The lodge inspired decor and the free-standing wood-burning fireplace give this home a distinct mountain feel. The kitchen is furnished with a full size refrigerator, stove top and oven. We provide the cookware and cooking utensils, as well as flatware and dinnerware. There's a microwave and coffee maker, too. All you need to bring are the groceries! Spend time on the outdoor deck, relax and rest in your new home away from home.

Built to accommodate three, there is one queen bedroom with a twin size daybed. The cabin has central heat and air, cable television and ceiling fans. Bears Rest is equipped with an outdoor dining area, so you can even enjoy your meals outside as you take in the tranquility of the forest. If you like s'mores and toasted marshmallows, this cabin offers access to a community fire pit for your favorite campfire treats.

Pets are not allowed at Bears Rest.

From Bears Rest, you are in close proximity to a variety of sensational attractions. The popular town of Alpine Helen is only about 5 miles away. Modeled after a Bavarian Village, Helen provides a unique experience. While you're there, you can explore shops and galleries, restaurants and candy stores. If you time your visit right, you can experience one of Helen's exciting annual festivals, like Oktoberfest. The cabin is located near Unicoi State Park, making it easy to discover the natural wonders of the region. From the park, you can take hikes on the many trails, cross over sparkling creeks and climb to see the tumbling waterfalls. Whether you are here for adventure, relaxation, or both, you're sure to have an amazing time!

Wonderful stay!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was very easy to navigate to, on the outskirts of Helen. Great location! It’s an adorable property, clean, and the process of booking was painless, quick, and Sherry was on top of emails and calls. We were celebrating our honeymoon and even had a cute bottle of Prosecco and some silk pillowcases that was such a sweet gesture! There was also WiFi in the cabin which was an added bonus. We didn’t have any issues with our stay but Sherry still followed up with a courtesy call to make sure we were comfortable and to see if we needed anything. We will definitely be renting from Georgia Mountain Rentals again! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Sherry and team! We appreciate it!

Super Cozy

The accomodations were exactly what we needed. A comfortable bed. The kitchen had enough supplies for us for the few days that we were there. Clean bathroom. Jacuzzi was quiet nice as well. 5Stars all around.

Couple of days getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a last-minute booking, the reservation agent was super helpful and kind. The main intent for the getaway was to relax in a hot tub and disconnect from the daily routine. To our surprise, the hot tub was not the cleanest, the water smelled like mold instead of disinfectant. I called the desk and they immediately sent someone who brought a new floater with disinfectant tablets (the one we found had no tablets inside). Of note, we had used this rental company in the past a few times and the hot tubs always smelled clean. The kitchen furniture was dated which did not bother me, but the shower was sparkling white! The cabin next door was pretty close, thankfully no one was there so we had some privacy getting in and out the hot tub. The other neighbor’s dog barked a lot, made me wonder if they were in vacation there or lived there, because that cabin had clutter around it, which made me feel a little unsafe. The city of Helen is minutes away with plenty of things to do and great restaurants.

Cozy Retreat

This was a perfect escape to destress. Hot tub was nice. Fireplace was cozy. It was nice. The only real issue, was no oven mits, and only one steak knife. Everything else was just fine.

We have stayed at numerous cabins they manage. As for the cabin, the only thing I would recommend is increased water pressure. Sometimes it slowed to a trickle but not a deal breaker. A bear came to visit on our last night there and that was really cool! We will always stay with GRM!

Would stay here again.

This place is very comfortable and we had no problems checking in and out. The back porch faces another home and the road but its hard to see anything through the trees so its very peaceful. The only thing we did not like is the first night there were dogs barking all night making it hard to sleep. The second and third night were much quieter.

The emails took care of most of my questions, but everything was handled professionally and timely. That really put me at ease and made the stay that much more relaxing. The cabin was very cute and the hot tub was very nice on those chilly days/nights. The mattress on the bed is very soft and the coffee filter could probably use to be replaced. Everything else was great. It’s quiet and removed from the noise of town. We enjoyed it!

My Weekend

Very nice place to stay, very quiet. But as to the ramp it needs a railing to make it safer for the step up. Also the outside lights at the driveway were not working.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Neat set up of space. Furniture needed a good cleaning. Could use more kitchen items. Coffee pot was much to small. Bed was fair but would not want to spend a whole week sleeping on! The day bed mattress is pathetic--would not even put a child on it. The hot tub was probably the best feature of the unit. We did have a problem finding the cabin. Not the best GA Mountain Rental we have stayed in. I did appreciate that it is pet free.

Great Little Cabin

The Bears Rest is a great little rustic cabin that's perfect for a couples getaway. The cabin was clean and fairly secluded. It wasn't hard to find or get to. We would definitely stay here again!
