Roomy, clean, very private in-town brick home with a large completely-equipped eat-in kitchen, dining room, master suite plus two bedrooms and second bath, screened-in back porch and laundry room. 2.7 miles (8 min.) from center of downtown Athens; 3.5 miles from Sanford Stadium; 2.8 miles (9 min.) from the University of Georgia arches; one (1) mile from University of Georgia Health Sciences Campus; 1.4 miles from Piedmont-Athens Regional Medical Center. Great for Parents Weekend

This was a perfect spot for my wife to stay for a weekend with our daughter. It was clean, comfortable and exactly as described. Really close to campus and downtown Athens, but in a quiet neighborhood.

Great stay at Ginny’s Place

We needed a spot to stay while our son attended football camp at UG. Ginny’s place was perfect. Nice, clean, plenty of room, all the amenities and great location. Host was great. Only note would be that the driveway is kind of steep so some cars may scrape fender getting up. Neighborhood is nice, safe and street parking is fine so not a big deal. Would definitely stay again if in Athens.

The house is very comfortable and clean. It is also well stocked with anything you will need. Everything went well and is as described in the listing. It’s not walkable to downtown but only a ten minute drive. Uber was only $7 and readily available. We would highly recommend this property and host.

1st trip to the Master's

Ginny’s Place was perfect for our family golf week. We made a day trip to Augusta National to attend the Masters practice round, then played the UGA course in Athens the next day. The house is well-appointed in every way. I have stayed in VRBO’s around the world…Ginny’s Place is one of the best! If we’re ever back in Athens, I hope Ginny’s Place is available.

All State Chorus Event

Our stay at Ginny’s place was perfect. Close proximity to UGA and downtown Athens and the Classic Center where our event took place. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was nice too. The owner was readily available and responded quickly to any questions I had. I would definitely stay here again.

Thanksgiving with Family

Clean and comfortable! Perfect for us. The driveway is really steep, which isn't a deal breaker, but if you have a trailer hitch on your truck, you need to remove it before going up or down.

Ginny’s Place

We rented for a football weekend. Just a 10 min drive to stadium. The house was very clean, comfortable, and in great condition. Kitchen had everything needed. We felt at home and welcomed.

Owner extremely helpful

I have chronic bronchitis and am allergic to chemicals in cleaning products and detergents and their odors. Farol made sure that the house was cleaned with products that I use at home and was so helpful in making our stay comfortable. We will be repeat visitors when we visit our son. Thanks you so much Farol for going the extra effort to help me!

Nice Home But Bad Experience

We rented this home while our floors were being redone. The host communicated well with us up front and there was a lot of friendly back and forth chatting on the vrbo app about our stay. We also exchanged phone numbers. Unfortunately when we arrived at the property, the code we were given did not work. I texted, phoned and left a vm, and sent a message on the app but no response. Finally I called customer service and they confirmed our reservation and provided a back up phone number and we were able to reach the owner's son. Apparently she forgot about our reservation. She said that she would get the home cleaned and text me when it was ready.Three hours later we got a text that we could get in, but I was working that weekend and had returned to work and my husband also had returned home. It was dark by then, and raining and with the steep driveway I told her we could not move in that night. We returned the next day and the home was neat, clean, and quiet, and the pics and description were accurate except for the 2 car garage, which cannot accommodate 2 cars. We had to move things closer to the wall to fit our cars, but we could barely get them in and could not open our car doors, so my husband parked on the street. After we moved in the host apologized for the mishap about the reservation and on the vrbo chat said she would like to "completely refund our stay". After 8 business days the charge was still on our card so I contacted her about the refund. She reminded us that it takes some time for the refund to go through vrbo and then asked us what would be a fair refund and what we would be happy with. I said that she had told us she was going to "completely refund our stay" but if that was no longer her intent I would accept a 50% reduction plus the cancellation insurance we purchased. She replied that she was sorry for "our miscommunication" but she would comp the night we did not stay there, plus an extra night. I never replied as I was too shocked and disappointed and just wanted the whole thing to be done. This was my first experience w vrbo.

UGA Visit

Cozy, comfortable, clean and close…to UGA!!! Perfect spot to use as a home base while visiting our son. He enjoyed staying with us too, for some well needed rest, home made lunches, snd even for mom to do a couple of loads of his laundry. ;) Farol and Jason were wonderful and helpful hosts. We will definitely be back!!!

Lovely home

Clean, comfortable, well equipped

Ginny’s place had everything we needed for our stay. It was very clean and there was plenty of wash cloths, towels and all of the kitchen utensils we needed. It was a bit more than waking distance to the UGA campus, but that wasn’t a big deal because we had a car and also were able to use Uber very easily. I loved the screened in porch for my morning coffee and just having a home to relax and unwind in without having to worry about disturbing sleeping teenagers.

Second time was a Charm

Second time I have stayed at the house and it was great. Well designed house that would be ideal for a game day group or a family that needs to stay together for a visit. Or an individual wanting a long term stay. Furniture, appliances, utensils are excellent. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and cared for. Be ready for a great stay!

Farol is a longtime resident of Athens-Clarke County and a retired realtor. Her son Jason co-hosts the property. They enjoy the music, arts, great food, and friendly people.

Why they chose this property

Ginny's Place was purchased in February 2018. The house was renovated with exterior repairs, interior paint, new plumbing and light fixtures and deep cleaning. The location is very convenient to UGA, Piedmont Hospital, the Medical Campus and downtown Athens. The neighborhood is attractive, safe, stable and quiet.

What makes this property unique

The kitchen is great! The screened in back porch is a great place to relax. The living room is spacious with leather furniture and a big UHD TV. We keep the house very clean. It is a short drive to downtown and UGA. Bishop Park is just a mile away with tennis, swimming, playground and walking trails.
