This was a big surprise and great spot for an overnight stay. We loved letting our dog romp and gallop in the large fenced-in areas. He had such a blast! Sitting on the deck to enjoy the sunshine was perfect and very relaxing. The bedroom was very comfortable and we slept like babies. Definitely bring a meal or two that you can microwave. Plan for a rustic adventure and you will have a great stay.
This property was in a great location for an event we attended and great we could bring our dog. Melissa was very timely in responding to a couple questions I had with another property she hosts. The carriage house was clean and had everything we needed (provided a few drinks and breakfast food for us). Melissa also has a lot of knowledge on the history the area - so informative. We will stay here again.
Great expansive property for our dog to enjoy while we watched from the deck enjoying a beverage.
Owner was very nice and responsive
If you arrive late in the day, make sure you have dinner with you, as the closest restaurant is about 10 miles away
Overall a very nice time
We enjoyed our stay in the carriage house, Definitely a unique space. Melissa, our host was very friendly and very knowledgeable about her homestead and the surrounding area’s history. I plan to revisit for hopefully a history lesson and tour of the area.
There are no restaurants in the immediate area but there are some in a nearby town a few miles away. Cooking meals at the property will be difficult if planning a large meal as there is a two eyed hot plate and a toaster oven but it worked great for us. Thank you Melissa.
We only stayed one night as we were traveling to see family. Location was amazing. Loved sitting outside and enjoying the scenery. Very relaxing and beautiful. The description said it was a carriage house, but actually it was a stable. It was cleverly done and comfortable, but the bedroom was a converted stall. It was clean and it didn't smell like a stable. If the weather hadn't been so beautiful we would not have had a place to hang out except in the small bedroom and kitchen. It was a perfect spot for our dog, lots of fenced area for her to roam. I would contemplate going back but my husband couldn't get over the fact that it was a stable. Great place if you are traveling with horses.
Outstanding host, goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and your stay enjoyable. The Carriage House isn't the Ritz but is well furnished, comfortable and wonderful for people who bring their dogs when they travel. Dog paradise with a huge, securely fenced area off the deck, and more fenced property for walks. Cooking facilities are a quality grill (with charcoal provided), a toaster oven, and a microwave. Washer and dryer plus clothesline available. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning + ceiling fans in bedroom and kitchen. Nice deck for sitting outside in morning. Peaceful, relaxing surroundings. The Pee Dee region has some nice state parks and the Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge is worth a visit if you are looking for nature areas where your leashed dog is welcome.
We love this property as it works great for our dogs to stretch their legs on our trip down to FL. This was our second time staying here and it has all the comforts of home. We look forward to staying here again soon.
Wonderful setup with great accommodations. This was a father/son getaway for a few days and it was an ideal setup for us. More fitting for us than a hotel, by a long stretch. The deck was great, location was great, awesome stay all around with a wonderful and communicative host.
We were traveling a long ways and needed a stop over point. The host was so accommodating since we arrived very late. We were traveling with our new puppy so the wide spaces, deck and fenced in yard were just what we needed. The only thing we did not expected was that the room, bathroom and kitchen were in separate spaces. You had to walk out into the barn to access each space. This was no an issue, we just did not realize it was set up this way. Thank you for our stay at your property.
Melissa is an absolute sweetheart! It’s clear she cares about making the stay the absolute best she can for the guests. The Carriage House is a converted barn, which is really cool - something you won’t find anywhere else! The location is great - 15 minutes from Hartsville and 30 minutes from Florence.
If you’re looking for a cozy stay and unique experience, this is the perfect choice for you!
This was our first air b n b experience. The property was beautiful. We did not realize we would be sleeping in a converted barn which made the weekend experience very unique. It is definetely a place for tranquility.
Lovely rural setting with a wonderful deck for watching sunsets. The carriage house was clean and comfortable. A slight glitch in arrival instructions was handled quickly and graciously. My dog loved the doggie door from the deck to the fenced yard.
A perfect place for the dog hunt test/field trial trailer. A place for people and dogs to kick back after a long day. The dog yard is perfect for letting the dogs unwind while you unpack or enjoy the back deck. Special travel snacks are a nice touch.
We stayed here overnight on our drive up the coast with our large dog, and loved the unique and beautiful property. Our dog loved running around and Melissa provided an inviting atmosphere for us. Excellent stay for sure.
This place was amazing. Super cute carriage house. Loved the fenced in yard for the dogs. Melissa went above and beyond to make our stay special. The wine and snacks were perfect after a 14 hour drive. Relaxing on the deck while our dogs played in the yard was so nice and tv was great as well with Netflix already installed. If you have dogs and or horses, this is the place to stay. Very unique setup. Highly recommend!
