My wife and I, and our pets, stayed with Sue for the month of January in 2019. We were moving to the area from overseas. The cottage is in a quiet village outside of a town called Hailsham. There is a pub within walking distance, that does serve food. We didn't sample this, as we cooked in the cottage mostly. Larger stores, (Tesco, etc..), can be found in Hailsham. The coast is ~30 mins drive so very accessible from the cottage.
Sue is a very attentive host, ready to answer questions whenever we had them. The cottage is deceptively large, with a nice conservatory which was difficult to fully enjoy in January :-), and I am sure is wonderful in the spring/summer. The kitchen has all of the utensils, pots and pans necessary for a short, or long, stay. There was some stocked food on the shelves and in the refrigerator, which was a nice touch. The cottage is joined to Sue's main house, but is fully separate, with a private entrance.
There is a large back garden which is great for our dogs. Just be careful with the dogs, as there are friendly chickens that like to come into the back yard.
We really enjoyed our stay and were very thankful to Sue for her hospitality and flexibility, we would stay here again in the future.
