Wonderful family getaway

Three generations joined for a Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed every minute. The owner communicated clearly, responded promptly to questions and provided a wonderful place to enjoy relaxation, beautiful views and a great kitchen to gather and prepare our Thanksgiving meal.

Family wedding trip

The location was perfect to attend family wedding at a near by venue. The view from the front of the home is breathtaking. The home is large with plenty of bedrooms for all of our adult kids and their families. The only problem was a playground is listed on the line but there is not one on sitelistedEverything is pretty much supplied A .

Sunsets

We loved our stay at the Alpine House. We were fortunate to have perfect weather so our favorite activity was watching the gorgeous sunsets from the front porch. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Highly recommend this property!

Great view of the Tennessee River Valley

group of 10 of us stayed the week hurricane Helena went by, so we spent the entire week playing games and eating. According to the sign the house was built in 1898, and the creaky floors and steps show it. The kitchen had just about every needed for a group of 10. Could use brighter light bulbs in the dining room and some of the dining room chairs are showing their age. The air conditioning work well. Though a ceiling fan in the living room and kitchen would have been nice. Or a couple of floor fans. The 2 washers and dryers were a nice feature and put to good use. As with any group of 10, some were cold and others hot. Overall, a nice place to stay.

Beautiful View

We enjoyed a week long stay at the Alpine House for our family vacation. The house is old and charming. The space was great for our family. All three rooms up stairs have TVs and their own bathrooms that are small and functional. The two bedrooms downstairs share a a large bathroom (shower could use some anti slip) both of these rooms are not on the central air but have their own portable AC units. The kitchen has lots of items. I would not recommend if you have smaller children as this house is not set up for young kids who want to get into things - our youngest is 7 so that was fine. The views from the house both front porch and upper deck are really nice! The parking is ample. Quick 10ish min drive to a Dollar General or a bit further to the Walmart and other groceries. We really enjoyed the downtown of South Pittsburg. The Lodge Museum/Outlet store, Stevarinos, Antique store and Hammer's Dept Store.

Beautiful home and view

The owner of the house was easy to contact whenever I reached out to her. We had a family wedding and there were 9 of us. Plenty of room, space and privacy. There were so many extras in the house such as coffee, filters, laundry pods, tissues and so many places to hang out both inside and outside the house. Our favorite was sunset on the front porch. It’s where we always ended our day. The view is absolutely spectacular!

Senior siblings weekend.

4 senior citizen siblings & 2 of their spouses attending a family wedding in Trenton, Ga. that was only 20 min. away. We all felt this house was a great place to stay. It was supplied with everything. We did move the Kurig from the 2nd floor coffee service area to the kitchen as we had only brought pods. The view from the spacious front porch was ever changing and wonderful even when it was socked in with clouds. We sat out a few times with coffee & wine. It was very calming. The stairs to the 2nd floor were not too bad for an 1898 house but the 2 huge bedrooms on the first floor were a great option for the arthritic ones. I was amazed at how clean the property was. We would recommend for everyone!

College pals reunion

Our diverse group of 6 had a great time at Alpine House. The older home is well stocked with all the essentials, plus some! We especially liked the en suite bathrooms. The views were beautiful especially in the evening. The owners were great as were the neighbor. We are already planning a return visit. Our only recommendation would be to “air out” the front bedroom. It seemed a bit musty.

Refreshing respite

House was absolutely perfect for six teens and four adults, staying two nights as a respite on a long road trip. The owners have put a lot of love into the property and it shows, everyone in our group wished we had more time to enjoy the property. The daybed in one picture has been replaced by a queen bed but this was not an issue, all beds were quite comfortable. Kitchen was well set up for group cooking, lots of games/puzzles and virtually every streaming option. Sunsets from the front porch and front balcony were amazing. Took advantage of the screened in back porch as well. Tracy reached out the day we arrived and replied promptly the entire stay. Downstairs bathroom wasn’t quite as accessible for non ambulatory wheelchair user as expected, but this would not be an issue for most renters. Even with that said, we would absolutely stay there again and simply plan for the needed adjustments. Thank you Kinard family for your hospitality!

Our weekend stay

We had a blast staying here. The history of the house is amazing with all the documentation they have provided. And secondly and the most amazing is the views sitting on the front porch watching the sunset over the valley is spectacular. The beds are soft and the water pressure is good. With the covered parking our group’s motorcycle we’re protected from a storm that came threw. All in all would highly recommend this so rental. And the drive to the attractions was slightly longer but a very nice drive.

Perfect setting for a family getaway!

Our family had a great time at the Alpine House. We were in town for our son's graduation from the Southeast Lineman Training Program in nearby Trenton, GA and selected this house for it's size and number of bed/bath rooms. It fit us perfectly, as we had 6 adults staying (used 4 of 5 bedrooms). House was incredibly clean and charming. So many great things to look at! The view from the balcony and the set up across the street were breathtaking--we were blessed with beautiful weather, as well. The back porch always had a nice breeze, as did the front porch, so it was lovely to sit and relax anywhere! The kitchen had everything you could think of that we needed, and then some. Tracy was great with communicating with us--truly, she went above and beyond. She gave us some excellent recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Wish we had time to do them all! She responded promptly to anything we asked her and was sweet as can be. The next door neighbor is so kind--she stopped to check on us and even came to help us connect to the wifi. The only thing that I wish was different was the proximity to Chattanooga. It is about a 45 min drive, which was ok at first, but as the time moved on during our stay, I was glad we had closer recommendations from Tracy for things to do. This house is beyond awesome, though--if you want a quiet get away where you can really escape, with room for a crowd--this is the perfect place. If you want to be spending a lot of time in Chattanooga, though, be prepared to drive a lot. Beware that you shift into the central time zone at Alpine House, so if you want to go east, be sure to plan accordingly. The time zone and the distance to Chattanooga are not reasons to avoid this beautiful house--you should just be aware of these two things and plan for them. Thank you so much to Dylan and Tracy for sharing this house with us--we are grateful for the memories made and your hospitality--truly was a trip to remember!

Great House for a Group

We rented this house for an annual friends’ get together. It was a terrific choice! The house was spacious and gave us tons of places to spend time. There was an amazing view plus lots of porches to enjoy it. The kitchen was well-equipped and roomy enough for a few of us to cook at once. I definitely recommend it!

A charming retreat in the mountains.

We spent a long-weekend at The Alpine House in mid-September. We were in the area to attend our daughter’s wedding which took place at Pat’s Summit in nearby Kimball/Jasper Highlands. We chose the Alpine House over other accommodations initially because of its size—we had four couples stay at the house, and we didn’t want to be separated into different cabins, etc. WE WERE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH OUR STAY, AND FEEL THE ALPINE HOUSE IS A WELL RUN PROPERTY AND AN EXCELLENT VALUE. IT’S ESPECIALLY GREAT FOR LARGE GROUPS! Five or Six bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a second floor balcony, a wraparound front porch, huge kitchen, two sets of washers/dryers, lots of outdoor space, ample parking, a million dollar view…this place literally has it all!!!! We communicated with the owners both before and throughout our stay and they were always available to answer questions and very accommodating. The house was very well equipped—toiletries, linens/towels, pantry items, laundry supplies—they’ve thought of everything. We spent our days cooking brunch as a family, and then “catching up” in the sitting room before we would venture into town for various wedding events throughout the weekend. One thing to remember, this is a 150 year old house. It’s not the new Hyatt or Ritz Carlton. Everything works well, and the home has been wonderfully maintained and VERY clean …but keep in mind it’s still a 150 year old house, which makes this property even more charming and unique . If you’ve ever owned an old home before, you’ll know what we mean—a few creaks, a slight tilt on some floors, a door that doesn’t quite align—all part of the “charm”. But, all of the modern conveniences are there…televisions in all bedrooms, strong wi-fi, ceiling fans and AC, jetted tubs in the bedrooms, etc. You’re about 15 minutes to the nearest town, which has a gas station, a few fast food restaurants and a very nice Wal Mart. If you are unfamiliar with the area, try to arrive during the daylight. The drive to the house in the dark can be a bit intimidating to those unfamiliar with the roads. If you need a large house for your entire family, and want something comfortable, affordable and private…the Alpine House is a GREAT CHOICE. We highly recommend it.

Perfect place for reconnecting

A group of us came together to reconnect after 18 months of Covid precautions. This was the perfect space to spend quality time cooking meals, chatting on porches and watching beautiful sunsets. The accommodations were comfortable and well-stocked and everything was in good working order. Thank you for sharing your spacious home with us!

Beautiful

The house is gorgeous, spacious and clean. The view is outstanding from the upstairs balcony and the overlook across the street. Wifi works well, the appliances are clean and in good repair, there are plenty of dishes and pots and pans for prepping/serving food, and the overall feel of the house is warm and welcoming. Easy check-in and good communication with owner We absolutely loved our stay, and we would absolutely stay again. Worth every penny.
