Romantic getaway for two!
"Morning Glory" cabin has Panoramic views of Dolly sods, Canaan Valley, and the top of Port Crayon from the kitchen window!

It is in a private community with approximately 17 homes spread out on at least four acres!

Winter, please have four-wheel drive and or snow chains; thanks!

"Morning Glory offers a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere for guests to get refreshed and restored from the inside out!

Beautiful river stone wood-burning fireplace is the heart of the cabin. We provide logs for a few nights of your stay. Please bring kindling wood or a box of fire starter logs to get you started😊

The main bedroom has a king-size bed. Loft has two double beds, a large closet, and plenty of space.

The bathroom boasts an extra large walk-in shower! Kitchen has recently purchased appliances, pots, pans, etc.

Enjoy the hot tub and the small pond in the backyard.

Plenty of outdoor seating, a charcoal grill for cookouts, and an outdoor fire barrel...

Perfect cozy getaway

While the weather was fairly grey for most of our stay, this cabin was the perfect place to be cozy and relaxed while on vacation. The area was blissfully quiet and peaceful, and the horses knew the drill on who to come to for treats. Would love to come down again for the fall when the trees are changing. Definitely a place you want to visit again. And well worth the drive down!

Amazing Property

We had an awesome time at this property in West Virginia. The cabin was meticulously clean and beautiful. The owners were great and always available for questions during our stay. Also, it's right across from a horse farm, so we had a great time feeding the horses apples and carrots. Tons of deer in the yard each morning as well. We will be back!

Great getaway

We were totally impressed with our cabin. This was definitely a get away kind of place, it was exactly what we were looking for….the only problem was we didn’t book it for long enough. The hosts were some of the nicest people we ever met….we will definitely be keeping in touch with Dan and Barbara and staying Here again.

Great place and hosts!

The cabin was amazing and Barb and Dan were excellent hosts! They were very communicative during checkin and offered their help if we needed anything at all during our stay. Dan even restocked the firewood while we were there, which was very much appreciated. We can’t wait to go back!

Peaceful retreat

This cabin is lovely. Remote, peaceful and private. Gorgeous views and everything you need for a restful retreat. Close to all the outdoor things we loved to do; well stocked kitchen for all the meals; incredibly comfortable bed and linens. I would love to stay again. Thank you Barb and Dave!

My brother and I have been staying at one of Barb and Dan’s cabins for years. They make your visit a wonderful, seamless experience, thinking of everything you could possibly need. Whether you mountain bike, hike, leaf peep or just soak in the hot tub and star gaze, it’s a great experience. We’ll be back next fall.

The Perfect Weekend. The drive up Cherry Ridge Road alone is something I loved. The cabin itself is absolutely BEAUTIFUL inside and out. Truly. It was inspiring to hear Dan had built it by hand, once we had arrived and settled. Much respect to that man. Cabin has all the amenities and just went above and beyond our expectations. We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars every night after hiking and seeing the gorgeous sights of Canaan Valley, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, & Spruce Knob. Location of cabin is perfect. The stars and peacefulness of this cabin is something everyone deserves to experience. The neighbors were very friendly and the horses greeted us every morning from the porch. The whole weekend was truly a blessing. Thank you again Barbara & Dan for letting us enjoy your stunning property and hope to see you again soon!

Almost Heaven

My husband and I have stayed in many cabins throughout the states and this one blew all the others away! It was so perfect in every way and all details were thought of to make it a most enjoyable and comfortable stay. It was super clean, with the coziest bed, and amenities, especially the hot tub. But best of all was its beautiful, quiet, and natural location, complete with wildlife and a few domestic four legged visitors, whom we quickly fell in love with! The owners and their neighbors were great, offering helpful local information and insight. Highly recommend staying here, it truly felt almost like heaven!

My husband and I were looking for a remote location to leave the hustle and bustle of life behind. We found it! Every morning and evening you were guaranteed to see deer. Listen to the bull frogs from the pond early morning and late evening. Greeted by both horses and the donkey.everything was there we needed and Dan and Barbara were extremely hospitable and let us know if we needed them they were there! Cabin is very clean and nicely decorated. Owners are friendly and are readily available if needed. Enjoyed mornings sitting on the porch drinking coffee and reading a book as the deer graze. Zero noise and light pollution..,tranquility!!

Another year at the Morning Glory

This is our fourth year in the Canaan Valley and our third at the Morning Glory. It's beautiful, secluded, and comfortable. It is very close to Dolly Sods, Canaan Valley State Park, and Seneca Rocks. 20+ miles to Davis and Thomas. Dan and Barb are the perfect hosts! We want to come again and again. Another plus: 60-72 degrees in the Canaan Valley while everywhere else was 90 degrees! We cannot say enough good things!

Great cabin, great location, great hosts

We had a wonderful time, and we plan to return. Things we most enjoyed were the peace and quiet, the excellent star gazing at night, proximity to good locations for scenery and hiking and the friendly horses. The cabin is spacious, remarkably well-appointed, and clean with all utilities in good working order. The wrap-around porch with hot tub is a great place to relax. So is inside by the wood fireplace.

Mother/Daughter Trip

Dream in Dryfork

Stunning scenery, sensational views and star filled nights made for a spectacular stay! We can’t wait to go back! Barb and Dan, the hosts, were fabulous! Canaan Valley, Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, and Dolly Sods are all within an easy drive. The towns of Davis and Thomas were adorable and had great places to eat. Could not have wanted anything more for our stay. 🌄❤️

We are the vacation owners of "Sunset Cabin" in "Cherry Ridge," listing number 356030.

We enjoyed our little cabins so much that we decided to build another similar to "Sunset Cabin."

We made "Morning Glory" a little bigger, improved the bathroom, and added central air conditioning.

We are from the Tidewater area of Virginia. We moved here to the mountains of WV about 17 plus years ago for skiing, hunting, and hiking but stayed for the summers!

This area of WV has so much to offer for the outdoor enthusiast.: numerous hiking trails, horseback riding, star gazing, hunting, fishing, golfing, kayaking, etc...

All four seasons have something spectacular to offer. This is why we love it here...nature at its best!

Why they chose this property

Our private subdivision, "Cherry Ridge," is a unique place to visit.

Close enough to Canaan Valley state park, Timberline ski resort, Davis, and Thomas but far enough away to feel like you really have gotten away from the business of city life!

The sounds of Nature and abundant wildlife can be experienced here in this peaceful, relaxing setting!

Our goal is for couples to experience the beauty in the stillness ...one of the darkest spots on the east coast enables our guests to see the stars as never before!

We want our guests to walk away relaxed and refreshed for the journey ahead...choose "Morning Glory!" and experience the change!

Our cabins are centrally located to many attractions. All are within 20-45 minutes of the cabins.

The new cabin has central air, a large walk-in shower, and plenty of outdoor seating.

I’m addition, plenty of firewood is provided for a couple of cozy nights around the campfire outside or the fireplace inside!
