First trip to Asheville
We enjoyed our first trip to Asheville and our rental added to that enjoyment. The home was very spacious allowing all three couples to have their own space and bathrooms but also providing areas to enjoy each others company. Enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning and the hot tub every evening. Location was also perfect, short drive to downtown.

Family getaway
We loved this property. Very close to town. Plenty of room to move around. We joined another family here and spent most of our time playing games at the large table and sitting outside in the balcony. We even saw a bear walk up the driveway (from the safety of the house).

Family trip
Family from 3 different states came to Asheville for the first time. Not knowing anything about the area..was pleasantly surprised with the location. House was very comfy and roomy. Loved the outdoor area. The open living area was perfect for family dinners and lots of card playing! Would definitely stay here again!

Ashville & Biltmore at Christmas
This was a girls getaway and reconnect weekend with 8 friends we rarely see but have known for over 30 years!! We all had Biltmore at Christmas on our list and we had an amazing time. Ms. Jodi was absolutely wonderful in answering all questions and responded right away. The house and location were fantastic. There is plenty of parking for 4 cars and plenty of room to spread out. I highly recommend this place!!

Family Spring Break Road Trip
It was very easy to book, check-in, and enjoy. Definitely would stay again at if back in the area. Not a great spot for people who can’t do stairs as a warning for those with mobility issues, but quick to Asheville. Food delivery works there or you can slip into downtown, arts district, etc, with ease.

This home was perfect for our annual ladies’ trip. It was very clean upon arrival, beautiful views, and hot tub was ready to go. I’d only recommend adding more bath towels and a lamp or two in the main upstairs living room.

great place to stay
This was overall a great find. 10 min from downtown Asheville but in a quiet wooded beautiful location. Owner responded promptly to small issue with sink. Only complaint is the downstairs twin bedroom beds were not very comfortable. Fine for young children I imagine. Same for sleeper couch downstairs.

Lovely Home in the Woods
Although the house is a short distance from downtown Asheville, it is in a wooded cove so that you feel you are in the woods. There are two very nice, large decks, one front and one back, so you can look both directions into the trees. Margaret was wonderfully helpful and patient when our family reunion in 2020 had to be postponed twice and then altogether for 2020 and rescheduled for 2021. Jodi is her helpful daughter/manager. A couple of things to know: one is that from the area where you park, you are climbing a full flight of outside stairs with your gear, etc. Fine if you are young and fit, but a challenge for very mature folks. The parking level is also the same level as the bottom level with two bedrooms and a bath. The stairs up from there are circular and tight, so I wouldn't recommend planning that a older adult (over 75) use those bedrooms--or else access the upstairs by going outside and using the outdoor stairs. The master bedroom, bath, and walk-in closet on the upper, main floor are all large--lucky the couple who gets that bedroom! The study with the sleep sofa becomes a nice bedroom with the hall bathroom right next to it. One thing that could be improved is bringing the number of forks, knives, and glassware up to 8 of each. Jodi said she will attend to that, so I am sure that will be solved. The owners give you a good list of recommendations. If you haven't been around much of Asheville, we definitely recommend the trolley tour that goes from the Visitors Center (Grey Line). The driver takes you into neighborhoods you wouldn't ordinarily see, tells you lots of interesting history, and is entertaining as well. We had one person with us who lives in Asheville and a couple who have visited Asheville often, and they all thought the tour was excellent. We particularly loved the NC Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway--excellent crafts. Also, the Grove Park Arts gallery is outstanding (at the Grove Park Inn, down below, and free parking). Downtown Asheville is teeming with tourists now, which is great for the merchants and art galleries but a challenge for parking. We did find parking available if we went about 10-10:30 am as the art galleries don't open until 11:00. The River Arts area seemed easier for parking. If you are interested in churches, the Basilica of St. Lawrence is beautiful inside. Lots of places to go and things to see--and then you come home to the lovely Woodland Retreat.

Great Owners
When we arrived we didn't have power due to a tree falling on the lines, no fault of the owners. The owners checked on us until the power was restored. Then then was a small issue with the water lines, but didn't effect the inside water. They were very attentive to us and took great care in making sure we were ok. I would highly recommend this home. The accommodations are nice and the home is in the country but very close to town at the same time. Even had the opportunity of seeing a huge black bear just across the road from where we stayed, that was an added bonus for us!! Loved our stay!

Mountain get-away
We were looking for a place to go with our 4 adult children on a family vacation during the pandemic. We chose this house as it was in a wooded area, quiet, cozy yet only 2 miles from the center of Asheville. We enjoyed the coziness and convenience of the house and location. The owners were in touch as soon as we had a question and were kind enough to mail my husband's wallet to him after he had left it in one of the dresser drawers. We were so grateful! We spent pretty much every day hiking the different mountain paths or going on bike rides. The kitchen was well stocked and had just the right space for all us to eat together with the view of the trees and deck. The only thing that could have been better was the air conditioning in the lower level. It was a bit stuffy, but our kids loved the easy access to the hot tub and spent a lot of time there. The master is huge as well as the bathroom with a walk-in closet big enough to be a small bedroom for an infant or child. Overall, we were happy with our stay and felt it was a wonderful place for a family gathering. Thank you!!
