Beautiful Location, Perfect Muskoka Cottage

We recently stayed at the Bristow's cottage and it was amazing. Plenty of room, separate bunkies for all the guests to sleep. The cottage was clean and tidy, dock bar was amazing! View was amazing. We all had a wonderful time.

About the host

Hosted by News Island Muskoka

Host profile image
We have owned News Island for over 20 years. Since then we have taken on the daunting task of completely restoring the main cottage back to its original beauty, with modern amenities. It took us over 10 years complete the project, and we are excited to share the experience with others. The cottage has given us immense joy with our (3) young children, our extended family, and all our friends. We have spent countless hours around the fire, lots of days on the dock and hours in the boat exploring one of the most beautiful lakes in Ontario.
We have decided to explore other parts of Canada this summer with our kids, and are for the first time ever, making the cottage available for another family to enjoy this summer.

Why they chose this property

News Island is a small piece of paradise. The private island offers incredible lake views from every bed on the island. A show-stopping sunset that sets just outside the dining room down the moon river, and shooting star extravaganza experienced from the dock that you only see in movies.
There is something for everyone here. You can be busy and on the water, or do nothing and read a book on the screened in porch listening to the waves crash on the rocks.
For those who want to unplug, this is the place. But if you need to check in, catch up and other modern requirements, we can accommodate that too.

What makes this property unique

Enjoying life on an island, on one of the nicest freshwater lakes in Ontario is an experience that only some have had. This water access only property delivers a summer experience of a lifetime.
