We had a great week in this house.
We enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient. The size of the house was perfect for our party of five (it can sleep 6). The kitchen had everything we needed and the price was better than most of the places I've seen. The dryer was not working so we had to use the drying rack to dry our towels. The upstairs was warmer than the downstairs but the fans helped to cool it.

Edgartown Rental
I knew the house was outdated but I didn't expect to see dead bugs in every window, to the extent they couldn't be opened (I refuse to clean windows on my vacation). They have mesh nets inside over the skylights and these also had some bugs and debris. The split AC unit brought no relief to the upstairs rooms and there was no ventilation in the 1 full bathroom. The dryer was broken (owner did let me know this a few days before) and nothing dried so towels were gross and smelly. They had 2 huge drying racks so something tells me it has been broken for a while. Again, going to the laundry mat isn't on my vacation list. The outdoor trash barrels were very small and they only had 1 pickup on Tuesday (check in is Sunday). The prior renters overflowed both barrels and they were covered in maggots- absolutely disgusting. Definitely crossing this one off of my list.

Love this place!
We had a great stay here! It’s very quiet and relaxed. The interior was super comfortable. Loved the woodsy setting. The neighborhood and nearby state park made for a great place to take a walk. The location was perfect for quickly getting to Edgartown, Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. We’d come back here in a heartbeat! Thanks for the hospitality!

Very nice cottage
Nice cottage, in good location, with all needed amenities. Great deck. Minuses - tried to call and e-mail the owner/manager, without any responce. No AC, except the first floor bedroom. I would suggest a wall unit in living room, which would made a big difference.

We loved the private setting in the woods, yet easy drive to Edgartown & Oak Bluffs
We love coming to Martha’s Vineyard & wanted to do some exploring with our adult son at a more affordable price. This private location in the woods was good for us with easy driving distance to restaurants in Edgartown & Oak Bluffs. The house is dated but reasonably welll-equipped. It’s so peaceful here, we loved sitting outside on the deck, dining, reading, talking & listening to the birds. It’s a level bike ride 3+ miles to Rdgartown shopping or to Oak Bluffs. No central air conditioning makes things feel damp on humid July days (there are fans & a window unit). We would consider coming back! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

No Bells and Whistles
The outside property is cute and location is private.. big deck is very nice. The inside furniture in every room could use some updating, but for the low weekly price, you get what you pay for. I’d get rid of the bunk beds. Luckily, there was an AC in the downstairs bedroom, which isn’t listed, normally no AC would be fine on the vineyard, but this summer has been awfully humid. No AC’s upstairs and fans were dusty. Since the guests are responsible for the majority of cleaning, and the cleaning service is considered “light cleaning” it’s hard to tell if the place has been thoroughly and properly cleaned each week. You’re left to trust the guest before you. I would advise that all guests bring their own pillows, and bedding. The owners sent a packet before arriving with key and were pretty thorough. I messaged owner a couple times before our stay through website and they were very kind and responsive. We didn’t need to talk during our visit. This place is beer, not champagne for an MV stay.

Nice home
This was a good property for the price. The owners were great answering our questions. There is no central air so upstairs got warm. Would rent again.

Warning!
You will only find a couple of negative reviews on this home... one old and this current review-READ THE ENTIRE REVIEW! Upon arriving, we were really excited! This cottage is in an awesome location and looks amazingly well-groomed from the outside. The inside was not bad... but not as clean as one would expect for the price. The full bathroom is on the upper level. Once you have paid for the rental, you will receive a VERY ORGANIZED packet in the mail. However, there are many things in it that were not mentioned in the VRBO listing. None of these things are deal-breakers by any means... and we should have asked more questions and read things more completely! Again, none of the things in the packet are deal-breakers. Now for the only true DEAL-BREAKER: roaches! And, trying to contact the owner and work with him to resolve this took an act of congress! Instead of immediately slamming him in a review, we tried to work out a solution first. And once he finally did respond, he denied that the roaches were at the home even though we sent pictures! He did say that they had sprayed for ants a few weeks prior. This made much sense as about a quarter of the roaches were dead... but the rest were alive and kicking! We would all agree that it would be tough to rent your vacation home to anyone, as so many would emotionally complain about everything under the sun. However, you would think it would be a responsibility one would assume once the decision has been made to go into the business! The roaches were real, and they were in the home before we arrived. Once we were home, we shook each item of clothing outside our home... YOU GUESSED IT... roaches! We threw our luggage away! Again, this home would be the perfect get-away... MINUS THE ROACHES!

Place to go
We really enjoyed our stay in this well maintained property! It is located so nicely that you can reach anywhere easily. The State forest with its trails is right at the back door. The downtowns of Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, and Vineyard Heaven with all their cool shopping and dining are just minutes away. Big thank you to the owners for letting us stay there!

Week vacation with the family
This was a cute house with a fairly private location in a lovely community. It was nice to have the extra half bath on the main level. We stayed for a week with our young adult kids. It was near the bike path which was a real plus for us. Great deck and bbq which we used a lot since we didn’t want to go out to too many restaurants. We had a great vacation!

Great times!!!
The perfect getaway!!! We loved the house and it's wifi!!! We had two millennials with us and the wifi was amazing!!! It's hard to get good wifi on the island. Other than that the house was as described, did not know that the outdoor shower was not enclosed but with a little yankee ingenuity we were able to screen it in!!! Thank you for letting us stay in your vacation home.

Lovely week in a lovely home!
We thoroughly enjoyed spending last week at this wonderful home. As soon as you arrive in the Dodger’s Hole neighborhood, you’ll instantly leave all your worldly worries behind. It is woodsy area that has a great neighborhood feel, very clean and well kept. The home is even more spacious and updated than it appears in the photos. It's set back in a small cul-de-sac and feels very private. The open kitchen was awesome for putting together family lunch for the beach and not being stuck inside a cramped space. Afterall – vacation is for family time. The great thing about the location is that the home is nice and shady for most of the day, keeping it cool and comfortable. We easily made very quick trips to South Beach (Katama) and Bend-in-the-Road Beach (State Beach). We took day trips to Aquinnah Public Beach and Menemsha, to check out the fishing village, which are both about 20 minutes away by car. The outdoor shower (which was working just fine when we were there) was excellent for rinsing off the sand, salt and sunscreen. Then relax with a cocktail on the porch, and listen to nature as the sun goes down. Having the Blueray player to access Netflix and watch movies (JAWS!) was very nice for relaxing after a long day at the beach.

Disappointed
We arrived on a 90 degree day to an extremely stuffy house that had no AC or ceiling fans, and no obvious way to open the skylights. Fans were not sufficient and the house was very slow to cool down. The house is in need of a serious cleaning; very dirty floors and furniture. Master bedroom downstairs had baggies with random pills in it - no sheets, as promised in the info packet. If the house is really being cleaned on a weekly basis, the owners should consider finding a new cleaner. Dryer was not working. Outdoor shower was not working. Messages to the owner were not returned. We cut our trip short because the house was not enjoyable.

Great little get away!
We enjoyed staying in this great rental! It was perfect for our 3 kids! Close to everything but away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Only thing we would change would be access to the outdoor shower to rinse off quickly after the beach. It was not working and is not enclosed but would be fine for a quick rinse off when it is functioning again! Overall a great little place for a small family!

Edgartown at its best
I have been renting this wonderful home for many years. When I return, it feels like I am coming back to my own special place. This tidy home has everything you need for a super MV vacation. What is really great is the privacy you feel in the home and on its beautiful deck. The house sits on wedge of land that virtually masks all of the neighbors--you get the feeling of an up-island rental but without the inconvenience of a dry town with no restaurants. Do not hesitate if you are considering this house. Be advised--there is no bathtub, but the shower has a seat. The wi-fi is superb (what a change on the Vineyard from only a few years back), and the HD tv is an unexpected nice surprise.

Nice and Comfortable
This home fit the needs of our family of 4 just fine. There was adequate space and the accommodations were as stated in the description. The setting is incredibly quiet, peaceful, and private, yet close to everything. The only thing not as "advertised" was the availability of laundry on-site. We arrived to find a note from a previous renter stating the dryer was not functioning and the owner was aware and working on the issue. As it turned out, neither the washer nor the dryer was working properly, which meant we had to use the full-service laundromat at the airport mid-week. It was a minor inconvenience and only set us back $40, $25 of which the owner was kind enough to reimburse along with the return of our security deposit. I only wish we had known about the laundry situation ahead of time as I would have packed differently to avoid the whole laundromat scene, but it ended up being such a small thing (and nice to take a break from laundry for a week!). As another reviewer noted, the outside shower is not enclosed, but it works well for rinsing off sand, and my little ones showered out there no problem :). Make this house your home base for days in the sun at South Beach and evenings strolling the quaint streets of Edgardtown!

Just what we were looking for
We had a fantastic time at thiswonderful home. The location was great, perfect for our small family and we had an absolute blast touring the island and spending a lot of time on the beach. Super easy to take back roads to South Beach to avoid the traffic, close to Edgartown Center, beaches, grocery stores and really easy to get to the main roads to get elsewhere on the island. Hope to be back again!

Highly recommend this home!
Lovely property and a well maintained home in a pretty and upscale neighborhood. The home is situated on a very private lot. . The kitchen had everything one could need and close enough to the grocery store. I brought my three children and we were all comfortable. Only drawback was the missing light bulbs in some of the bedrooms. Besides that , we had a great home for our family and I would most definitely rent this home again.

Great vacation!
We had a wonderful week in this lovely home. It is quite comfortable and very conveniently located to the beaches and towns. We enjoyed being able to bike to town for coffee in the am, the house is very close to the main road and bike path. It is quiet, peaceful and has great open space. Just to note: the outside shower is not private and is for rinsing off only! We were a little disappointed by this as it is one thing we look forward to, having an outside in the air shower! Overall this is a great place to spend a week,it is clean and comfortable.
