This lakefront luxury getaway has been in our family for four generations and has always been a place where families large and small can gather and reconnect in the quiet of the Poconos mountains. Located in The Hideout gated community, our house sleeps 14 people comfortably in beds thanks to the large bunk bed room in the basement and three bedrooms, including a master/bath, which makes an ideal vacation spot for multiple families and kids. A 2019 Graco pack-n-play is available if you're bringing the little ones!
The large open floor plan main room comes complete with a flat screen tv, wood fireplace, and a faux-antler chandelier to round out the log cabin theme. The game room in the basement includes a pool table, foos ball table, and Big Buck Hunter arcade game. The private dock is perfect for taking our two canoes and one kayak out with paddles and lifevests provided, or just sitting and watching the sunset with a nice glass of wine. An outdoor firepit is available if the night gets a little chilly!
Our home comes equipped with three guess passes so your family can enjoy all of the community amenities of the Hideout Association. Additional passes can be purchased from the Hideout for those over the age of 6. Amenities available to renters include:
- Private Ski Hill - Private Golf Course - Swimming Pool and Beach - Playgrounds, Mini Golf, and other kids activities - Fitness Center - Clubhouse with indoor table games and restaurant/bar
Our house is also less than an hour drive to popular ski resorts such as Montage, Big Bear, Camelback, Big Boulder, Jack Frost, and Elk Mountain. We're also a short 15 minutes drive to Lake Wallenpaupack.

Terrific property for our family gathering. The house was large enough for our extended family outing of 6 adults and 4 kids. It is located on a beautiful lake and nicely designed with great views of the water. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and serving meals and the dining room had an exceptionally large table with plenty of space for everyone. The beds and ample living room seating were comfortable and the kids loved the downstairs game room. We had a great time fishing off the dock and hiking around the property. Some rainy weather prevented us from using the kayaks but they were there for our use with life jackets and everything else we needed. Communication with Matt & Mike was excellent. We would highly recommend this property for a family outing.
We stayed here over the MDW and had an enjoyable holiday. The house is right on the lake in the peaceful setting. We loved sitting outside by the fire and taking it all in. The house itself fit us (two families) comfortably. The space is very inviting and clean. We loved the antler chandelier and the furniture in the bedrooms. The whole house is tastefully decorated and makes you want to come back. Would highly recommend!
The house was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay and has a beautiful view of the lake. We had a great time enjoying the skiing and tubing amenities within the association where the house is located. The host was accommodating to all our needs and I highly recommend this property to families looking for a getaway to the mountains during any season.
Was a great property with a beautiful view , owner was prompt to respond to any queries. Check-in instructions were super detailed and helpful.
The property was absolutely clean and stylish. It was exactly the same as shown in the pictures. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. Game room had enough games to keep kids engaged throughout the trip. Overall a wonderful place for a family vacation with young kids and friends.
Such a great weekend getaway! My family and I booked this cabin to reunite over New Year's weekend, and it was the perfect stay. The cabin itself is very cozy and surrounded by the serene Lake Ariel. The fireplace was a nice touch. The place had absolutely everything we needed, from cookware to utensils to a grill. There were more than enough beds to accommodate us. Mike was always available for any questions. I highly recommend especially if you are looking for a nice getaway for a large family.
We had a wonderful one week vacation with 3 generations of our family. Everything we needed was supplied- kitchen had spices, oil, plenty of dishes; plenty of games, including foose ball, a pool table & arcade games, children's books, blocks; canoes, kayaks with life jackets for children and adults. Communication with owners was excellent- very quick responses to our questions.
Great house for large family vacation from ages 2 to 64. House had all you needed to be comfortable, well stocked kitchen to cook and feed a large family and EVERYTHING you need to enjoy the lake. The Hideout community has great pool and beach areas. Paws and Claws nearby was a fun zoo.
The house was perfect, the space was enough for my big family to have an amazing time. The architecture of the house was exactly what we were looking for.
We have been staying at this lake front home for years and it has become our favorite place in the hideout. We celebrate our Family Thanksgiving at this house with a picture perfect view of the lake. The owners of the home are wonderful people. The house is clean and everything that is described in the listing is there and more. Thank you for allowing me and my family to create such special memories at your home!
We stayed at this property for a family weekend getaway with our adult children, their partners and our grand baby. The location on the lake was lovely and peaceful. The house was spacious and well equipped, but needs some attention. Window shades were broken and bathrooms could use some updating. Considering the cleaning fee, the house should have been cleaner than it was(cobwebs, dust, greasy dishes)
We made use of the fire pit each night but it was not on level ground, making it a bit hazardous.
The gated community was secure, but homes were very close to one another.
Communication with owner and property manager was easy. The property met our needs for a short term stay and we had great weather which helped tremendously.
Our biggest complaint would be the exorbitant fees, added to the nightly rate, which nearly doubled the cost! This is unfortunate for property owners and renters
We had a wonderful month at the lake house. Enjoyed every minute of the peacefulness. Beach and pool were great. House was very comfortable. Owners were always at the end of a text or phone call and very hospitable.
We had a wonderful week at the Hideout. This is our 10th year vacationing here, and the third at this specific house. This house has literally everything you could possibly need. Lake-front access, kayaks, canoes, firepit, TVs, WiFi, nice beds, grill, games, and other household items. Just bring your food and your family! Can't wait to come back!
Wonderful property for 3 generations. . Each couple had separate bedroom, one teen loved the loft, and 3 younger cousins thought the bunk room was great. Kitchen had everything you possibly could have wanted.. Most enjoyed items were the 2 kayaks and 1 canoe- everyone took turns paddling around the lake. Would definitely recommend the Riggins property to anyone wanting quiet, well appointed rental..
Our young adult leaders' retreat was phenomenal in large part to this serene lakeside paradise. When we entered the cabin, the cleanliness and meticulous detail in providing a liveable environment were noted from the start. The views of the lake were renewing and we appreciated the beautiful landscape. Thank you!
This house was amazing for a girls’ getaway weekend. And it was the perfect place to be snowed-in for a weekend of lounging, game-playing and comfort food. The fireplace was so inviting and had plenty of firewood to keep the atmosphere cozy. The description was spot on and stocked with every essential. We all agreed it was one of the best rentals we’ve experienced!
We had 8 adults and a total of 4 children (two under one year old). This house fit our needs very well. There was lots of room for kids to play, a very large table for all of us to eat, a game room to get away, a beautiful gathering room with a working fireplace. The decor was amazing, we couldn't have asked for anything nicer. The owner was very attentive and answered my questions within minutes.
Our stay was wonderful. House was great providing everything we could want while there. From kayaks and canoes to fishing equipment to everything in the kitchen we could possibly need. We had plenty of room for our family of 10. We would definately want to come back!
