Decent place
Nice little cottage. Shared waterfront and dock. Really nice lake - very quiet and good size. Wifi didn't have internet connection. Overall, a fair value.

Lovely Lake
There was a lot to like about this cottage, especially the peaceful location right on a small lake with swimming available right outside the door. The living room / kitchen was just as pictured, with nice windows and views of the lake and sunset. There is a lot of shared public space which lends a nice atmosphere to the cottage. The bedroom and bathroom were small and dark, though. I opted to sleep on the sleeper sofa in the living room instead of staying in the bedroom and I spent as little time in the shower as possible. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, but these two spaces would benefit from a refresh and deep clean.

Awesome Location
The tranquility of the lake in the front yard was awesome. Perfect location to take day trips Fish Town, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Charlevoix and Petoskey. Swam in the crystal clear water everyday, steps away from the cottage. A kayak or paddle board would make this the perfect location, but there aren’t any at the cottage. Other than the lack of a kayak, it was perfect.

Nowland Lake Cottage highly recommended
We very much enjoyed our week at the cottage on Nowland Lake. The place was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The view of the lake made our stay especially pleasant. The environment was so peaceful. The only sounds we heard during our time there were the calls of the lake loons and mourning doves. We highly recommend vacationing at this cottage.

We loved our time at this property, located on a beautiful, quiet lake (except for the loons calling, which we were thrilled to hear every day).

Happy place on Nowland Lake
The owner, Jill, has been genuinely warm & welcoming, happily sharing info & ideas for fun things to do in the area. The cute little lake house is beautifully situated on Nowland Lake, & is a perfect place to watch stunning sunsets. The neighborhood & lake are blissfully quiet. There we enjoyed kayaking & fishing. The cottage itself is clean & well appointed, very comfortable, with lots of windows overlooking the lake. Only a short drive into town where there are lots of restaurant & shopping choices. This has been a perfect choice for us to enjoy a lovely get away & de-stress.

Cozy Cottage on a Peaceful Lake near Charlevoix
My college aged daughter and myself stayed in this adorable little cottage. We wanted to be close to Charlevoix to explore the town, Petoskey, the beaches & nature. We enjoyed kayaking on Nowland Lake, a bonfire, stargazing and watching & listening to the Loons. This cottage is small but makes Great use of the space it has & is perfect for a couple of people or a small group. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area. So Many Great things about it!

Wonderful location and cabin!
We loved the location of this lovely little cabin. The neighborhood is quite walkable and though it was a hot week we have plenty of shade and a great breeze off the lake. The owner, Jill, was excellent with answering my many questions and it was very pleasant to converse with her. We had an issue with the shower head so I sent Jill a note and she had her handyman out quickly to do an expert job on replacing in. Thank you Jill and mr. Handyman. :-) The lake was lovely with all the loons - we heard them all times of the day and evening - though it was a bit slurry like on the bottom. One caution my sister did come out of the lake with a leach attached to her ankle. That said it is only 15 minutes to Lake Michigan so we went there a lot!! Great night sky, too!

Nice getaway
Very nice little cottage on a very quite lake. The water was wonderful and so was the location. The loft space was much smaller than we thought and not really big enough for our two kids (6 and 4). Overall it was a great place to get away to and recharge.

Week of peace
So glad we stumbled upon this charming little spot. The house, lake, swing, and fire pit made it a perfect little getaway from reality. Plus, depending on how you look at it, weaker internet and no television made it truly an escape from reality. We would absolutely stay again.

Perfect Northern Michigan Getaway
Great secluded getaway! Very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was very clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful mix of lake cabin / beachy vibes in its decor. We were not able to get the wifi to work, but that was not really important to us for this vacation. We spent every night watching the spectacular sunsets and loved listening to and seeing Loons on the lake. Thank you for the wonderful stay Jill!

Wish this place was a secret!
This is a lovely cozy cottage on a quaint and private inland lake just minutes from beautiful Charelvoix. This was our second stay and I wish I could keep the place a secret, as it is already booked through the summer and into the fall. The owners are easy to talk to, welcoming, and accommodating. Communication is prompt. We met a few of the residents of the cottage grouping during this visit and they are so welcoming. It was still quiet and relaxing. A few fishing boats out on the water. We brought our own kayak and enjoyed paddling the entire lake. Saw a family of loons while paddling and heard them every day. Charlevoix is perfect in every way. We've had a family cottage in the area for 35 years, so we are a bit prejudiced. It is small enough not to attract big franchise stores and restaurants while big enough to offer unique shopping, many beaches and water sports, and hiking and biking. You can easily travel to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, or Traverse City for bigger venues. The cottage is adequately equipped with kitchenware for cooking meals in, including several spices. The beds are serviceable but the mattresses will need upgrading soon. I slept on the pullout couch last visit but this time I brought an air mattress. There is plenty of floor space for a couple of them if need be. The mattress in the tiny loft area seemed very comfortable. We only checked it out but didn't sleep there. The headroom clearance in the loft is quite limited. You'd only put one person there (and best probably an older child or teen). We did not use the window air conditioner as the weather was ideal and the windows are spendid! The breeze from the lake is pure summer. (We did use the gas fireplace for heat during our fall trip. It was perfect for heat and ambiance.) We love this place. My sister and I were here together each time. We are in our fifties. Will try to book sooner so we can stay in the summer and in the fall every year. Our fall trip last year was as wonderful as this stay.

Lovely Cottage; Beautiful Setting!
This cozy cottage is updated inside and is simply beautiful in its setting. My sister and I stayed for a long weekend. We have a family cottage in the area and have been coming to Charlevoix for 35 years. The area has stunning nature, water, hiking, woods, water sports, winter sports. Short drives will take you to Traverse City or Petoskey (more bustling). But we like the smaller town feel of Charlevoix . The cottage is easy to find with well maintained roads. It is just a few miles into town or any of the several beaches. The row of cottages is quaint and well maintained. The lake is perfect! Sunsets and breezes and leaves rustling. We had the place all to ourselves, but if you come in the summer I'm sure you'd have many neighbors. We felt very safe even in our solitude. The cottage was stocked with lots of spices, oils and vinegar. The kitchenware is serviceable but could be updated and added to a bit. We cooked a few meals and were able to make do with the available pans and utensils. Lots of blankets and pillows, towels. The gas fireplace is the heat source and so delightful! It was just chilly enough for us in the evenings and mornings to have on for a few hours. I'm sure it would be enough if you needed to heat this small cottage all day. The bedroom has a window air conditioner, but we had no need of it. I imagine the windows all across the front would offer a great breeze and there are two portable standing fans. The bathroom is well equipped and has a grip bar. The shower, though fine for us, may be a bit small if you have a very large person - I'm thinking of a family member who is 6' 4" and 400 pounds. The little loft is truly suitable just for a child, but you could squeeze an adult into the space if don't mind having no headroom. The pull out mattress is not the most comfortable as you first lie down, but you can shift around so that the bars aren't hitting you in the back and I had no trouble sleeping on it all. Communication with Jill was easy before and during our stay. Internet is okay. We could surf but too much buffering to stream. It was fine for our needs. We would most certainly return to this little slice of heaven, and plan to do so. Our time there was exactly what we were seeking - clean, modern, quaint cottage and fresh air with beautiful nature. Highly recommended.

Lovely Family Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at this sweet little cabin. We are a family of 4 with two little ones that were 4 and 5 at the time. The loft upstairs is very small and fit our two little ones perfectly. Anyone bigger may not have fit but it was cute and the kids loved it! We fished off the dock and enjoyed the lake. The location was perfect! Traverse City is only a little over an hour away and downtown Charlevoix was only about a 10 min drive. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle you'll enjoy this cabin and lake.
