Saturday Adventures

We had a great time and the space was perfect for our group. I knew Jennifer so communicated a lot of ideas with her for future. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity comes again. Location was great too.

This property was the ideal setting for our 2024 Family Christmas gathering! Picturesque setting, large cabin and very clean. While I had great response and conversations with the cabin owners, I found it difficult to communicate with the vrbo staff.Kudos to the owners - such a tremendous property for family gatherings! We will be back!

We loved our stay, it was wonderful! The cabin & property were beautiful & fulfilled our every need. We made some great family memories there. The only thing preventing a perfect review was an awkward door experience- the master bath had no doors so everything was open to the bedroom. The barn doors for the bedrooms & the main bathroom were a little finicky.

Perfect and peaceful location

We loved our stay at Mile High Cabin! We had multiple couples in our group and the cabin was well laid out for each of us to have plenty of space. We brought along UTVs and bikes and loved the location for accessing both UTV trails and the Mickelson trail! We plan to return this winter for a snowmobile/ski trip! The basement rec room was a nice added bonus on our one rainy day.

Perfect for Trail Riding

Easy access, close to trails, large driveway for trailers. We had 3 families with a bunch of kids to go trail riding. Everything fit our group perfectly. Host was responsive to questions. Only negative was the side door had a hornet nest hopefully its gone for the next guests.

Family fun all around!

We all loved our stay at Mile High Cabin! The kids and teens had plenty of space to spread out, play games downstairs and chill by the backyard fire. The hot tub was a welcoming respite after a long day of touring the area which has SO many things to do. Kitchen is spacious a works well for cooking for a large group. The hosts were very quick to reply to questions. The only thing I’d change would be to add a bathroom door to the master bath. We shared the bathroom with our kids (each of our three families claimed a bathroom for our family) so without a separate door for the bathroom from the bedroom it was less convenient to be able to have someone be able to change or be in the bedroom while someone was using the bathroom which is also a gorgeous space. Not a deal breaker by any means, just could be awkward for those wanting more privacy like our teens :) thanks for an amazing stay!

Spacious for large groups

Check in was very efficient, hosts responded quickly to concerns and questions. The area was quiet. Our large group had plenty of space to spread out. The basement bunk beds however do not have top railings! The game room was amazing and kept everyone busy. It was a great time.

Family trail riding trip

Overall, this is a great place to stay for a larger group, although with a few quirks people should know. Pros: very clean; great, responsive host; lots of big comfortable beds; not too far from Lead, but feels secluded in the woods; lots of large, comfortable gathering places to hang out; fun things for kids/adults to do: big TV, hot tub, pool table, ping pong table, video games; great, functional kitchen; large driveway to park multiple vehicles; close enough to ATV trails to drive off from the cabin Cons: some accessibility issues that could cause problems for people with mobility issues, such as no hand railings on stairs and loose, warped boards on back patio that cause a tripping hazard; one bathroom is part of the master suite and there is no door between the bedroom and bathroom, so that bathroom cannot be easily shared; the second bathroom has a sliding barn door that often leaves a gap at the side as well as a gap at the bottom, especially as it swings outward from the bottom, so isn't great if you aren't super comfortable with the other people you are traveling with seeing/hearing you use the bathroom; the two bunk beds in the basement do not have top railings, so would only be good for older teens to sleep in; although not a ton, there were more than average cleaning chores requested of guests at checkout despite the decent size cleaning fee

Awesome Cabin!

Could not have been a better place for our ministry retreat. Plenty of room and in a great location- far enough from town to feel secluded and near enough that we were not far from food and activities. Thank you!

Great place for large group

Our family of 14 was very impressed, comfortable, and had a wonderful time here. Kitchen is well equipped, cabin was clean and the game room & hot tub tons of fun! Our Host(s) were very responsive and friendly. Plenty of parking space made it easy for multiple vehicles and we appreciated use of the garage. All in all, our best annual Black Hills vacation yet!

Our thoughts about this stay

This property is in a very quiet area of the Black Hills. It is close to main roads for getting around. We were very impressed with the cabin floor plan, allowing us to have separate alone time or gathering together as a big group.

Tucked away perfection

I loved the location and the peaceful vibe of Mile High. Driving up to the house the cabin gives a quaint and rustic impression but the inside reveals an expansive layout and generous accommodations. The attention to detail and design added to the comfortable and warm atmosphere. We will absolutely be checking availability of Mile High for our next visit.

Great Stay

Really enjoyed our stay with family. Great location. Very spacious and well equiped cabin. Snow and winter weather makes exiting a little tricky on the steep hill. No major complaints and would certainly stay again. The only complaint is cabin lighting is pretty dark. Especially in the main living room where many lights were out. Even with replacements it will probably be a little dark. Lots of ceiling lights were out. Untl replacements can be made, a couple of lamps would help. While a little pricey, its a great place for a large groupl. Considering going back in the summer to ride the bike trails. You won't be dissapointed with this place.
