My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend and have always enjoyed the Berkshires and specifically the Lenox area. We were fortunate to find this magnificently restored 1881 Farmhouse in a private yet super convenient location just outside Lenox.
The expereince started with our engagement with Teva, who helpful, flexible and provided a very thoughtful gift basket upon our arrival. This house was originally built in 1881 and has great character yet modern finishes particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms.
Overall we felt the house was cozy, comfortable, quaint and clean. The ceilings with light wood brighten up all of the rooms epecially in the bedrooms which were both vaulted creating a very airy and spacious feel.
The kitchen was fantastic. Everything was new, including an excellent farmhouse sink, range, oven, refrigerator, and washer dryer. The room was also well-appointed with everything you need to prepare a snack or a meal.
Both bedrooms were spacious and offered king beds and large closets with plenty of drawer space. The bed was very comfortable. The new bathrooms evoke that “spa-feeling” both have tubs and one with a great walk-in shower.
Sitting on the back deck, you are almost on the tree line. It is a lovely spot to sip a glass of wine and a few appetizers before dinner while enjoying the sky, clouds, and trees.
Finally, the location is exceptional and only 5 minutes from downtown Lenox. Additionally, several nearby historical sites, restored mansions, Tanglewood, and art museums, all within 15 – 45 minutes of the house, making it a great “base camp” for all the area has to offer.
