This recently upgraded, spacious 1000+ sf condo has all the comforts of home. If what you are looking for is a private oceanfront condo, just a short distance to Kailua-Kona's restaurants and shops, your search is over! This spacious corner unit is fully equipped for a comfortable stay.

Wonderful

This was our third time staying at D8 and it was just as magical as the first two visits! We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the beautiful sunsets over the ocean! There was plenty of room for my family of 4 to be comfortable. We used the beach chairs, towels, and coolers that were provided for our daily outings to the beach. There were snorkels and fins in the unit for our snorkeling trip to Captain Cook. We were able to walk into town for shopping and dining every day!

Kona

Wow!! We loved sitting on the lani every morning and evening watching the boogie boarders and surfers. The porximity to the water is amazing. Our kids enjoyed playing catch out infront of the condo every night. We have stayed at multiple VRBO's this one is hands down the most stocked kitchen, great knives, and spices. It also has beach chairs umbrellas, toys, and snorkle gear. We had wonderful stay.

Fantastic location right next to ocean!

We had a fantastic family trip to Kona staying at this condo. The hosts left all sorts of nice touches including guidebooks for the island, beach and snorkel gear, great coffee and snacks, etc that made it that much more special. Having breakfast and dinner on the lanai looking at the surf was truly memorable. The on site pool was great - literally spent hours in it each morning and parts of the afternoon too! Regarding some other comments, yes it’s not a 5 star luxury resort and some items could use TLC (eg a leaky faucet in the hall bath) but it really is a comfortable home away from home!

Incredible!

We absolutely loved this place. The view was amazing, sunsets WOW, watching surfers and cruise ships. They have everything you need, coolers, snorkel gear, beach chairs. Would love to stay here again if we come back. Thank you!

Great property! But be aware of fees

Pros. Very nice property in a great location. Quick walking distance into downtown Kona. Management team is very helpful and responds to questions quickly. Check in was super easy. Cons. Parking spots are tight. During the day parking is easy but if you come back in the evening you have to find street parking due to no spots left. Check fees!! We ended up paying a lot of money in taxes and fees for our 10 day stay. They only supply 3 days of toilet paper, thought that was odd. Overall great location and property. Not sure if I would be able to rebook due to fees but that may be the case other properties too. I will check in the future.

Perfect condo for a Kona stay

The unit is well maintained and appointed. The location is walking distance to town and shops, the pool and the beach. What more could you want? How about a killer view of the ocean and being able to watch the whales frolic as you enjoy cocktails! Everything was great. We would highly recommend.

Not a better view on the Big Island!!

The property was excellent. The views from the Lanai areas good as you can get on the island. We saw whales breaching nearly every day and the sunsets were spectacular. The complex is very well maintained with a nice pool and hot tub. It doesn't get any better than this.

2nd time at Kona Reef

This condo was amazing. The view, cleanliness, amenities and all of the comforts of home, were 2nd to none. Communication was spot on as we were flying Alaska Air and didn't know if flight would be canceled, delayed, etc. None of that happened but was nice to have prompt response with questions. I can't say enough about this place and the people managing it! Thank you all so much!

Beautiful place right on the water

We loved our stay. It was clean and very comfortable. All amenities provided. Extra beach chairs, beach towels and even sunscreen. It was wonderful to sit out on the lanai every morning and drink our coffee that they left for us.

Great Find - everything we needed

We loved everything about this condo - location, accoutrements, comfort, view, etc. The location of the property is perfect with great access to Kona and the surrounding area. Walking distance to a great variety of restaurants and bars along the waterfront. Plus, we LOVED the ground floor, corner/end unit location on the water with a sunset view! Privacy plus quick and easy access to the complex, pool, parking and walk to town. Several local beaches with great swimming and/or snorkeling within 10-30 minutes' drive. The unit is one of the most thoroughly outfitted condos that we've ever rented - kitchenware, beachware, towels, coolers, reference books, binoculars, etc. We had everything we needed for our first visit to The Big Island. Immediate response on any questions. Beds were comfortable and the space was roomy and comfortable. Being 15 feet from the ocean was a bonus! Beautiful sunsets and the sound of crashing waves around the clock. I would stay here again.

Retirement celebration

We had an extraordinary stay at Kona Reef D8. There were three of us, & we spent 6 glorious days & nights. The condo had everything we needed-a full assortment of glasses, coffee cups, dishes, & cookware. Spices, cooking oil-you name it. A cooler for day trips, reusable bags for shopping & snacks, towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, aloe vera gel for my sunburn. Our favorite thing to do every day was sit on the lanai in the morning & evening, watching all there was to see-a variety of birds, the surf, cruise ships, unbelievable views & colors of the sky. We also saw women swimming in preparation for Ironman. We absolutely loved our accommodations.

Surfers right outside every morning!

Clean and bright, and the perfect configuration for our family - our two young adult daughters shared the room with two twin beds. Lots of pool/beach items available to use. There are a few minor spots that could use some updating/small repairs, but overall this place is just what you see in the pictures. This first-level corner spot is nice. Of the two places we stayed on the Big Island of Hawai'i, this was the best location. If we had to do it over again, we would stay here longer and do day trips to the destinations that are a little closer to the Hilo side. Even though we stayed in a beautiful home on the East side, it was FAR from everything. This place, on the other hand, is walkable to town and within reasonable driving distance to many other island attractions.

Stunning- We can't wait to come back!

The location is a dream- you are steps away from the ocean and can hear it. Love the floor to ceiling windows! The condo itself is spacious, clean and very well stocked. Besides the basics, we appreciated the beach towels, cooler and other beach items; and the local treats! (thank you!) We really appreciated the responsiveness of the management company, who was always very prompt in replying and courteous. Parking was very easy. We are so happy that we found you and can't wait to come back!!!

Amazing Location

Our family had the most incredible time at this condo. The view was absolutely beautiful and we watched the spectacular sunset every night from our lanai. The condo was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed including extra towels, beach chairs, cooler, etc. The location was perfect to walk to restaurants, shops, and the local farmer’s market. This was definitely the perfect place to stay and we will certainly be back in the future.

Wonderful Property!

This condo was everything advertised and more! Lovely location right on the waterfront. Minutes walk from the shops. There were so many “extras” in the home from the spices to the beach equipment and sunscreen to the toiletries. Wow! We were impressed and happy. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Kona!

Great Ocean Front Location

The condo was very clean and the kitchen was well equiped. The location was a perfect launching off point for many activities in the area (e.g., National Historical Sites, beaches, restaurants, and downtown Kailua Kona). Given that we had three adults staying in the unit, we appreciated having two bedrooms and full baths. Our favorite part of this condo was the lania and ocean front views, which were a fantastic place for morning coffee and dinners! In addition, we appreciated the welcome gifts provided, the cooler, and beach chairs. The cooler and chairs were great to have on day trips around the area. We would definitely stay here again and recomend this unit.

Family Reunion

This is a wonderful condo! Great location and beautiful view! We enjoyed spending time on the lanai watching the ocean. The condo had lots of extra amenities which we appreciated - spices, many items for water sports and play, beach umbrella, lawn chairs, etc. The manager was very helpful and gracious. We really liked this condo and hope to go back there next year.

This condo was just as advertised. The location was great. The condo was very well equipped and large enough to accommodate our family. The property as a whole was definitely older and could use some renovations however that didn't affect our stay at all. Our kids loved exploring the rocks and the beach.
