About this property

The Orchid Suite @ The Kennedy Manor

Welcome to the Orchid Suite: one of the most popular and nicely furnished rooms within the manor.

This room is a nicely equipped suite with it's own sitting room, private deck and fantastic view of the Lehigh valley. The deck is lighted and has a small table with two chairs; it is perfect for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

The sitting area is furnished with a queen size sofa bed that is perfect for those couples that wish to have their smaller children sleep in the same room. This suite, like all the rooms at the Kennedy Manor, has it's own en-suite bathroom furnished with a walk in shower, huge double sink vanity, and heating ceiling sun lamp.

The room is highly configurable and can be customized in many different ways to suit the needs of the occupants. During the day, the center table seats 6 and is perfect for family games, hobbies or perhaps a table puzzle. This table slides into the corner and out of the way to provide space for the custom king size Murphy bed. Day or night, a variable speed ceiling fan assures proper air circulation to meet your personal comfort preferences.

A well equipped bar/service area highlights the central section of the room and is crowned with a 60" wall mounted HDTV. The bar boasts it's own ice maker, toaster and coffee maker, and, like all the rooms has it's own refrigerator (stocked with complimentary drinks including red and white wine and champagne). Enough utensils, glasses and plates are provided to accommodate small snacks and/or breakfast. An in-room wall safe is tucked nicely behind the signed Emile Bellot artwork.

Although not strictly part of the rental (but included with the East Wing package), the Upper Loft is attached to the Orchid Room and separated with a sliding pocket door. This loft is part of the house 'common area' and overlooks the sun room (with it's fireplace and self playing grand piano) and is accessed via the spiral staircase.

The HDTV and variable speed ceiling fan are conveniently controlled remotely while relaxing comfortably from the Murphy bed. If you just prefer to sit and relax in peace and quiet, choose a book from the 'mini-library' located in the shelves of the bed, and relax in the vibrating recliner.

All sheets, pillows and towels are provided as are the basic bathroom needs. The Orchid room is ideally suited for families of two to four.

Located in the heart of Amish country and overlooking Kutztown University, the massive private home boasts fabulous views, gardens and outdoor decks that will accommodate even the most discerning travelers.

Situated on 4 acres, the home, while very open in design, has been compartmentalized to provide complete privacy for parties of 2-20 persons (dependent upon your specific needs), while each room maintains complete access to the common area which include: sun room with fireplace and grand piano; library (also with fireplace), theater, video arcade, loaded with more than 50 popular games and popcorn machine; gym; wine cellar (with separate bar area with refrigerator and ice maker); enormous entertainment room with fireplace, pool table, dart board, casino style card tables, slot machines and full size wet bar equipped with dishwasher, two temperature wine cooler, refrigerators and freezer.

The home houses an excellent art collection including originals and signed, limit edition works and sculptures by: Salvador Dali, Pino, Antole Krasnyansky, Nano Lopez, Jane Seymour (Yes! That Jane Seymour), Fanch Ledan, Michael Godard, Itzchak Tarkay, Linda LeKinff, Peter Nixon, Emile Bellet and many other world famous artists.

Come and relax after your daily activities and play the grand piano (or let it play by itself for you) located in the sun room or read in the solitude of the many available reading "nooks". With a total of seven fireplaces, even the coldest winter days can be enjoyed in comfort at The Kennedy Manor.

Looking for Snow
My Grandson and I were looking for a nice B & B for a future trip. My grandson had never seen snow. We used The Kennedy Manor as a starting point. We traveled as far north as Scranton and only encountered a short Flurry on our way up a mountain. We arrived at The Manor, and we were greeted by Mona and Bill. This was the beginning of a delightful stay at a beautiful, well maintained home overlooking the Lehigh Valley. This you must see for yourself. My Grandson was kept busy playing pool, and watching movies, when he wasn't walking the grounds, and I was satisfied just enjoying the view. We are hoping to return later this year with other family members, who are ready for this experience.

Beautiful People; Beautiful Place!
There is a tremendous shortage today of amazing people in our world — but there’s assurance of hope and promise for a brighter tomorrow after meeting Bill and Mona Kennedy. Kind, generous, thoughtful … they just might be VRBO’s poster couple for how to treat guests. He is a war hero, putting his life on the line for our country, flying Phantom F-4s during Vietnam. She is a gentle spirit whose very eyes exude love and affection for all. Their place: Kennedy Manor. Just outside beautiful downtown Kutztown in Berks County, PA. A slice of Heaven. Picturesque. Pristine. Beauty around every corner, and a breathtaking vista from top of their hill you will not want to leave! Gorgeous! The Kennedy Manor is a merger of art and luxury. Ask Bill to give you a tour — the home he built with his own hands is truly stupendous. Movie theater with 1200 films to choose from … a casino rivaling that in the James Bond “Casino Royale” (Bill is a huge Bond fan and even has a portrait autographed by “Live and Let Die” Jane Seymour … immaculate and maintained bedrooms and living areas that make it difficult to leave and visit the area and family you traveled to see! Bill and Mona care about their place — even more evident is how much they appreciate those who visit. Kennedy Manor is a treasure. Only surpassed by the two fabulous people who run it. Thanks, Bill. Thanks, Mona. You took such good care of our special needs family. And, our Gracie. We will never forget you. Or, our stay at beautiful Kennedy Manor!
