This restored 3200 Sq. Ft. home was the original Tahquitz River Estates model home for Paul Trousdale, renowned Beverly Hills developer. It boasts 4 bedrooms, including 2 master suites, and a total of 3.5 baths. The dining room and living room, complete with original 1950's bar, spill into an outdoor seating area, large private pool, Jacuzzi spa and hot water shower. Enjoy the sun on 2 double and 2 single chaise lounges, take in a movie in front of the 60 inch big screen. A beautifully decorated home for entertaining relaxing get aways.

Palm Springs area activities include world class golf, hiking, horseback riding, Las Vegas style casinos, botanical gardens, desert landscape parks and the world famous Palm Springs Ariel Tram. Experience shopping and fine dining located a short drive to the village.

Everything was amazing! Doug was awesome at check in and made us feel so welcome! Great house, air was great, pool and spa were great! We would definitely come back! Beautiful house and great location!

The Perfect Palm Springs Home

We booked this home for a bachelorette weekend (8 girls) and we all absolutely loved it. It's perfectly retro and unbelievable well kept for how original it is. I did have to meet Doug when checking in for a walkthrough, which was very helpful and I think it's what makes this home different in how its kept up with no issues whatsoever. The pool and hot tub were great. There is a water feature in the backyard, which created the perfect atmosphere when having our coffee outside in the morning. The kitchen had all the stuff you need and then some. AC worked great the whole time. Everyone agreed that this is a home to favorite and always check for availability. Thank you for having us!

Family gathering

Our family was very comfortable here in the heat of the summer. Very clean, spacious, and had everything that we needed. Would come back for sure. A larger dining table for a place that sleeps 10 would be nice, but we couldn’t get the kids out of the pool to gather for dinner anyways! Good times.

Getaway Weekend

We rented this house for the weekend. Everyone wanted to get out of LA and relax in Palm Springs and we did just that. The house is huge with every amenity you can think of and It’s close to markets and downtown. Obviously we spent the majority of our time in the huge pool. There was plenty of space inside the home for everyone to lounge (my favorite room was easily the Madmen style TV room). The kitchen had all the necessary equipment for preparing all our meals and overall we had a wonderful time in this big beautiful home. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you again for letting us borrow your home for our getaway.

We had a great time in PS

The home was very nice, function, decor and the property manager was very helpful. Our only regret was that we only stayed three nights. Next time we shall stay at least four. The pool was great, the grandkids practically lived in it. The shaded patio was very comfy and large with a very good view of the pool. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and will likely rent it again.

Perfect Stagecoach House!

Me and a group of my friends stayed here for stagecoach and it was absolutely perfect. We were able to come a day early and spend the day by the pool. It was amazing! The house is beautiful and very spread out. We had an amazing time and Kevin was very accommodating to us! Check in and check was super simple. Would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it!

It was beautiful and perfect!

We spent the weekend here for Stagecoach. It was the perfect place to enjoy the nice weather, swimming, bbqing and just hanging out. The home was beautiful, spacious, reasonable in price, and we will definitely be recommending it to our friends! We hope to stay here again sometime!

Fantastic location

The location of this place is wonderful, located on a very quiet street yet very close to downtown (5 minute drive max). Loved the layout (bedrooms far away from any other activities like dining, cooking, media room) and it felt HUGE. Some fun decor was found throughout the home, along with groovy lighting, furniture, etc. Pool and spa were heated as requested, and it was pet friendly (there's even a doggy door...super helpful). The media room is fantastic, with a very large screen and great sound, all easily controlled with remotes and well-written instructions. There were some minor quibbles with the place (only 4 coffee cups for a place that accommodates 8), broken toilet seat in one bathroom (fixed the next day) and broken shower door in another, but all in all we really enjoyed our stay.

Best Palm Springs House Yet!

The property owner was very kind & easy to communicate with. Our group needed to check out later on a Sunday & he was very accommodating. As for the home owner, he was very sweet & understandable when it came to us checking in late. He was very hospitable, & we felt extremely welcomed. This house is spacious, & we loved how there were many parts to the house. Everyone had their own privacy due to the layout, & there were many areas of the house that were perfect for groups hanging out. No neighborhood complaints, as we were able to play music inside the house & a small amount outside during the day when we were lounging at the pool. Another plus side is the pool felt amazing during the summer night! No need for pool heating when you're in 100+ degree weather. This place was relaxing & our friends would definitely come back & rent out for the weekend again! Thank you, thank you Doug & Kevin! You guys are the best!!!

Perfect get-a-way

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time staying at this house. There was plenty of room for all of us - the bedrooms were spacious and kitchen was the perfect size to prepare breakfast and mid-day snacks. The pool was perfect for hanging out and relaxing and the umbrellas gave us a break from the warm sun. The house was clean and Kevin was great to work with. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Vacation Home

This house was perfect for my large group. It is bigger and nicer than the pictures, as the photos don't show how spacious and well laid out the house is. Plus, the huge backyard with lounge chairs, pool, jacuzzi, waterfall, etc, was magnificent. The house is super well-equipped with everything you could want in the kitchen, plus games and books and even beach towels. The TV room gave us an extra bedroom which closed off for privacy and had its own half-bath. The house was close to everything in Palm Springs, yet felt private and safe.

Totally AMAZING

This house is even nicer and more spacious than the photos suggest. A small group of us visited for Coachella and regretted not being able to spend more time at the house. It's such a relaxing space and well divided with the bedrooms separate from the communal areas of the house. The kitchen is spacious and allowed for cooking large meals and the TV Room/Den was an added bonus that we didn't even realize existed. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi area is also perfect. The pool is definitely one of the bigger pools I've seen in Palm Springs and the combination of sitting chairs and beach chairs gave everybody just what they needed. The property mangers were very attentive and quick to reply during the initial booking process (Aiyana) and while we were at the house (Zamara). Overall, this was a really great stay and we can't wait to visit again very soon!

Huge sunny backyard with a huge pool

This is our fifth VRBO rental and our third in Palm Springs and were treated great throughout the entire process. The pictures don't do the property justice as you don't get a sense of how large the backyard is until your standing there with a drink in your hand. Being in Palm Springs many times we know how important a west or south backyard can be with the cool nights or even during the day, we a little unsure of this place prior to arrival due to the north backyard. Don't worry the pool gets full sun from early morning till sunset over the mountains. From other reviews the TV room is not described as well as it should be so I will try to do it justice. Basically it is a converted two car garage that is accessed through the kitchen and has a huge sectional, two chairs wet bar and a huge TV. Now we didn't go to Palm Springs to watch TV but early in the morning it is a nice place to have a coffee without bothering anyone else. We had two families for the time we were there and all talked about the size of the rooms and cleanliness of the house. The two master suites made it simple to prepare for the day and the outside shower was used on more than one occasion for a morning shower. The backyard is completely private and you could wander around naked it that was your bent and you would not be seen any anyone except the doves singing on the overhead power lines. For those travelling with children there is some risque art in the house but nothing a hand towel couldn't hide. The only other suggestion would to have a diving board installed a the deep end or a ladder to get out, which would increase the value of such a big pool. We all loved the house and if we were looking for a 4 bedroom house again we would not hesitate to return

Family/Friends Getaway

I recently stayed at this beautiful property over Presidents Weekend. Our group included three couples and three children. This house was perfect for our party and a lovely change from the Resort experience. (No getting up at 8 a.m. to claim deck chairs!) On the practical side, the house is completely equipped; we had only to bring our own food. Also, with a party of this size, personal space is important and this house provided private space for each family. Aesthetically, the mid-century decor of the house and the quiet neighborhood is just what were wanted from a Palm Springs stay. The proximity to downtown is a huge plus. Every day, we (kids and all) mounted our bikes and made our way downtown for a fantastic meal. Oh, did I mention the view of the mountains? If you stay here, I recommend taking a walk or a bike ride around the neighborhood to check out the mid-century modern architecture. As camp coordinator for this stay, I'm happy that my friends enjoyed this house as much as I did!

Paradise in Palm Springs

We drove for 10 hours to get to Palm Springs from the San Francisco Bay Area, so were in desperate need of rest and relaxation by the time we arrived at this home. The house couldn't have provided a better place for just that. We ventured out each day over the Thanksgiving break to explore the surrounds (the Living Desert, the Aerial Tram, Indian Canyon, the Tahquitz canyon and Downtown - walking distance) and returned to our own private oasis each afternoon. The kids especially loved playing in the pool and then collapsing infront of the wide screen TV in the late evening for a movie (plenty of DVD options available). The jacuzzi was perfect for sore leg muscles after long walks. The kitchen was well appointed and stocked with a lot of food, which were free to use. We cooked a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with all the trimmings (even though we are Australian - but thankful Australians) which we enjoyed in the dining room. There was plenty of space for 6 of us (3 kids, 3 adults) and the kids would have been entertained all day in the pool and lovely yard. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Lots of areas to stretch out and keep out of each other's way, if needed. Everything was great - lots of everything we needed (including toilet paper...often a problem for families with kids in vacation rentals). Thanks so much for the perfect place to stay and explore Palm Springs. A great place to feel the mid-century vibe and have a great break aswell. We will be back...

Lovely Home

We just had a wonderful stay over Memorial Day weekend. The house comfortably fit 8 adults with the four bedrooms in one section and also has areas to congregate and socialize on the opposite end with doors in between so that any noise could be kept to a minimum, if necessary. The house is in a great location, just about a mile from the downtown area and close to grocery stores and coffee shops. The pool area is fantastic and has ample seating areas for guests to enjoy. We spent most of our time outside, soaking up the sun, but the dining room table was a perfect place for some card games. We are already thinking about the next time we might have the opportunity to return!

Great House

Four of us rented the house over New Years 2012. We stayed at the house three years earlier and wanted to come back. The house is large and very comfortable, with two suites that open onto the patio to give more direct access to the pool and hot tub. The other two rooms are also very comfortable, although the room with the single beds is probably better suited for children and not adults. The living room is very comfortable, and the large gas fireplace was perfect for chilly winter nights. The media room is terrific, with its own wet bar, very comfortable sectional couch and huge television -- great for watching DVDs. The kitchen is very well appointed, with lots of dishes and silverware and cooking pots. Our one concern was that the dishwasher didn't work as well as it should. It's an older model and it had difficulty handling large amounts of dishes and cookware. The pool is gorgeous and the spa easily fit four adults comfortably. We LOVE the outdoor shower, even in December! We love the location and the view of the San Jacinto mountains in the background. We had a great stay and recommend the house. The owner is very pet-friendly, too, which made it much easier for all of us with dogs.

Bunko Trip

We spent the weekend hanging out in the house - 12 women - lots of food and drink. We relaxed the entire weekend in luxury. The house was spacious and still very comfortable. We could spend time together or go find somewhere to have alone time.

This is our new "Happy Place" :)

We have rented several homes in Palm Springs in the past decade, and this was our first year in this house and it was a particular treat. Our group stayed for a week in April. Palm Springs itself was, of course, gorgeous and this home really allowed us to take full advantage of the amazing weather. Our first impression of this house was that it was large and had distinctive, separate areas, that there would be something for everyone there. However, it became quickly apparent that all of us were most comfortable congregating in the lanai area just outside the living room if not in the pool or jacuzzi. Our days were spent re-connecting with old friends and getting better acquainted with some newer friends in the clean desert air and warm desert sun. The whole backyard was very secluded and private, which we all appreciated. The house itself is no less than absolutely charming. The decor inside and out gives you the instant comfort that you are in a home that is warm and welcoming. It was well-equipped for that stay for our group, we just had to bring our groceries and we were set for the week. I particularly enjoyed the large den that was located on the opposite side of the house from the bedrooms. I am a bit of an insomniac and it was no problem to watch TV or listen to music in that room late at night without disturbing any of the other sleeping guests. This room even had its own entrance to the outside. This home is located very near "the strip" in downtown Palm Springs, so it is easy to take a short drive or even inexpensive cab ride into town for dining and entertainment. All the communication by email and phone, before and during our stay, was amazing. The homeowner was quick, prompt and very clear concerning communication the entire time. This was greatly appreciated. In short, we had a fabulous stay and are anxious to return. Thank you!

Great stay for 6 adults and 1 toddler

We took a family trip to Palm Springs, and couldn't have picked a better property to stay at than this one! Lots of space for everyone to do their own thing. The pool was terrific. The shower beside the hot tub came in very handy. Lots of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice every day from the tree out front. Location was easy to get to and fairly close to downtown and anythng else we needed. We would stay there again in a second!

Lovely vacation retreat

This was our first stay in this property but our third stay in a home owned by these owners. We enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving holiday at this home and would gladly stay here again. The home and yard are very nice and the personal touches such as enormous game, CD and DVD selection really add to the convenience & enjoyability of the property.

I have always enjoyed the desert and the wonderful Mountain view as well as the Mid-Century architecture that Palm Springs is so noted for. I have two daughters who have helped me nurture and restore our beautiful home. We hope you enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

We chose to buy in the South side of Palm Springs due to the location close proximity to the Palm Springs downtown and the protection of the Mountains from the wind. The Tahquitz River Estates are unigue in design and hold true to the rich Mid-Century feel of Palm Springs in 1948
