Our villa is located above the Crescent City fog bank by roughly 6 miles, inland climate located next to Smith River and steps to Jedediah Smith State Park. Completely renovated villa with all the amenities of home: wifi, bbq, hot tub, two large master suites, sofa sleeper in living room. Pick your own fresh tomatoes and veggies from yard. The house is in the perfect location for a trip to Jedidiah Smith Redwoods and Smith River. The house was great! Ditto the other reviews. We would stay here again!

Very clean and comfortable cabin, well stocked and location perfect for visiting Jedidiah State Park. Cheerful and cozy patio with nice fireplace, enjoyed views of the forested hills from the hot tub!

super clean house with great location

We enjoyed the hot tub, the fireplace outside with smores, used the washer and dryer, the view, and location next to the Smith river in the Jedidiah Smith State Park where we hiked around the redwoods

Family Weekend Retreat

Stay was amazing.! We loved that it was pet friendly. The outdoor fire pit, bbq, and hot tub, really set the mood for the stay. The inside was very clean and all amenities. The only drawback would was the price was a little spendy. But, once you get in and settled then it was worth the time and money. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks for the stay.

Thanksgiving w/Family in Redwoods

Wonderful property in a great location. Minutes to Redwoods trails/park, River, and Crescent City. Pictures and description online match. Extremely clean and responsive hosts. This is our second time staying here and will definitely be back. Great backyard for dogs/kids: grass, fire pit, hot tub. Thanks Stella & Harry for keeping this place a VRBO!!

Magical location

We loved this property! The host was so helpful with suggesting activities and available if we had any questions. The fire was set for us when we got there- all we had to do was light it. It was nice to sit out and make the complimentary s’mores that were provided. The hot tub was wonderful and this location was the best! We played at the river, hiked the beautiful redwoods in Jedediah state park. We also took a beautiful drive through there. I wish we had time to do more. We also visited the beaches! It was the best! Hope we can return sometime.

Perfect Location, Perfect Stay!

My son and I spent a long weekend exploring the Redwoods and Smith River and Villa Au Contraire was in the perfect location to be our basecamp. The house is located a short walk away from trailheads that take you to some of Jedediah State Parks great attractions... including Stout Grove! The house was well equipped with everything we needed, and the fire-pit and hot tub were used every night! The owners even had the firepit set up and ready for our first night (including stuff for smores!) Would highly recommend Villa Au Contraire to anyone planning a visit to the area!

The Perfect Stay!

This is a very nice, clean rental which has 2 master bedrooms with walk-in closets and bathrooms attached. Kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed and a selection of Keurig coffees. There were s'more ingredients left for us, and a fire ready to light in the firepit. The backyard is fully fenced and private. There are 2 kayaks, 3 bicycles and several tubes. You can grab a tube and walk right down to the Smith River by the Hiouchi bridge and swim and float. Jedediah state park is just down the block if you want to bike around the redwood forest. We had some great days without even needing to drive anywhere! Loved it!
