About this property

Wanderlust is a beautiful modern home in the center of all things Asheville!

This unique concrete home located in the charming Kenilworth neighborhood is less than a mile from the entrance to the majestic Biltmore estate and Biltmore village, and only two miles away from downtown Asheville! To build the house some Native trees on the property were harvested and utilized as cabinetry, outside soffits, doors and wood inlays in concrete floors. The French Broad river, providing bike and walking trails as well as parks, is located only a few blocks away.

The beautiful open space living and dining room are graced with a wall of windows looking out over the forest with a full wrap around deck. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with en suite bath and deck. The second bedroom also has its own deck and two twin beds. The third bedroom functions as a media room with a pull out queen sofa. The house sleeps six people.

A second bathroom containing a claw foot tub and double sinks is located off the hall between the two bedrooms.

The house includes a washer/dryer, double oven, cooktop island, European wood stove, outdoor grill and ceiling fans throughout.

Well behaved Pets are welcome with a pet deposit. Please keep them off the furniture

Original sculptures by local artists abound both throughout the house and on the deck.

Heavenly Asheville
One of the most peaceful properties imaginable, with floor-to-ceiling. picture window treehouse-type views, a wrap-around expansive wooden deck and creative artwork throughout the property in a picturesque vernal setting. A babbling fountain by the entranceway provides an ideal ambiance for early morning (or late afternoon!) meditations. Property owner (and sculptor and onsite downstairs studio resident) Angelique (and her constant companion, a sweet hyena-looking doggie named Martha) was gracious and helpful, allowing us to host our cousins for a large family gathering and dinner on-site. The perfect setting for our family reunion in NC!!

Great location!
We came in town to watch our daughters run the Asheville Marathon. This house was a perfect location to the race and everything downtown! The driveway is super steep, but we got three cars parked on it. The host has a art studio below with a dog, no issues, just didn't know that when we booked. Nice big kitchen with plenty of cooking items-which was great for us since we like to cook and eat in. Loved the corner fireplace!

Absolutely Amazing
My husband and I stayed at Wanderlust to celebrate his 40th birthday. You are minutes from the Biltmore Village and downtown Asheville. The home is so comfortable and relaxing. We stayed with our two dogs and had no issues at all. The driveway is incredibly steep, and we had a bear visit us. It was a wonderful little vacation and I’d highly recommend this home.

Family Meet-Up Get Away
We met up with our daughter & son-in-law - chose Asheville because it’s midway. We love the location, close to everything we wanted to do. Love the house, it was full of art and books, and so comfortable. The owner, Angelique, is so kind, helpful, and funny. We didn’t see bears, but a bunny came to see us every day. I’ll be back for a girls’ weekend soon!

Amazing
This place is amazing. It was perfect for our getaway to Asheville. 5 minutes from The Biltmore, the south slope, west Asheville, Biltmore village. Waking each morning felt like you. were out in the middle of the woods. Starting the day with a fire and coffee. The owner is awesome as well in making sure you have a wonderful stay.

Idyllic, artistic hillside retreat close to city center
We were in Asheville for a wedding (couple & 3 adult children) and loved this beautiful and comfortable space. Clean and well-appointed & nestled in the trees on a hillside with deck and several balconies. close to everything. Friendly hosts. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Quiet, centralized location in Kenilworth area of Asheville
We really enjoyed our stay at this home in the Kenilworth area of Ashevillea. Very convenient to all things in Asheville. Neighborhood is ideal for walks, with some hills. Living room has wall of windows overlooking the trees which gives it a treehouse feel. Kitchen is well stocked. Host Angelique is very nice and responds quickly to questions. Would stay here again.

Beautiful home with great artwork
Beautiful home with great artwork. The great room which included the kitchen and living area was lovely. And the outdoor decks are a great bonus. We did yoga out there each morning. The third bedroom with a pull out queen couch is not likely suitable for a couple - unless they are young or small. The driveway is very steep, but there is a level spot for two cars to park on top. A third car will likely have to park at the bottom of the hill on the street. Great location if you want to be near Biltmore Village; and a very good location for reaching downtown. Only five minutes away.

Life in the Treehouse
We have rented a number of places over the years and this property is easily our favorite. We loved the vibe, the light, the art, the view, the books, the concrete floors, the cooking staples. We enjoyed getting to know the other dog people in the neighborhood. Kenilworth is a wonderful, walkable neighborhood and Asheville, though a gem of a city, has few pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods like this one given the twisty nature of the roads and the hills. The bedding was comfortable. The home has cable tv – many rentals do not. Wifi worked well. The owner of the home was responsive to any concerns. We were located 10 minutes from downtown 45-60 minutes from numerous hiking trails. We greatly enjoyed our time in this rental and recommend it unreservedly.

Great Fall retreat.
A lovely place in the Kennilworth area. There are outside stairs, and a steep driveway, so disabled folks would have difficulty. We did fine and enjoyed it with our two corgis. We’d stay here again.

Tree house in the mountains
Lovely artistic home with the feeling of being in a tree house. House is very open with no window coverings. There was a little confusion initially with time of check-in and out. The Web site property description had time of check-in 11 and check-out at 6. Upon arrival we found the time in owner's manual as 4 and 11. Had to change plans for last day of stay. The house has beautiful art pieces and looks like it has a working art studio on property. Home was very dusty particularly the dishes in the open kitchen. Would suggest possibly a gate leading to the downstairs since you come upon it without warning. One of our party had a near miss upon entry. Parking was a bit challenging with space allotted to guest. Proximity to activities is great. Beware of bears..

Beautiful home.
Home is beautiful and contains lots of artwork and sculptures. No problem cooking as kitchen and pantry are well equipped. We loved the wrap around decks in the morning and the evenings. Great for evening firefly watching! Home is close to everything in Asheville. Angelique is good at getting back with answers to any questions.
