and were in their house right on the property if we needed anything. There is a cute, secluded fire pit area with Adirondack chairs a few steps away from the cabin's front deck equipped with outdoor dining set and a grill that we used several times. There are many hiking trails in the surrounding area and several places to pick from nearby to grab a bite to eat. No complaints, and we will most definitely be returning!

If you are elderly these cottages are not for you.
Location was on a moderately sized lot with owner’s large home, two rental units. Our cottage was large and could easily a family of four, numerous pots and pans, a gas fire stove, and all the modern electric appliances. Their toaster oven did not work well. The portable AC unit handled removing the dampness and cooled living area but not bedrooms. The owner was accommodating and friendly. Life jackets at the beach were available. The kitchen had many nice dishes and other utensils. The food items left in the cupboards were very old and unusable. The gift store in Northville some 20 miles away was very nice with many original wood carvings and gifts. The area was very quiet and peaceful. The small patio area had a dirty gas grill. Area was damp and no views except. The owner’s chickens to roamed freely with feces everywhere. Tractors, graders and old run down stuff was unsightly. The beds were uncomfortable giving back aches all week. The owner’s dogs were allowed to roam freely. The bath was ok but the high step to reach the shower was not safe for seniors. Bath towels were provided unless asked for. The walk to beach area was at least 200 yards down an exceptional very steep and rough slope. Not an easy walk. The muddy beach area was unkempt with animal feces and several dead rodents. The water craft were in very poor shape. The water had a funny smell. Conclusion: If you have a boat and can use the lake, than you might have some fun. Do not recommend this property at the price we paid.
Marty and Annie were very gracious hosts the whole time of our stay . The cabin was ready and waiting , cleaned with all the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the peaceful lake ,kayaking and fishing . I highly recommend this location for various activities nearby to Saratoga. We loved our stay thanks to Marty and Annie ! 😍
We enjoyed our stay at Marty and Annie’s cabin. The cabin was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was a quick walk to the beach, and we enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boats, and paddle boards. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. Our family enjoyed fishing, boating and kayaking. The location was great. The hosts were super friendly. I would highly recommend and we would definitely return.
The cabin was lovely! Comfort, quality and cleanliness were all there! The hosts were very friendly and offered assistance if needed. The bon fire was a perfect ending to day trips of hiking and local outdoor establishments. My husband enjoyed the use of the boat for fishing on the lake. Could not have asked for a better way to enjoy the beauty of autumn!
We had a wonderful time at Marty and Annie’s cottage by the lake. Their property sits on a smaller lake which feeds into the Great Sacandaga. And so, it’s much more quiet and peaceful than if you were on the bigger lake. They provide everything you need to enjoy the water- kayaks, rowboats, paddleboards, fishing rods, life jackets, and more. There is a steep hill to get down to the lake, which didn’t bother us but not might not be suitable for all. The cottage itself is very nice— it has rustic charm but modern amenities. I especially loved all the storage space— we could really unpack and make ourselves feel at home. We had a couple of rainy days, and we were totally happy staying in the cottage. There are many great hikes within 30-60 minutes of their place. We loved exploring the area. Our soon to be six year old had a great time swimming in the lake, playing with Marty a and Annie’s dogs, and making s’mores in the firepit. After a stressful spring due to Covid-19, this was the escape we needed!
Beautiful secluded location that is still close to all amenities. Hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate our every need. Couldn't have asked for a better vacation.
The stay here with my 6-year-old niece and mom couldn't have been any better. Upon arrival, there was a tag with our last name on the front of the cabin, a nice personal touch, and the inside was clean and cool for the summer heat. There was plenty to keep my energetic niece occupied - kayaks, paddleboard, paddleboards, fishing roads, life jackets, a fire pit, a trampoline, nearby hikes, chickens to feed, and the friendly family dogs to pet and greet. For relaxation, there was plenty of space to spread out and find peace and quiet - Netflix on the television in the evenings, a grill and patio set to enjoy BBQ, and everything we needed inside to get it done. On our drive back home, my niece kept saying she can not wait to come back next year.
Thank you, Mario and your family,
Jose
Our little family really enjoyed our stay with Marty and Annie.
They are great hosts, helpful and very responsive if anything is needed.
The location is great, undisturbed and just down to the lake. Great for smaller kids as it is quite sallow in the beginning, our two year old loved it.
Great hikes near by for both kids and adults (we used found them in some books in the cottage which also was really helpful).
Highly recommended.
2019 was our second year staying at this property with our 2 and 3 year old daughters. The property owners are one of the best people my husband and I have met in our lifetime. If you want privacy, you got it. If you want family hangout with the property owners, you got it! We developed and cherish a great relationship with the property owners that we plan to make a yearly visit.
The town itself has wonderful residents in every restaurant we dined. Such a wonderful community that I would consider moving to Mayfield at retirement.
A special note to Marty and Annie: thank you for inviting us to your Labor Day party. You are a generous family and can’t wait to see you next year. You are special folk and glad we met you!
Until next time,
The Elmore’s

Great cottage on beautiful lake with beach access
This cottage is fairly new and has everything you need. It has its own beautiful beach that’s shared with the other cottage so almost private. It’s in a beautiful, calm part of the lake. There are pedal boats, kayaks, sand toys, life jackets, etc. that our kids loved. The kitchen has pots, pans, plates, coffeemaker- everything you need. There’s also a nice little patio, a grill, and a fire pit. The owners live on the property and are very nice and helpful. They even gave us eggs from their chickens. They do have dogs running around but they’re friendly. Our kids were a little nervous at first but by the end had a great time playing fetch with one of them. Overall great stay!

About the host
Hosted by Marty Greco
Marty and Annie Greco and their daughter Marykate own and maintain Sunny Hill. We greatly enjoy our property and we love being able to share this great location with our guests. Marty and Annie were in the food/ hospitality business for over 20 years and have traveled and they know how to make our guests feel at home
Why they chose this property
We were born and raised here and every summer the locals were blessed with people from all over coming to the Adirondacks to spend the summers. I always enjoyed these people and now we have the pleasure of offering our cottage for our guests.
