About this property

Rare Tiny House: The perfect writer's retreat in Bucks County, PA

Unique opportunity to get away to your own quiet space just 1:30 from Manhattan; 40 minutes from Philadelphia. Our Guest House is a 16' x 16' tiny house ...2 stories high with a charming living area, full bathroom & kitchen --bedroom, closet and office area up the spiral staircase (plus a full size pullout couch in the living room). Fully furnished 'cottage vintage' with a separate driveway, [about 100 feet from the Main House] with great wifi, internet TV, washer/dryer, dishwasher, air-conditioned, inside/outside see-through fireplace, deck, grill and hot tub. The Bissel House (& main house) sits on 3 acres with a creek below (that empties into the Delaware River) and has an unobstructed view (seemingly) all the way to Honolulu.

Perfect Weekend Getaway!

The Bissel House was the perfect weekend getaway. We chose to stay for a long weekend in January. It was an amazing way to get away during a time when travel is very limited. We picked up a delicious meal from Cocina del soul on our first night and used the wonderful kitchen for the rest of our meals. It’s conveniently located to walk around Frenchtown, NJ as well as go on your choice of a hiking trail. In the morning, we looked forward to seeing the birds visit the bird feeder. At night, we relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the fire place. Highly recommend!

My tiny house stay

My husband and I rented this property for a weekend away. And we absolutely enjoyed every part of our stay and rental. The house was lovely, and very clean. It's a small property, but had amenity we needed and even some we did not expect. It felt cozy without feeling claustrophobic as some tiny houses can feel. I absolutely love that all the directions for the house and use of its features was very succinct and I know this is not a big deal to some people but the fact that there was a pamphlet of directions upstairs and downstairs for our convenience was nice. You're not completely alone, there are neighbors but it didn't feel like it. The property was private, quiet, and very well maintained. And it was so cool to see all the deer come out and calmly walk around the property and frolic together, even though we were sitting close by, they did not seem startled. Which made it easy for us to observe and enjoy their presence. There are nice restaurants and activities in the area, and Frenchtown was very cute. We weren't too far from anything if we got bored and wanted to go out, but we mostly stayed in and enjoyed the tranquility. The hot tub is very clean and highly recommended! My husband enjoyed is so much he recommended that we come back and stay for Valentine's day weekend. We'll be back!

Charming Forest Hideaway

We felt as though we’d stepped into a storybook when we arrived at this petite retreat. Tucked away at the end of a tree-lined lane, this cozy gem offered many of the amenities of a larger home, including a spacious deck with wonderfully comfortable zero gravity lounge chairs, well-appointed kitchen and brand new hot tub. Lots of thoughtful and space-saving details, as well, including a coffee table that converted into a dining table for two, foldaway towel bars, creative shelving and storage areas, and a striking spiral staircase. My husband and I enjoyed our morning coffee on the bedroom deck listening to birdsong; at night we fell asleep to a frog chorus. Even though the house is secluded and private, we found plenty to do within a 10-minute drive, including hiking and biking in Tinicum Park, wine tasting at the Sand Castle Winery and dining and shopping in Erwinna and Frenchtown (loved the blueberry pie at Kasey’s on the Delaware and the chimichangas at Cocina del Sol). The owners were extremely responsive to questions and requests and offered plenty of thoughtful recommendations. We highly recommend this tiny house for a peaceful, fun, and memorable getaway!
