Lovely home
We enjoyed our time here, especially the pool. Beautiful location! Google maps directions were not accurate but we were able to easily find the driveway after an initial mistake.

Very spacious and well furnished house. I paid extra for pool to be heated it clearly was not. This caused several in our group to not use the best amenity the house offered. Would like a refund, also lots if cobwebs especially in kitchen, which caused uneasiness about overall cleanliness of the house. The outside spaces were not maintained and run down. This could easily remedied and would impact the over all feel of property. Over all lots of space for all and a good time had by our group

I need to write a book; it won’t let me. Dirty. Poor management
We stayed here for my husbands birthday weekend. The pool caught our eye, and the pictures are very well done. Upon arriving, there is NO sign to tell you where the house is off the highway. You have to go through a gravel patch, and through what looks to be a junk yard. Getting to the door, and inside all lights at property were off except a flickering almost burnt out light in the kitchen. We went straight to bed considering we arrived late, and the next morning we jetted off to breakfast in a neighboring small small town. We then went grocery shopping and brought our groceries home. We put what needed to be in fridge away and left rest out on counter on the island and went swimming. The pool cover was broken, and retractor was broken as well. The pool seemed clean and not overflowing with chemicals which was nice. We kept seeing this moving out of corner of our eye but we thought it was just the wind and light. Came to kitchen to start cooking dinner and there were any everywhere! Food was bad. What food we had left we cooked up for dinner. The utensils, and cook was was dirty in cabinets. As food was being cooked, children playing on ground, we saw 4 mice run along wall line and even 2 mice that had no fear and run across the floor and under the couches. I understand that the house is on a vineyard, but for the price and ran by a company, I would expect them to “splurge” for actual pest control. There were cobwebs in every nook and corner of the house. Mouse droppings..

Resort style property
This is the second time we wtayed at this vrbo property and it was absolutely wonderful! The layout of the home is great for a couple of families and the heated indoor pool is the best part. We had a slight hiccup on arrival and the local operations manager, Beverly was super quick to respond and sort everything out (on a holiday). We will 100% be back at this property again.

Great place for rural respite
Beautiful views, easy access to Gorge attractions, across the street from a free exotic animal farm. This was also my seventh visit, we like it that much.

Lots of little issues
While I don’t normally write reviews I felt it necessary this time. The positives: The house is large and actually rather beautiful. The pool is great! The negatives: Unfortunately there were so many small issues that we ended up feeling frustrated with our stay and the money spent. First, in the email that included direction info it says to turn after RJs Tavern and that a blue sign with the address will be visible from the road. There is no RJ tavern but a bar and grill called the Hideaway. Also the visible sign was behind vines, etc and the address was nearly clean worn off. Not a big deal but all the little things add up. Next, the first night we noticed some ants in the kitchen. Not a huge deal but by the end of the trip we ended up finding ants everywhere which included on toothpaste tubes, my husbands cpap machine, dining room table, our legs, etc.. The pool cover retractable machine was broken. They did offer to have people come out to look but we declined as we could do it manually and didn’t want someone randomly showing up to fix it. That being said we did have someone randomly show up to do pool maintenance. We were in the middle of changing out of our swimsuits at the time. It was super awkward. A heads up would have gone a long way. There is just general wear on a lot of things. There’s holes in the chairs upstairs, cracks in the glass of one of the bedroom mirrors, broken pool toys, etc.. There are discarded cars and trucks in the front yard area/driveway. You are already next to a trailer park but having the cars in the yard really adds to not feeling like a luxury property. Last, and probably the most upsetting is that on the second night I looked up while laying in bed and noticed all the black mold on the ceiling. Which is a possible explanation why we were all having headaches randomly throughout our stay. So overall while the pool was fun (even though you feel nickel and dimed by having to pay extra to heat the pool after already paying over $700 a night after fees) the other issues make it the worst house rental experience we have had. It was unfortunate and I truly hope they invest a little to fix the problems and make the fee they charge worth it.

Many problems with heating and amenities
We were a group of three adults and three kids (aged 8-11). For an expensive rental, we had a lot of problems. The heat wasn't working when we got there, had to use plug-in radiators and lots of blankets for the first couple of days until the tech could work on it. Then the pool heat stopped working (didn't get fixed before we left). The gas fireplace/heater wasn't functioning. The bathroom by the laundry/garage was very cold the entire time, and the washing machine leaked. The dishwasher didn't clean dishes (we tried two different cycles) so we had to hand wash everything. The hood over the range didn't work (the control actually fell apart), which is dangerous with a gas range. There's no ice (the ice maker was disabled and there were no ice trays). Most of the ceiling fan remotes were missing, as were many light bulbs (including outside the front door), and knobs for turning on bathroom fans. A smoke detector was missing too. Curtains in the bedroom by the pool were dangling from the rods. We couldn't get the automatic pool cover to work, so we hand folded/unfolded it. (The prior renters did so too.) There were fans running 24/7 in the pool room (we were instructed not to touch them) and error codes on the dehumidifiers showing they needed to be emptied (but no instructions). The internet dropped regularly, which was extra frustrating as we were trying to get work done. There were lots of ants (not just in the kitchen). We called the property management several times about these things. The layout is awkward but the furniture is fine. The kids loved the pool and pool toys until it got too cold.

Pool and Views
Great views and pool! House needs some TLC. It was clean in the important areas but still needs a deep clean. Dishwasher was completely busted and the dishes in the cabinets showed it had been busted for awhile, but the view from the kitchen window made washing dishes delightful!

Perfect getaway spot
My husband and I came from Camas for a long weekend at Grapevine and it was perfect! We didn’t even have to leave the property. The kitchen was incredible, the home was well stocked and very clean and the pool was the perfect icing on the cake. We will absolutely be back to Grapevine with our whole family.

Perfect little getaway - but a bit chilly!
What a fun house to explore, hang out in, and see the weather roll through the Gorge! Thank you for sharing it with others to enjoy. We had a relaxing time and found pretty much everything that needed in the home. TONS of space. It was challenging to find each other in the house at times! Lots of toiletries, supplies, kitchen needs (except for any sort of mixer - no standing one or hand mixer to be found in all the cabinets and drawers). The pool was clean, relaxing, and the highlight of the home. We were happy to see the lock up high on the pool room door to give peace to parents of young children. The pool water felt nice - we were trying to figure out if it was a salt pool. It didn't smell strongly of chlorine or feel irritating to our skin. The floating pool toys all had holes in them and could use replacement, but our kids still enjoyed diving for rings, and shooting balls in the floating hoop. A couple of drawbacks: The house itself is quite chilly because of all of the concrete floors. Although we requested the heat to be turned on in the pool, the heat in the house was not adjusted for fall/winter, and we had to call maintenance to help us. Speedy service and friendly conversation with the two who came to help! Thank you! We had hoped they could fix the fireplace in the main part of the house to cozy it up a bit, but it was broken. The heat was adjusted a bit, and made a difference in our comfort. The back master bathroom is freezing since it looks like it was originally part of the garage - bring lots of layers and wear slippers! Could use some extra heat back there somehow. The wash machine looked as though it hadn't been used in a while - there was some mold in the detergent dispenser - could use a good cleaning. All other rooms/bathrooms/kitchen were clean and tidy, though! There were a couple of random maintenance things that needed updates: The glass cover on one of the light fixtures was sitting on the bed when we arrived, and the curtain rods in the master off of the pool room were broken and falling off of the walls. The only other feedback we'd give is cleaning/sprucing up the exterior front entry area. Although it's fall and lots of leaves/debris easily collect in the windy gorge, it could have been a bit more welcoming. We were glad that we arrived during daylight, since the driveway with some parked trucks/vehicles and surrounding areas are not exactly 'homey.' Overall, we enjoyed this home and could see it easily accommodating a larger group of friends / couples! The huge kitchen / island would be great for parties and celebrations, for sure. The views are pretty stunning! We were grateful to finally see Mt. Hood on our last morning there when the clouds blew out of the way.

Beautiful home!
Everything was beautiful about this house. The only downside was having no A/C. The pool helped a little, but with temps in the low 100s, it was unbearable. Especially at night. It was hard to get a good night sleep. Even with all the fans around the house, it didn’t help. They also need to get a better repairman. Some of the things in the house were falling apart, like the mirrors on the wall would fall just from the door closing. But overall, we had a great time/stay. I would stay there again and recommend it for big families.

Perfect for family getaway...just not in the summer
We stayed at this beautiful home during the hottest week of the year. We knew before getting there that the home, despite being in central Washington and at the tip top of our budget, did not have air conditioning. So we brought our portable air conditioners from home, enough for each bedroom so that sleeping would be possible, but the rest of the house would sit rather uncomfortably at over 100° for the majority of the day. We attempted to keep air flowing throughout the home by opening the few doors and windows that we could but almost none of them had screens (and the ones that did had holes in them) so we were joined inside by many bugs, and one brave lizard. A house that hot also made it hard to keep the refrigerator and freezer at the correct temperature which gave us all some anxiety that our food might spoil. Thankfully, it all stayed *just* on the right side of cold, but not without us using lightening speed to take things out/put things in just to keep as my cold air in as possible. THANK GOODNESS for that gorgeous pool. We were able to keep relative cool by dipping into the indoor pool (and out of the sun and heat) whenever things got to be unbearable. It was truly a saving grace, and also just lots of fun. Unfortunately, we didn't really get to enjoy all that the rest of the home had to offer because of the stifling heat, but maybe we would try this home again someday, when it's *not* 114°. We don't fault the property for the heat...that'd be ridiculous. And we generally knew what we were getting into before getting there, but a home that purports to be that nice should really have AC...or AT LEAST functioning screens on all of the doors and windows. I will say that the property management team did an excellent job of responding quickly when we contacted them with concerns (blown fuse and broken toaster).

Safety Issues & Health Concerns
This property has beautiful views of Mt. Hood & the pool is the best feature by far. However this home is extremely unsafe for children since the pool door blows open even when locked. I was appalled to hear my children ages 5 & 3 in the pool room at 5:30 am when I had latched the door the night before. We are lucky no one fell in & drowned. My husband and I stayed in the pool house room and his legs are covered up & down with what matches the description of bed bugs. The lack of Air Conditioning in 100 degree heat for $1,000 a night is ridiculous. If you aren’t able to provide nice amenities (including working/good condition kitchen supplies) don’t charge such a high rate. The coffee pot only brews six of 12 cups and leaves the rest of the water in a pool at the top of the pot. The kitchen drawers are full of crumbs and random “junk” drawers. There is only 1 knife other than butter knives. The shower in the upstairs bedroom doesn’t turn on. The ice machine has been removed. There are other items but we don’t want this review to seem too harsh. The health and safety of this property is the #1 priority. If we can help another family stay safe and have an enjoyable stay, please book elsewhere.

Perfect for family get together
PROS This property is great for what it is, an older home in a harsh climate. It was great for every age 2-70. We loved being able to have a pool, indoor basketball court and ping pong room to ourselves. The view of the mountain was spectacular!! The manager responded very quickly when we had a question. CONS The house is so large that some of the deep cleaning suffers. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean. There were several things that didn’t work and could benefit from some TLC (stove hood, upstairs shower trickled, couldn’t turn on some of the fans, the curtains wouldn’t close because they weren’t on the curtain rod). The biggest issue is that there is no AC, the listing is says there is. It got above 90 degrees inside when the temperature outside was only 80. There weren’t screens on all the windows so we couldn’t leave them open. I can’t imagine how hot it would be if the temperatures were any higher.

Winery/pool house
The approach to the property was disappointing. There was literally no maintenance outside. And the kitchen was poorly stocked and the stove exhaust was not functional. No one cooks today with plastic spoons and ancient teflon pots. But the pool was huge and amazing. Kids loved it.The house was beautiful and spacious. And the location was amazing. Three wineries on the road to the house. And "The Dalles" is right across the river. Plus the dam, parks, museums (closed while we were there). Just suggest the owners do more with the kitchen so its more functional. Our overall stay was very enjoyable.

Amazing!
The house was beautiful and had amazing views of the river and Mt. Hood. There are definitely some quirks, but overall the house was nice. The heating needs worked on because it was not working well. Some rooms were really hot and the main part of the house got really cold over night. The pool was wonderful and heated nicely. 10/10 would go again!

Large house - lots to be desired - wouldn’t rent again.
The house is very large and plenty of space for several families. The pool is also large and plenty of room for the group. The ping pong table and basketball hoops are a nice addition. We rented it for the pool which was a great treat! The VRBO/Vacasa reps are responsive and helpful. The kitchen is well stockedwoth dishes and cooking supplies. There are plenty of towels for the pool and bathrooms and they supplied all the soaps needed. It would be wise to have a broom/dustpan and/or carpet sweeper for just every day cleaning. The house is not waterfront and not a vineyard so the listing is not truthful. The house, while large was clearly cheaply built with very thin windows that rattle immensely with the wind, the previous complaints about the counters, lights, showers are all true. It is priced as a luxury home and it is not luxury. It is significant need of a deep clean. You can see all the areas the owners cut corners when they built their home and clearly are not maintaining. (The counters are peeling extremely for example) The internet is not good enough for work from home or online school and cell is dependent on carrier. The heat is impossible to get right and it never warms the bedroom with the laundry connected. That room connects to a garage with a glass door letting all cold air in. The pool area has to have the patio doors open all the time due to the condensation but also prevents full closure of the doors in the attached bedroom and kitchen doors are too warped to close. The house is next to a trailer park that may or may not be a recreation and permanent residence style. It is not attractive and the front of the house upon driving in has several what appear to be broken down vehicles in front. Certainly not the appearance you expect from the listing. There is a significant ant problem that requires a dedicated pest control plan. There are ants in the kitchen/dining/living area and the bedroom off the pool area - all the way in the counters, bedside tables, etc. - each morning my phone had ants on it after charging on the bedside table. We would not rent this house again. This is not the fault of VRBO/Vacasa - it is all on the owners.

Beatiful area, fun pool, strange house
We rented this house for the pool. Based on other reviews I had to call multiple times to ensure that the pool was actually heated before our arrival and in fact it was a perfect temperature. The pool deck is insanely slippery, so be very, very careful. The rest of the house is large and comfortable, but has a lot of "quirks". Most notably are the fact that there's very little light around the house (as well as a number of bulbs being out when we arrived). And multiple outlets around the house don't work...some of which were very problematic. Finally Vacasa sent someone to work on a "broken heat pump" (which we had no idea wasn't broken) and didn't warn us a stranger would be entering the house and they didn't have a mask on. Both items are real deal breakers for us.

Quick and Courteous
The overall house is very large and open and was a very relaxing experience. The pool area has amazing views on clear days and stayed nice and warm during our time there. The kitchen and eating area also supported a nice view of the mountain and river. While we were there the freezer door ice dispenser had an issue (which didn’t bother us) so we called the customer number. The service was very quick and polite and within minutes of ending the call to report the problem a technician called to identify when he could come look and fix the issue without interrupting our vacation.

Messy
This place was quite large and spacious, however, it had a significant amount of issues. 1. Our bed just caved in during the middle of the night! We were lucky that no one, including our 2 year old kid, got hurt. 2. There are multiple light bulbs in the house that don't work. 3. Multiple towel racks don't have screws and just fall as soon as you hang a towel. 4. There were random cars parked right outside the house. This is supposed to be a private property. 5. Lot of the insect screens are torn, so you can't really open the windows without letting in bugs. On a 100F day, like when we were there, it made things very unpleasant. While the pool and the views were a saving grace, it was really disappointing to have these many issues when you are paying high end $$ rates.

False advertising, terrible condition, terrible service
SO many problems, one of the worst rentals we've ever stayed in, and SO expensive for the quality. When we checked in at 4:00 the house was 94 degrees on the lower floor and over 100 degrees upstairs. Not one of the ceiling fans worked. The ice maker and fridge water were broken. We immediately called the Vacasa manager and after trying everything to get the heat off and fans working she finally called the maintenance man who got there at about 6:30 pm. He told us there was no AC! It was advertised as air conditioned. It turns out they have radiant floor heat/cooling. Once he fixed it it got down to 86 degrees at about 9:00 p.m. None of us slept that first night. The next morning it was 78 degrees which was about as cool as it got. After the fans were fixed you can only use them if the light is on. Not helpfully for trying to stay cool at night. The pool heat was never turned on despite the fact we paid an extra daily fee for this. The maintenance man turned the pool heat on and it was okay by mid day on Friday. The kids enjoyed the pool despite the temp and the very slippery pool area. The condition of the home is pretty bad, despite being advertised as luxurious and previous reviews detailing broken things. Missing or ripped screens on a lot of windows, fan on the stove didn't work, trash and broken sprinklers scattered outside. The downstairs toilet had to have the tank lid taken off for every flush or it ran constantly. Finding the place was hard because it is a very tiny lane right off the highway and very easy to miss. The house is directly next to a trailer park and not secluded or waterfront as advertised. The Wi-fi didn't work until they gave us a different password and then it was still very spotty. We would never have booked it if we had known about the AC or that the house is not well cared for and is not luxurious or secluded. Vacasa and the owners clearly dont care about taking care of this house or the previous feedback from guests. Vacasa eventually gave us a partial refund but was awful to deal with and their communication is terrible. There has been no apology or mention of fixing anything despite providing them a detailed list of issues with our stay. We are typically easy going and rarely write a bad review but this one warranted it. Don't book through Vacasa, they are terrible (although the manager and the maintenance guy were trying their best). And don't book this home!

Great House
House was great, kids love the pool. Property manager responded very quickly when we had a question. I have recommend this house to a bunch of friends and family and can’t wait to get back there myself.
